Monday
It Monday again ,,,Time to rise and shine. I am sitting here drinking my decaf hazelnut coffee and planning my day ..I have payables at work so will have a busy day.
I want to get a pedicure too and I need to look around for a good price on a electric blanket for my mom . She needs one and I want to get her one as she is always cold now since she is on the blood thinners.
I hope that when I am old someone will try to help me as I do her, She cant get out much and so all I can to make her life better I do , SHe did mine for so long as I was growing up so now I try to return the good deeds and love to her . I guess I mean I try to go the xtra mile for her so she can have an easier time in her old age.
Have a safe blessed day today ladies and be good to someone you love .
OH and I have a new hobby LOL I am teaching myself to knit.. SO far only knit and purl but that is all i need to make this scarf I am working on ..
Hugs and prayers to all in need

Good for you Shirley, teaching yourself to knit. I know I find that if I keep my hands busy, I am less apt to think about eating something -- so it's a good thing.
Lonely weekend -- guess I'm back to that. Did go to church, and made some food for this week, then in the afternoon yesterday I took a drive out in the country where my son lives -- so sunny and beautiful.
We sat on their deck (they live in a wooded area) and it was so pleasant.....had a good talk too.
Off to the job this morning -- looking forward to that.
Hope you all have a great day -- prayers and good thoughts on the way,
Pat r.
You are so close to a year. Way to go. So proud of you. You go girl.

I had a really nice afternoon at my nephew's soccer game. His team lost, but they played hard. Weather was picture perfect for soccer. Was supposed to go to a memorial evening in honor of my brother who died five years ago this past weekend, but I opted not to because my foot really hurt, and I did not want to be around a lot of heavy drinking as I am not wrapped too tight right now. Maybe next year. My baby brother died five years ago at the age of 40 of massive blood clots in his lungs. Last year, I was in the hospital with my own blood clots and pneumonia.
Today, I am heading to the lab to get my coumadin level checked. A friend from church is driving me. On the way home, we are stopping at Ollie's, a discount store, to get some bargains. Then, I will rest and crochet.
Shirley, good for you for learning to knit. I knit baby blankets and scarves. I also crochet. I am still working on my granddaughter's bedspread. It is getting big. Soon, I won't be able to carry it to AA meetings, or waiting rooms. Then, I will be working on Special Olympics scarves, for their winter games. Each state collects homemade scarves. I will get the link for everyone. http://www.scarvesforspecialolympics.org/
I hope to make several for Pennsylvania Special Olympics.
Hope everyone has a blessed day.
Hugs,

Have you considered getting your mom a heated mattress pad, instead of an electric blanket? I have heated mattress pads on all my beds. I love them! So does my mom, and she's 83. Unlike electric blankets, mattress pads do not get "hot spots". They generate a soft, gentle warmth up from beneath you. Put a down comforter on top of your top sheet, and you will be enveloped in a lovely soft warm cushion of comfort!
I have tried that knitting! I can knit and purl, but much prefer to crochet. I have made a couple of things knitting, but have never really mastered it. Good luck! Hope you love it!
Well, we had one brief night at home sleeping in our own bed, and now it's off to Houston again today. Sigh. So much driving I do these days! Hubby flies off to Saudi Arabia again this afternoon. Double sigh.
Got lots to do this morning to get him packed and ready to go. I'll catch up with you all again this evening.
Love you all!
Had a busy weekend, Tony and I went to the movies and saw Moneyball on Saturday, it wasn't bad, but you've kinda got to like baseball to enjoy it, told Tony, he picked the last 3 movies, next time it's my turn, then we went to Longhorn, where I had a most delicious burger and then it was home to relax for a bit until he left for work, after which I ran errands, made a pot of split pea and smoked turkey soup and then went to an AA meeting. Yesterday I got up, did a heavy cleaning of the house in preparation of a friend who has allergies visit next weekend, though I will have to spot clean come Thursday, darn Roxie fur, after cleaning, it was so beautiful outside that I called my neighbor Judy to ask if she wanted me to pick her and Maggie (her dog) up to go to the big dog park and off we went and the dogs played together, along the many other dogs that were there, in the water, out of the water, up the trails, when we left, we had all the exercise we could possibly need and then when we got home, I went to finish my laundry, when dear old Roxie girl jumped up on my stripped bed, she was dry by then, but she got sand all over my mattress cover, so I had to drag the vacuum out all over again, finished the laundry, remade my bed and then met my friend Owen for coffee before our AA meeting, home figured out what I was bringing to work for breakfast and lunch and then to bed. . .
So today has me here at work, darn wrong the way Monday's just come up on you so quickly, but today I will make a nooner AA meeting and then not sure about the after work thing, as it is my DIL's birthday, but there is a good chance I will be going home and I have some baking I want to do this evening, some overripe bananas that need to be used and some carrots I grated to make either muffins or something with, gotta look for a good healthy type recipe for that last one.
Hope everyone has a good day and for any facing challenges, I wish you peace and strength to get through it.

Shirley...I envy anyone that can knit ...I tried several times to learn and I am hopeless at it. Now my fingers are too arthtitic to do it.
My little Gracie is sick today. She didn't feel well last night complaining of a sore throat and headache. She got up at 3 AM still hurting. Poor baby, no school today. She is all snuggled in her bed and just had more Tylenol. I can tell when she is sick she doesn't want to get out of bed and doesn't want to go to school!!
Today is laundry day so that will be about it for me. I wanted to go close out my checking/savings account at Wells Fargo but it will have to wait until Grace is feeling better. I am not happy with WF and all the new charges they will be passing on to customers. I am going to the local small town bank here instead. Anyway it is a pain to have to drive to another town to get to a WF.
Wishing you all a wonderful day. Still praying for those in need. As always some special prayers going up as well.
Love and hugs to all....connie d
