The Thankfulness Game

This is something that I've participated in on FB before, but I thought it would be a nice thread for OFF, too.  In the spirit of Thanksgiving, for the next 30 days, I plan to post something that I am thankful for.  It can be a small thing or a large thing.  The point is to acknowledge the many blessings we have in our lives.  I hope some you will participate in this exercise and enjoy it as much as I do.  I'll start us off.

Today I am thankful for my surgeon, Dr. Garth Davis.  Due to complications from my earlier gastric banding operation in 1993, I had a lot of scar tissue on my stomach.  I had already been told "no" by 2 other bariatric surgeons before I found Dr. Garth.  But Dr. Garth is something of an expert in revising Molina bands and he said he could do it.  He was right!  Without Dr. Garth, I would still be morbidly obese and miserable.  So today I am thankful for my surgeon and my operation.

Today I am also thankful for MY WLS Dr Foote! I was also told No by another WLS because of scar tissue from a hernia surgery I had a few years prior to my wanting WLS. But Dr Foote said YES he would do it!!! So I am Thankful to Dr Foote and my having WLS 5 years ago and me having my life back again!!

Today I am thankful for my wonderful husband. 26 1/2 years of marriage, together for 6 years before that, and he has always been my biggest source of support and my best friend. These last six weeks recovering from my hernia operation and plastics has shown just how loyal, loving, and supportive he is. He has had to take so much on around the house and he has dealt with it all and still caring for me. LOVE MY HUBBY!

I am thankful for all the years I had Chuck in my life. We shared so much. I love and miss him every day. R.I.P. Chuck!!!

I am thankful for my great hubby also!    I got it right the first time thank the Man above.  Steve is not perfect, but he is a good guy  simply a decent human being.    The longer I am married to him the more I find about him to love. Going on 32 years here come Feb

     I'm grateful (and blessed) that I can now stand up long enough to do the dishes.

Great job, sistas!  That's the spirit!  I love this game.

Great idea, I am thankful for my life, reclaimed and going forward, sober 366 days and feeling good.
