BACK FROM THE PAIN DR VISIT

Well I went and and back now...dr felt my back and did some poking and proding and asked lots and lots of questions. So it all boils down to my having the onset of fybromylasia. Not sure if I spelled that right or not and right now I don't care if I did or not...anyhow the dr gave me a new drug to try. Savella. I start tonight. Anyone here ever try it? If so how did it work for you? So hope this drug works for me and not give me problems like the Cymbalta did! AND my insurance will cover it for me if I can take it!

So that is it for me for now. Will keep you posted on how it works for me.

Good luck with the new medication Judy and fibromiaglia, or however, it is spelled is no fun, as a matter of fact, my one roommate has it and she was sure that was what I had, until she did the trigger points thing with me.

Thanks Laureen. I tried the Cymbalta and it really helped the pain go away! BUT it made me do things I did not remember doing! Dr took me off it right away!! So hopefully this one will not make me do things like that! Just take the pain away!

Yeah I was hoping the dr was wrong about it but he wasn't! Damit! He did all sorts of things to me today and he said its onset of fibro...and this weather is not helping me at all. Soooo sighs...I just hope this Savella works for me and doesn't give me the fog like the Cymbalta did!!! I read that it could give me nausea. Great!! I remember the first night I took the Cymbalta I had the heaves so bad I thought I was gonna throw up my feet!!! TMI sorry. Just hope its not like that tonight if it hapens!!

Glad you got evaluated. Why isn't workman comp covering this back injury/pain. You told us you hurt your back at work trying to lift the freezer door. Or am I crazy mixed up maybe.
Hoping this new medication makes a difference and all positive.
I have asked that the VA put hubby on Cymbalta, we will have to fight for this. It is a VA approved drug but you have to jump through hoops to get it. Maybe the rheumatologist will try this.
Feel better, that is all we all want for you.

Monica I do not know why they haven't even mentioned their helping me out at all!!! Lord knows I have told every manager there what happened!!! I will talk to HR and see what she says about it. So far I am out $75 for co-pays already. I am so broke now I can't afford much more of this dr visits.

Good luck getting your husband on Cymbalta and the VA paying for it!! It IS VERY EXPENSIVE!!! And IF he gets on it I hope he doesn't have problems like I had!!!

Thanks Monica...HUGS

I was sure you had fibromyalgia. Part of fibromyalgia is something called fibro fog (you can look it up). You get a little spacey. When I read that, I said, "Well, that explains me. Now I can say, 'It's fibro fog. I'm just confused.'"

I have heard of Savella, don't know much about it. Here's a link:

Hope it works for you.
