Its Tuesday whats up in your world
Thanks, Judy, but this is one Thanksgiving I feel like being alone. Just tired and want to spend the day watching football. Found my turkey wings, so I have my own little feast. I would love to spend it with my family, but they're in Chicago (or near Chicago) and I'm in Louisiana. Maybe next year...
Lately I haven't been on the computer much. Too much on my mind..
What I thought was hernia pain seems to need more investigating. Funny that I tell the support group "CALL THE DOCTOR", but I always wait to see if symptoms go away.
Last week I had blood work, today a CAT scan, then see the Gastro Doctor in a few days. The plan is to go up one end and down the other. Maybe they will see the light at the end of the tunnel?

Good morning my OFF sistas!
This is my second attempt to post today. Lost the first one an hour or so ago. GRRR!
Today is my 9 month surgiversary. I just realized that.
I am very thankful to have my husband finally on his way home. Lord only knows if he'll actually get here on time tomorrow. I can't think of a much worse travel day than the day before Thanksgiving, but we'll see how it goes. Perhaps the international flights won't be quite so chaotic as the domestic ones.
I'm also thankful for the rain today. Oh, we need every precious drop!
So, since I'll be driving and traveling tomorrow, I guess I'd better start some of my food prep today. My family does not care for the traditional Thanksgiving meal too much. So we are doing something a little different. IF Butch does get home tomorrow, we will fire up the smoker and smoke a brisket, pork spareribs, and a couple of chickens. If not, we'll smoke it all on Friday. I did buy a "real" ham to bake (not one of those spiral sliced hams, but a real old fashioned picnic ham) for our meal on Thursday. And we'll have pinto beans, scalloped potatoes, lime jell-o salad, plus an assortment of fresh veggies like sliced tomatoes, green onions, etc. And I will make a little pan of cornbread dressing and we'll have some cranberry sauce as a nod to tradition.
And I'm going to try those two pies I posted recipes for. And I'll have some chips and dips for snacking ahead of time. My family always loves those. So I guess today I'll bake my cornbread, make my pies, and prepare my dips.
Also need to make spaghetti for dinner tonight. My oldest daughter will be driving in this evening from Waco and I need a meal that will hold for awhile, since I don't know exactly when she'll be arriving. I am so glad that she is coming early this year! She'll be here through Sunday, a nice long visit!
Some of you may recall that we had planned earlier to spend this Thanksgiving weekend at one of the big resort casinos in Shreveport so that I wouldn't have to cook (and be tempted by all the food), but unfortunately that didn't work out. My husband's silly work schedule is so annoying at times. So I'll just have to tough it out and try to stay on track the next few days.
I know some of you are posting about missing your moms this Thanksgiving. I miss my daddy. It's just not the same holiday without him. But life does go on, doesn't it? And this year I have my precious little Benny to keep me on my toes. He and I are having a grand time in the mornings this week. Chris sleeps late and I take the "first" shift with him. We get up and have breakfast together and then I always seem to catch that first poopy diaper, too! LOL! Chris takes the "night" shift by giving him his bath and getting him ready for bedtime. It's working out great.
(Of course, I don't manage to get dressed until noon, but that's okay. LOL!)
So, I'd better get this sent before something else happens and I lose this post too.
Love you all!

Good afternoon Jo and everyone....
I had a doctor appointment to go over all my lab work. She ran everything!! At least I am doing something right because my numbers are ALL perfect!!!
I miss my mom (RIP), I miss my friends, Minnesota, and I miss my life.
Things with the grand-kids are great. My daughter isn't my daughter...I don't know who this person is that comes here but she is not MY DAUGHTER!! If anyone finds Jamie please send her back to me. I will fill you in soon.
I am leaving in the morning for Minneapolis. I am getting Kyleigh and bringing her here. Not sure what we will be having for Thanksgiving dinner. Whatever I make I guess. Nic and Grace will be leaving for Kansas in the morning. They will return on Sunday.
Have a great day. Prayers for those in need.
Love and hugs to all.....connie d
