TGIF- What's Happening?

 Good Morning OFF Family,
My son's friend is definitely brain dead.  My son made it safely from Pittsburgh to his friend's hospital in Trenton, New Jersey tonight.

I saw my podiatrist Thursday, and he says the toes are still pretty swollen, which delays wearing a regular shoe till the swelling goes down.  I just hope that happens before the first really bad snowstorm.

Today, I am heading to my AA meeting.  I also need to tidy this place, because since my foot surgery, I have been laying low due to the pain and swelling.  I also want to clean out my car, so packing on Saturday will be easier.  I need to vaccuum it out, because Utley always rides shotgun, and his shedding made it a mess.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Hugs,
Trish

Good Morning Trish, OFFr Friends,

So sad about your son's friend and the sad reality that his family is facing, drugs and alcohol are so enticing to some that they fail to think clearly enough to realize that very often then end in tragedy, I remember those days and am grateful for the fact that I am living a different life today, but I've known many who are no longer here, wishing peace for those suffering as a result of this tragedy.

Friday's are my favorite workday, especially if I am busy and lately it has been busier for me and that is good.  I will probably make the noon AA meeting, as I am not sure whether I will be up to the 9 p.m. clubhouse hotdog meeting that I have been attending on Friday's, as I woke up first at 2:20, then 3:23 and from that point on I really did not go back to sleep and so I have a feeling that tonight will be an early one for me.

Nothing too much else, wishing everyone a wonderful day and for those facing serious life challenges, as always I wish peace and strength to get through them.

Hugs, Laureen

Good morning, Trish, Laureen, and my OFF sistas,

Trish, I'm sorry for your loss.

Laureen, you are one of the few people I have ever heard say they like to work on Friday!  LOL!  Most folks wish their weekend started on Friday!

Well, my uncle did pass away yesterday morning.  Mom and I are trying to decide if we want to go to the visitation on Sunday or to the funeral on Monday.  Either way, we have to go buy some new clothes today.  I sure am dreading the long drive to Houston and back again.  Seems that's all I do these days is drive.  However, I want to take Mom.  She hasn't seen many of this family in years and it would be good for her.  The older she gets, the more isolated she becomes.  I know travelling is hard on her, but we really need to make this effort.

Christie and Benny came for a visit yesterday and it was so good to see them!  They are coming back again today and they're going to spend the night.  My oldest daughter Carrie is at a conference in Austin today, so when it lets out, she is also coming to spend the night.  Hurray!  It will be like a slumber party!  I'm going to fix chicken and dressing for supper.  It will be good on a cold night.

My weight is up a couple of pounds this week and it's bothering me.

I'm enjoying feeding my deer again.  My special little doe remembers me each time and comes to eat out of my hand.  So sweet!

My husband tells me he may be a few days late with crew change this time.  Grrrrr.  He was supposed to fly home next Thursday.  Now it looks like it might be Sunday.  I am SO ready for that man to retire.

I'd better get a move on if we're going shopping this morning.

Love you all!

Trish and all of OFF,

Trish, please don't overdo it with your cleaning. Don't want t swelling to be worse.
Saw my surgeon yesterday. He thinks I have an ulcer. Will do a endoscopy on Wednesday while I'm in the hospital for the knee replacement. He said to drink protein fluids for now. I don't mind being on the liquids if it helps stop the pain. He said taking the omeprazole an hour before bed to stop the nighttime vomiting.

More good news. My lungs opened up last night. No more awful cough. Will continue my inhalers to make sure it does flare up again. My PCP said to stay on them for life, but right now I can't afford 170 dollars a month. I'm still trying to figure out how I will pay for my PT after surgery. Something good always happens to help me out.

Everyone have a good day. Prayers for those who desire them. Be good to yourself. You are worth it.    Mag

Good morning Trish and everyone....

Trish....I am so sorry about your son's friend. That is so sad for your son and all Sean's family. Still praying for all of them

Vickie...sorry for your loss as well. Hugs and prayers to you and your family.

There seems to be a lot of us in pain right now. Hope we all feel better soon.

I just spoke with my friend Mary this morning. Her surgery is scheduled for 2. She is nervous and a little scared, That is normal for anyone having surgery. She is having a double mastectomy and she is glad because she wants it all gone!!

I am trying to do a little laundry today. Not supposed to do stairs anymore then necessary so I won't be putting it away.

Wishing you all a good day. Prayers for many in need....special ones for some.

Love and hugs to all.......connie d

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Getting on here late today. Not having a good day ... money is so tight the pennies are squeaking. I slept til almost 1 p.m. today. Had to run to the credit union, get gas and a few groceries, then talk to the apartment manager. Life's a little tough right now.

I'm trying to get ahold of a guy who called me yesterday about a job, but the number he gave me doesn't answer ... nothing at all.  I emailed him back so I hope I'll hear back from him.

That's all from me. Work was crazy last night; one guy who was supposed to work didn't show up, so everyone had to do his pages. He didn't call in, either. This has happened before, too.

Well, that's all from me. Have a good day.

Evening Trish and OFF family...

Getting on here late and keeping busy at times doing the afghan when my hands don't hurt...

Trish so sorry to read that about your son's friend.

Vickie sorry that your uncle passed. He didn't suffer long so that is good. Hope your trip to Houston is safe and mom is ok for the drive.

Connie you be careful doing those stairs with that hip hurting!!!

CR****s me so now I forget who else I wanted to mention...grrrrr well you all know that I am thinking of you all!!

Work today was sort of fun...had a huge grin on my face all day long!!! Watchedfor the veterans to come in and when I spotted them I went up to them and shook their hand and told them THANKYOU!!! The look on their faces was priceless!!! One man had tears he was so happy to hear someone say Thankyou to him and shake his hand!!! Glad I made him happy!!! He said the Vietnam vets are the ones that needed the thanks the most because they got the ****ty end of the stick!!! I agreed with him. He told me him and his 3 buddies ran away and joined the service and became paratroopers. It paid more money he said. He told me he was the only one that made it back. So sad. He could have told me more but I had customers waiting so he had to leave. So so sad....

Off work tomorrow and then I work Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday. Then I am done!!!!!!!!!  So much to do here and then I have traveling to my new job for training next week and that will be exciting. Can't wait to get out of here!!!!

Off to bed soon so thoughts and prayers for all that need them!!!

HUGS
