Sunday Morning...What's Going on with You?

Hello, everyone! I thought I’d start the day off by popping in.  I didn’t sleep well again so I’m up very early, folding laundry, watering my plants and working on more research for a book of mandalas.  SillyRose is still sleeping a lot.. I’d guess it is from the pills and the liquid flea meds she has been getting because we took her yesterday to the new vet down the road..what a treat..only 3 minutes drive away instead of 30 minutes of hearing the poor creature howling in nervous distress.  Silly has been staying very close to us and sleeping a lot.  But the fleas are gone....whew!  Must have come from that tiny runt kitten Ruby which we were hand feeding since a coyote got her mother…the other four babies thrived but Ruby refused all solids and at 4 months was still drinking milk only.  JB would bring her inside while he heated her formula in the microwave *rolls my eyes*…and so that’s how poor LilyRose caught da fleas! We have had such a cold miserable wet weekend here...such a quick change from the summery days of last week. Because of the rain, we chose to not drive up to Quebec for a visit.  Though it is very windy here as well, only some of the trees have barely started changing in colour.  I do plan to get a bushel of apples soon to make apple sauce, pies and apple crisps for the freezer.  Derek’s girlfriend makes cheese bread at work and usually sends a loaf over for us to enjoy. I allow myself one slice toasted every other day…tastes so much better than store-bought bread! Danny emailed me to say he is going with the Flying Club to Myrtle Beach for a week….four airplanes are going and they all take turns flying….this will also add to Dan’s recorded experience towards his Rec Pilot’s licence. The sixteen men have rented a condo down there and will have a great time, I’m sure…Danny deserves a holiday.  Derek just got in…yes, it is after 4:30 am…from working at the club and he is tired, being on his feet since 7 pm there. I’m actually enjoying staying home more.  Way too much to do so I’m never bored at all..never do get bored actually..life is just too interesting..I never understand that when people say they are bored.  Well, I've done my folding and my green tea finished and I may try to sleep again.  Enjoy your day..each and every one of you..special prayers, healing energy and hugs to those needing them. Jimi Hendrix said  "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." Nancy B

Good Morning Nancy and OFF Family to Follow.

It sounds like your cats/kittens are keeping you hopping.  I remember when I got Ellie,at one month old.  I had to take her to school with me, and my students helped care for her.  Unfortunately, my allergies did not allow me to keep more than one,  I would have rescued more but couldn't.

Now, I have my Utleydog,  He is a piece of work.  Totally hyper at times, and has OCD where he licks everything and pants like he ran a marathon.

Anywho, I am chilling here with Utley,  Later on, Mom will come over and we will play Scrabble for a while,

Gotta scoot,'

Hugs,'
Trish

Good morning Nancy B and Trish, and all to follow:

Up early, my usual 6 a.m.  Our church service has been consolidated to just one service at 9 a.m. so I am killing time on the 'puter.

It was just like a winter day here yesterday, severe winds and very cold....broke down and turned the furnace on finally.

Thank you everyone for the lovely comments on the baby bib.....I've been cross stitching for probably 20 years....the bibs are quite easy compared to some of the pictures I have done.   I did one of my step grand daughter's dog that was charted from a photo....there were over 40 shades of brown alone in that picture and it took me six months to fini****I vowed to never to anything that complex again!!!!

Taking my son and DIL to the local Mexican eatery for lunch today.....will probably be my last meal as I start the prep tonight for a colonoscopy  early Tues. morning -- tomorrow is clear liquids only.....I hate the prep but it's necessary and once it's over, the test itself is a breeze...  It's been 10 yrs and my PC has been bugging me all year to get it done.

My friend is still in Oklahoma but hopes to be back this week....the son-in-law is home but needs assistance so they are looking for someone to come in and help.  I'm sure missing him.

Time to get my yogurt and then off to church.
Have a wonderful Sunday.

Hugs,

Morning all, sober 350 days and so proud of me.
Not much going on. Hubby has horrible cold. He is not a happy camper at all. I will keep a very low profile when he is like this.
Hope all have a blessed Sunday.

Good morning Nancy B and my OFF sistas,

It's foggy here this morning.  Sitting up on top of this hill, it feels very isolated.  Can't see the lake at all right now.  Just an ocean of gray fog.

Butch had another good night.  Today we get to remove the dressings for the first time and actually see his knee.  He's looking forward to a shower, too.  But he seems to be feeling fine and is hobbling around using just one crutch this morning.  He'd like to try walking without any crutches, but I won't let him do it.  Silly man!  Always trying to push the envelope.

Oldest daughter is still with us this morning, but she'll be leaving to go back to Waco today.  Youngest daughter and Benny went home last night.  So it will be just us two old folks again this afternoon.  Think I will tackle stripping the wall paper in our master bedroom today.  Just have that one wall left to finish in there.

We made good progress on the bathroom remodel, but of course, it all had to stop for Butch's knee surgery.  I doubt we will get the floor tiles laid, but hopefully I can get in there and finish mudding the walls (mudding is no where near as much fun as it sounds, sistas!), then prime them and spray on the orange peel texture.  So I have another busy week ahead of me.  Butch will "supervise" my every step of course.  Oh lordy.  Pray for me to have PATIENCE, will ya?  LOL!

Scale was kind to me this morning and I dropped another half pound.  Just .2 lbs away from losing a full 80 pounds since February!  Oct 22nd will be my 8th month surgiversary.  I see on OH where other people have lost it faster, but I am very pleased.  I am wearing a size L now!  Since I'm 5'10", size L is about right for me.  I'm never going to be a "little" gal, but I'm very happy with my new size and shape.  When I walk up to a grocery store or dept store with those big glass windows, I can see myself looking "normal" now.  I used to avoid looking at my reflection at all costs.  I just didn't want to know!

Well, time to cook some breakfast for my little family.  I hope and pray each of you has a wonderful Sunday with your loved ones today.

Love you all!

Hi Nancy and my OFF family:

Strange occurrence this morning: I was ready to read the Sunday paper after going through all the ads, and it was the Saturday paper. Yup, that's right. It had the Sunday ads and the feature section (in Monroe, it's not much of a feature section, but it's there), but the news section was from Saturday. I thought it was kinda strange because there were football scores from Friday night on top; then I saw the date. I thought maybe I had picked up the wrong paper, but then the feature section was right. Oh well, the carrier brought me another one. Hope this is right.

Not much else going on. Back to work tonight. It was rather low-keyed yesterday, kinda quiet. Talked with my brother and Mom this morning on Skype. It's 88 and sunny here so I'm still in capris and t-shirts.

Anyway, I'm going to finish my coffee and read the paper ... hopefully, the right one. Have a good day.

Good afternoon OFF family, Happy Sunday!

Did Praise Team at church today, one of the "elders" is just a grumpy old fart if I say so myself, he is passive aggressive in so many ways and I don't back down from him. I was harmonizing on a song and his daughter complained and he spoke up. I explained it was me going on the higher note and he said "it sounds awful". This man apparently has no filter and no ear for music. And he is suppose to be a leader in our Church! Ugh...
I refused to back down from him, he's always gotten away with ill-gotten behavior and I won't let him bring me down to his level. So my hubby offered to stand next to them and I told him yep that's fine with me. LOL

After wards we had soup/salad luncheon at church. He stayed away from me and didn't even look me in the eye. Good Christian Behavior at it's finest I say! Oh well...I'll stop *****ing about it. Life goes on and this man will not bring me down.

Went to Wal Mart after church and stocked up on vitamins, I like to keep extra vits in my house, it's just something I'm anal about. Then we went over to see our new grand-baby for a while, then back home to get ready for work. Busy day and I was ready for a nap when I left for work!
Hopefully I will go home and just head for bed and not stay up to watch the boob tube. But my doggies like to sit  on my lap when I get home for a little petting' and loving.
Everyone have a great evening. Hugs and prayers for all in need. Debbie

Yep, that's a classic example of good christian behavior.

I was aware of "the culture" of some people at this church. When the Pastor spoke once he said "some people will hurt you the more involved you get". Yep, I get it! So Christian he ain't!!!
I will rise above his BS but I won't take his crap! I'm a tough old broad.

I totally understand why some people don't go to church. I like having a church family, it's important to me. Now this brother in Christ...he must be my "wicked step-brother"! LOL
