From a Piece of Work: It's my surgeryversary!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, but what have you done for me lately?

I miss the tightly-crafted essays and some of the drama you used to share.  And there a few rants in our past as well.  And maybe an imaginary friend or two, although my memory is often faulty.

Isn't it amazing that we don't have to rely on drama to hide the misery of our old, fat lives?  And isn't it amazing that we still have the habit of coming back here, just to check on the others and remind ourselves of what a long road it has been.

I hope you are describing a tenure track position, I know you have worked industriously for one.  And I pray (Yup, I pray.  Deal with it.) that your husband's eyesight is resolved quickly and positively. 

On the occasion of all the five-year-celebrants: Here's to more vitamins and fewer prescriptions for all, and long may we wobble!

How the hell are you?  Yes, I have a very secure tenure track position that affords me a very nice schedule and an even nicer pay.  It has been a long road and for so long we lived on my DH's pay and a TA position with a fellowship that barely kept us out of the poor house.  So, we are quickly learning to join middle class once again.

We are the O Sixers aren't we.  Don't be a stranger and please send me messages; I love hearing from all of those people who were an integral part of that first year.  

My curse in life is being taken the wrong way.
