TGIF - How's Everyone doing today?

Hmmm, no one posted yet. . .

I'm very unexciting at the moment. . .

Here at work, nothing out of the ordinary, been a bit draggy lately, myself, thinking it's the change of seasons and all the pain I've been in, good news is we get an extra hour this weekend and I can use it, planning on sleeping that extra hour, but we'll see.  Tonight I am making a trip to spend time at my son's house, see him and the grandbabies, not such babies anymore, but to me they are babies, then it will be home and probably bed, as I could crawl up in bed right now.

Oh well, nothing much to say, except that I wish each and everyone of you the best possible day and the peace and strength to get through those rough patches that life has a way of bestowing
on us from time to time, for some, it seems never ending. . .

Have a great day, Laureen

Good Morning Laureen and OFF Family,
I saw my doctor yesterday, and I have an ear infection, fever and nausea.  He put me on the right meds for it.  I hope they take effect soon.  Last night was miserable.

Today I will make an AA meeting and tidy as much as possible.  Tidying was put on hold after my toe surgery, because of the pain, and then totally went the skids the past few days because of the pain and fever.

I am hoping to be better tomorrow so I can head to Villanova to see my nephew's Special Olympics Fall Soccer Tournament.  Villanova University holds the largest student run Special Olympics event in Pennsylvania.  They create an Olympic village with activities for the athletes between competitions, and have a dance for them on Saturday night.  The athletes and coaches stay at a nearby hotel and commute to and from the campus.  Students serve as security, and guides for people finding their way around the campus.  Also, each team gets its own set of student cheerleaders who make signs for them, and is at most of their games, befriending the athletes.  I really want to be there for some of it.  It's a huge event because all the Special Olympics athletes who do Fall sports in Pennsylvania are there.

Gotta scoot.

Hugs,
Trish

Good morning Laureen, Shirley, and Trish!  And to my OFF sistas to come!

Ahhh, Happy Friday to all you working gals.  Oh, I remember how much I used to long for Fridays.  The end of the work week.  The start of the weekend, with its beautiful leisurely mornings and time to relax.  I used to live for Fridays.

Now, of course, one day is much like the next, especially when hubby is gone, but I still feel the pull of Friday.

Not feeling too well this morning, but it's my own fault.  My eating yesterday was way out of control.  Worst day I've had since surgery by far.  I don't know WHAT was going on with me.  It's like I had a hormonal tidal wave.  Wow.  I apologize today for all my rants yesterday.  That's very atypical for me.

Today I'm meeting some friends for lunch.  They want me to pick the place so I can be sure I can get what I need there.  Isn't that sweet?  I just wish I felt like eating something!  LOL!  Maybe my appetite will pick up by lunch.  Right now, nothing sounds good and we don't have a lot of choices in this small town anyway.  We do have 5 Mexican food restaurants here, but I don't eat Mexican much anymore.  Hmmmm, maybe we could do the IHOP.

I've spent a lot of time dressing and undressing this week.  LOL!  Mornings are cold and I bundle up, but then afternoons are warm and I start shedding layers.  Then by evening, I'm cold again and I have to get in the hot tub to warm up.  I'm ready for the weather to make up its mind!

Yesterday afternoon my oldest daughter called me from a book fair she was at and we spent an hour on the phone as she walked around the children's book section picking up classics for Benny.  Oh, how I wish I had been there with her!  They had Bobbsey Twins and Hardy Boys and beautiful old editions of Aesop's Fables, Mother Goose, etc.  It's probably  a good thing I wasn't there, as I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to stop buying books!

Have I ever told y'all I used to own my own bookstore?  It was called A Novel Idea, and I loved it!  I traded used books and carried new children's books.  I got to read a book every day at work.  My idea of heaven.  Unfortunately, in this small town, there was never enough business and everybody on my staff got paid but me!  I may have made money on paper, but in actuality, if I got a $20 out of the cash drawer on Friday to buy my kids a pizza or go to the movies, that was a big payday for me.

But it was a great experience and my kids read hundreds of books.  If I did one thing right as a mother, it was to instill a love of books and music in my kids.

I'm so glad to read the Thankful posts each day!  Such a positive uplifting thread!  We all have enough struggles and trials that we go through; I think it's important to also acknowledge and remember our blessings.

Love you all!

Vickie,
I am in the same boat as far as changing clothes through out the day. Now I have a turtleneck top on. Later it will be short selves and tonight will be warm socks and sweatshirt.
I am the only one in my family that doesn't do major reading. Only read what is absolutely necessary.  Oh well, I have lived this long without reading much.

Good Morning Laureen and OFF-

I wonder if many our aches and dragginess are due to the change in seasons.  I can usually predict a cold front moving in.  I've been achey the last two days as a massive cold front moved into Texas.

At the present moment I am patiently waiting for the cat to come out from under the hotel bed so I can load him into the car.  The RV repairs should be done today and I'm anxious to get settled into the RV for the winter.  I'm planning on staying in this area for another week and then next Friday I will drive back northeast to the Anahuac area to settle in for the winter.

Not much else is happening for me other than cat wrangling.  Will be glad when that is over with.

Hi Cindi!

As always, I am just amazed at your independence and your resourcefulness!  I like to think that I can do 'most anything I need to, but I could never be as brave as you!  To come halfway across the country by yourself, to hook up and haul an RV around by yourself . . . girl, you are superwoman!  I can't wait until you and Eileen and I can get together.  We are going to have so much fun!

Praying for good weather to hold for you through the end of next week.  Be careful driving!
