Exercise For Function: Not a Drop
Some exercises I do to burn calories, some I do to fight stress, and some are for better body function. Since you all know that I do so much walking/running and dancing, and since I have told you about the stretching and breathing, I thought today, I would talk about the function part.
I do butt clinches. Yep, I tighten my buttocks several times a day and have for many years. It all started before weight loss surgery. I was having a little problem with my bladder. My doctor said that the problem could be fixed by doing kegals (probably spelled incorrectly). So, I began what was to become a life long exercise program that did work. After a week or two of doing kegals eight or nine times a day, my bladder began holding its own. But, over the course of doing the kegals, I also began contracting my buttocks cheeks. Consequently, when I lost all the weight, my butt never did sag (the only part of my body that isn’t all saggy).
Because I do the buttocks and bladder exercises so often and for so long, I do them at work, in the car, at home, and I have been known to clinch the butt during at the theater. So, butt clinches can be done about anywhere and any time as can kegals. So, I am going to put a challenge out there for all of you gals who either may have a little bladder problem or who may have a huge bladder problem: When you first begin doing Kegals, you might have trouble actually finding that muscle. If the muscle has lost its elasticity and is out of shape, when you begin tightening it, you may think that it cannot be done. Don’t give up. You may need to start by tightening it with your butt muscles first and later as those muscles develop, pull from the pelvic floor up. I promise you, once you begin doing the exercises, you will be pleased with the control you will gain in your girl parts, your bladder area, and the buttocks.
More on the elliptical today. Feeling a little light headed now. I better wait until later.
HUGS....connie d
my medical doctor has been trying to justify my plastics so my insurance will pay. He took pictures of my arms, thighs, belly, boobs, and butt and said, you know, your buttock muscles is really firm. I said, really. He said, yeah. Do you exercise. I said, but clinches. He said, you must do an awful lot.
I wish that I had been doing belly and leg ones all these years.
