Good Morning Shirley and OFF Sisters,
I had a wonderful evening at Bible Study last night.  What a challenging lesson it was for me.  I love when that happens.  We also chose Secret Sisters, which should be fun.  We also chose some ministries to participate in.

Today, Mom is going grocery shopping for me.  I also need to get her to take me to Walmart, because my toaster broke.  I also want to see if she would take me to the Amish Market nearby, to get some apple cinnamon bread.  It is out of this world toasted.

My foot is feeling better, not 100% yet, but on the mend improvement.

Hope everyone has a great day.  Blessings all around.

Hugs,
Trish

My oh my, fall has arrived hasn't it? We're home from St. Louis where it was almost 80 each day. My cousin there says the weather has since changed; much cooler. It's almost 7am and still no sign of the sun. That's the hardest part for me. Not the cold, but the short, dark, dreary days.

I brought apples home from my daughter's and got up at 4am; couldn't sleep. I've already put about 8 quarts of apples in the freezer for crisps, pies, and cobblers this winter. The dehydrator is whirring away drying more.

I'll stop by the concord grape vineyard later today. Not that I'm cheap but the last few years I was so late to the vineyard that the grapes that were left were free. I like to make grape jelly and if I make the juice now I can freeze it and make jelly later. I've been using a lower sugar pectin that uses one half of the sugar of a regular recipe. We don't use much jelly but it's nice for gifts during the holidays.

I'd also like to make some more salsa if the roma tomatoes are still available.

I plan to start back subbing in another week or so so I'd best get as much of this done before then as possible. It's something I enjoy doing and always reminds me of my mom.

I'm feeling good. Most of the swelling from my thigh lift is gone and I plan to start back at the gym in the next few days. My final post op in Seattle is Oct 31. I'll be glad to be through with that!

Hope you all have a nice weekend!

Howdy again!
What a nice fall day here. Tonight our grandson in Camden Military Academy has a football game in Raleigh. Our DIL and those 2 grandsons are driving up to watch his game and bring him back to J-ville for the weekend. Really only about a day. I have to take him back to SC Sunday afternoon. It will be nice to see him. Tomorrow we will all watch the Oregon Ducks kick butt. During half time (or maybe before the game) I will be serving standing rib roast, mashed taters, green beans, crescent rolls and a pumpkin roll for dessert. Our son will be hunting, of course, so the dinner would probably have to be during half time. Apparently the food at Camden is not real yummy, so a good home cooked meal will be welcomed.
Trish, please take care of that foot. I know you can't drive with it yet, but try not to overdo in other ways.
I hope everyone else is having a grand and glorious fall day, too.

Hi Shirley and my OFF family:

Getting on here late. I went out to see "Moneyball" this afternoon. Good movie ... made me understand again the love affair with baseball. If you love baseball, it's a good movie to see. Otherwise, you might not understand it. But Brad Pitt is very good. The story is great ... like I said, you remember why you love baseball.

I wasn't sure if I was going to go ... I wanted to but then I got up with a little IBS. It went quickly, though, and I went to the movie, then picked up a couple things from the store. I had planned to make something tomorrow for our Election Day potluck, but I think it's going to wait for tomorrow. Maybe apple bread.

It was gorgeous today, in the mid 70s. Juliette is sitting by the sliding doors sniffing the air. I'm watching the new "True Grit" having a movie night. Maybe I'll watch the original after it to compare.

Well, that's all ... just wanted to say hello. Have a good night.
