Frigid Friday Outside but Warm Hearts and Toes Inside-
Nancy,
Stay warm. We are getting colder weather here, but it is barely coat weather. Today, I'm taking DH to the transplant doctor. If my hubby's right eye has healed enough, then the surgeon will transplant to healthy corneas onto my husband's eyes. When he gets the transplants, it will be the first time in over a year that he will have vision in his right eye. His left eye is almost completely blind now, so we are hopeful. The person who donnated his or her eyes will never know how much help he or she is doing. I have always been a donnor but now I have talked my sisters into doing the same.
Well, that's it. I'll be on the road for three hours there and three back. I'm taking my Ipad and a text book and my macbook just incase he gets his eyes. That way, while he is recovering, I can keep myself busy. The surgeon said we will only stay in the hospital eight hours and then be on our way home.
Everyone, stay warm today.
Nancy I am so impressed with your story telling, your words paint pictures. Grateful you are feeling better. I had some nerve damage during my breast reduction and the pain it caused was like a toothache. I was so relieved when it ended.
I know how hard it is keep out of budding relationships with our kids. I was not pleased with our son Angus's last Gfriend. She was very high maintenance, did not like fishing or being outside much. But I kept my mouth shut. Was not surprised when he decided to move to MT without them as a couple anymore. Hubby & I both wish we had been more open in our opinion of our Sara's husband choice. We both felt he was too selfish and self absorbed, but Sara loved him and she wanted him so.Watching their marriage fall apart hurt deeply and hubby harbors such hate for the man, I remind him that Emma & Alex would not exist if they had not been together.
So happy Jeannie that your hubby is mending well and that the surgery has been successful.
It is lovely here, clear and a little cool. Should hit mid 80's later. Yoda got groomed yesterday and looks so good. He came home with 4 fleas, called the mobile groomers to let them know that and to check the cages and grooming area. We had him shaved from paws to neck, leaving his ears curly and his upper head long. The cut is perfect.
Our new grand daughter Lincoln is 28 days old and have rolled from her tummy to her back 2 times. Sara posted a roll over on FB and it is cute to see her work to flip. Our other Gkids had wonderful report cards and are doing very well in school. Both Emma & Alex finished 1st and 2nd in their age groups in the regional championship swim meets. We loved to see them interact with the new little one, holding and talking with her.
Hope you all have a wonderful Friday. Stay warm and happy.
Monica
