Terrific Tuesday....what is UP?
Hot and humid outside, the AC is on and I am comfy. Oh how I hated the heat before WLS, I was ALWAYS hot and sweaty. Now I am often cold, but can warm up quickly.
Got a fleece "shrug" from QVC, lepard print, pockets and arms...easy to wear and good looking, just perfect for early AM or night walks here.
We have been so busy since returning from our northern trip. The Medievil Faire was a delight. We both found some fun unique items. Yesterday we went to the outlet stores to find longjohn for our Angus in MT. We found incredible buys at Columbia, longjohns, socks, ski pants, and a down jacket. HUGE discounts on everything and then we got a military discount too. Shipped the stuff out as a surprise, we know he could use the $$$$, but the "boy" sold his winter coat and lost his longjohns (took them off while fishing, and they were gone). It is cold in them there hills.
Back to the chiropracter today and looking forward to him cracking me. Surprised at how sore my body is from the road trip. Hubby sore too, but not as bad as he could be. Yoda gets a hair groom on Thursday, he has curly ears and coat and looks cute, but the heat is still too strong here for him, so the coat comes off.
Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday, enjoy and love life.
Monica
So proud of you, Monica!
Yesterday I had a revision done on one of the scars from my arm surgery. Why did I think this wasn't going to hurt? Crap!!! What was I thinking? I've been awake since 3:45, too early for another pain pill and wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too early to be up. Oh well, it is what it is.
Very slow week at work, just two clients today, about 2 hours and $50. Hardly worth going in for, but it will be nice to see the girls and visit a bit. I'll take my knitting and hang around for awhile and then come home. Lots and lots of rain expected today, so I'll head home before the traffic gets bad this evening.
Ok....off I go. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

I got to my daughter's around 1:30 yesterday afternoon, and have been loving on my grandchildren. Isabel is four and in preschool. Lincoln turned 2 in August. His vocabulary is expanding daily.
I am babysitting Lincoln, while Izzy is in school this morning. My daughter picks her up on her way home from work. Daughter teaches half days at a school nearby.
Was not feeling well when I got here. My asthma was acting up big time, so my doc from PA called in a Medrol Dose Pack for me, and I feel better this morning.
I hope everyone has a blessed day.
Hugs,
Trish

Monica congrats on the continued sobriety and your return to warm FL.
Trish enjoy your grandchildren.
Today is orientation day for me at the Refuge. At the moment we are experiencing a power failure. I've got the generator running to keep the fans going and the frig working. Hopefully it won't last too long as I will have to turn everything off when I go for orientation. Also highs in the mid 80's today so I'll have to come back and turn the generator on to keep everything in the frig safe!
Hopefully solved the plumbing leak once and for all yesterday. Had to break out the teflon tape and wrenches but it seems to be holding. Got a library card at the local library. I only have to work 24 hours a week for my "board" here at the Refuge. At my previous volunteers efforts I worked many more hours to avoid boredom. Planning on exploring East Texas and Louisiana to avoid boredom this winter rather than work. Fighting the head hunger this week as I am anxious about new volunteer job.
The RV sites for the volunteers are in the middle of nowhere and not on the main part of the Refuge. They provide us with vehicles to get us to our jobs. This will be new for me. There are tons of snow geese and Canada geese down here as well as ducks. The morning starts with gun shots as the Refuge allows hunting on certain days from dawn until noon. Lots of cattle grazing in the area as well. The area is suffering from extreme drought so many of the ponds are dried up at the moment.
Enjoy your day ladies. Hope your day is pain free or reduced pain.

Glad you are getting settled! My husband will be home this weekend, and I'll be tied up with family stuff, but then he will leave on Dec 12th. Let's plan a get-together for sometime after then. I know Eileen wants to join us, too. Maybe we can pick a spot in La. that is not too far for all of us to meet.
Vic
my energy level is great today. Dh is hunting this morning, he was so excited. Sure hope he gets one.
I have been cleaning since about 7am, it feels so good to do something useful. Still am not allowed to vaccumn
or push a broom. but I can declutter. Amazing how much there is after sitting for 2 weeks!
Have a wonderful day all!!!

Good Morning Monica and Friends,
I've been kind of AWOL. It's that time of year when I have to force myself to engage with the world. Short dark days of winter bring out my "wanna be a bear" syndrome. It's started much earlier this year, but I'm being proactive.
Today I have my annual skin dermatology exam as I've had two skin cancers removed on my face. So I'm making it a fun day as it's 60 miles from home by taking two friends with me. After my 10am appt we'll visit a couple of small towns that have craft, antique and fabric stores. I've picked a special little cafe for lunch and it will be my treat. One friend's 62nd birthday is Friday and the other is a neighbor who is always willing in bring in our paper, water flowers, etc when we are out of town. We'll head back home in order to beat the sunset.
I've also started back at the gym since getting my doctor's release last week.
Had my annual PCP exam yesterday and my Vitamin D level was actually almost high! B12 was also high. I now have a 5 year spreadshirt of all of my "levels" so that I can watch them for changes before they totally get out of whack. My cholesterol was up about 10pts from last year, probably from lack of exercise the past two months. I do NOT want to have to go back on cholesterol meds so I need to get back on track with diet and exercise as I know that works to reduce my bad cholesterol. The good HDL was 65 which was up a few points. All in all a good visit.
I also talked with her about back pain, breast reduction possibility and she wrote everything down and thinks I might be able to qualify for insurance as I have a 5 year record of upper back pain. I've had chiropractic, massage, physical therapy, and cortisone shots none of which have had any long lasting effect. We'll see. Not ready to do anything else for at least a couple of years.
Must get in gear. Anyone interested in seeing my 3 grandkids I posted some new pics on my facebook page. Have a great day everyone!
