 Happy Halloween,
I got home from work about 2 hours ago and was playing on the computer and decided to chime in and start our day.
Not much going on today. Just waiting for a call from my kids telling us that they are done moving. They are moving into a new apartment. They are moving into a two bedroom apartment in a victorian house that  is converted into 4 apartments they have the main floor apartment. It is somewhat bigger than what they did have. So now mom has a room to sleep in and not on he sofa.
I finally got my anniversayr presant. I got a new sewing machine. I wanted to sew a pillow case and fix some things and I got out my sewing machine  that I had and it wouldnt sew. It was all jammed up. wouldnt thread, would only go in reverse, would bunch up, on and on an] so I took it in to see what was wrong with it in and the guy told me it was cost 200.00 to fix it. I said what would you do forme me so he said he would give me 180 on a trade so I traded  it in. I got a nerw one for 200.00.
well my eyes are getting heavy.

Hi Carla! Long Time no see! It's not Halloween yet here, but an hour away. School will be a madhouse, but a fun madhouse. I'm going to dress up as a witch-not too, too scary. I have a killer witch laugh so I will be in demand. I avoid having candy in the house so we go out with friends on Halloween. We are going to Texas Roadhouse and the Rum Diary. It will be a long day. My eyes are also getting heavy so I'll say goodnight.

Julia,

Since I only have my students for fifty-five minutes MWF, I am passing out candy; however, before they get the candy, they have to perform.  So, today, the first five minutes of class, I demonstrate the five different techniques for using a comma and their performance will be to go to the board and write one sentence using one of the five types of sentences that use a comma.  Two pieces of candy will be given to those who can use a semicolon.

My DH and I are fortunate that we live on a busy road, so we have never had trick or treaters.  Plus, we keep our outside lights off.  Every once in a while, friends of mine will call and say they are bringing over a child or two, so I will keep a little candy just in case.  But, once the night ends, and once hubby has eaten his fill of the bite size candies, he takes them to work with him and leaves the bag in the break room.

Have fun with your students.

Hi Carla, Julia and my OFF family to come:

I had a rough night at work ... we only have three people on our team on Sundays, and I had a lot of pages on a night when I was draggin' ... got only two real hours of sleep last night (or early in the morning), then maybe an hour in naps total .... then my tummy was bothering me on and off. I bought some benadryl (or store-brand benadryl) and took one when I got home, so hopefully that will take care of the itchies tonight (also, it could knock me out).

I was hungry when I got home but I'm too tired to eat much (I did eat something, but need to go to bed now).

Anyway, off to sleep ... hopefully, to really sleep this time.

Have a good day. Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to all. Sober 365 day and so proud of me. I am very excited for my success at fighting against drinking. Thank you all for helping me stay powerful and on the right track. You will never know how deeply I appreciate and am grateful for your words of hope and belief in me. Many of you here sustained me and special thanks to Karen C for all the private messages to me that I could crawl up and win my battle.
I have been busy getting ready for our trip. Excited is an understatement. Our children got hit hard in Massachusetts and the snow caused great damage to trees. Worried about loss of electricity for the little baby and no heat, but they finally got warm late yesterday. My winter stuff is big on me, but dressing in layers is fine. I am always amazed at how I used to be hot all the time and now I get cold and stay cold. I appreciate my belts.
How nice for you Carla to get a new sewing machine. You will put it to good use.
Well lots to do and places to go. Traveling Bra is ready and willing.
Stay safe and enjoy your Monday, Monica.....1 year sober yeah!

Congrats on a whole year of sobriety! Beating any addiction takes a lot of courage.

I admire your courage, stamina and stick-to-it-iveness (is that a word?). You are an amazing woman.
