My hubby and I remember Morgan and your family each day. You have touched our hearts. Glad she is doing better and that your son found a place near by. You sound so good and that makes me smile, thanks

Monica, thank you, I do think of you & DH often. I hope & pray you have a wonderful trip north, to see the new baby & the grandkids. They are all such a blessing from God. I always said they were a reward for surving our own kids!!!

Nan,

I'm so happy for you and your family.  This trip is very much needed by all of you, I'm sure.  So glad to hear that Morgan is still doing better.

Not sure what my schedule is going to be like for October, now with my husband's upcoming knee surgery, but keep me posted on your travel plans.  I sure would like to get together for a visit with you if we can manage it!  Maybe we can meet halfway for lunch one day.

I know your girls are going to love seeing you in person!  Phone calls and emails just aren't enough sometimes, are they?

 Vickie

Good morning everyone! A bright sunny crispy day here in Niagara…I love the Fall season. They are harvesting grapes, apples and pears here. We had some dew on the car windshields last night so we can see the night time temps are getting into one digits. We had a great LifePath group meeting last night…everyone is coming along nicely…feeling empowered. Today is an easy day....we have to vote first, in town, then I am meeting a sorority sister from another chapter for lunch. We are going to Queen Charlotte’s Tea Room…I always sit on the lower level because, on the higher level, is the pastry display...no point in making myself tempted. I have never had a one-on-one  with this lady so I’m really looking forward to spending some time getting to know her better. She had breast cancer last Fall. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month here in Canada…not sure if you have that as well in the States.  Fani Madill had written a children’s book about a little girl watching how her mother’s breast cancer affects the whole family. The book is called “My Mummy Is Sick” and I did all of the illustrations for that  book. We published in 2001 and the book sold out and Fani & I donated ALL funds to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.  We would love to republish but we do not have the finds for that.  I will be calling Fani this afternoon to discuss publishing the book ONLINE this time. This weekend is the Canadian THANKSGIVING and I have ordered a fresh free-range chemical-free turkey. I plan to make up meals after and freeze them for when I do not feel up to cooking. Of course the boys reminded me to make EXTRA stuffing *s*.  I’m still feeling well but having to force myself to eat lately. I’ve found myself using my hot chocolate protein drink a lot.  SillyRose has started a new custom-sitting under my computer chair and hiding under my long skirt.  She likes to paw my bottom hems (ankle-length skirt and slip) and slam her body against my legs as if to demand attention…very strange. I wonder if she senses my cancer.  Cats are very sensitive to human emotions. While I am out, I will check out the local farm stands. I want to buy a bushel of crispy apples…Macs or Mutsuis..they make such wonderful (sugar-free)pies, crisps and applesauce and I love warm chunky applesauce with cinnamon. Well I’ve off now…..enjoy your day! Special hugs and blessings to any in need. Nancy B

Morning all, sober 340 days and so proud of me.
Traveling bra and new NY Giants Breast Cancer Awareness shirt back home after chiro visit for hubby. He is doing well. I go Monday for chiro eval for peripheral Europa, left over from being an insulin dependent diabetic. Also damages to feet and legs from crossing my legs....a BIG NO NO. Hubby saw his pcp yesterday so consult orders in for rhematologist and ENT. He is worried about his vocal hoarseness and congestion.
Yoda got to go with us and he loves to ride in the big truck. Cool temps make his travel possible. Amazing how receptive stores are to dog visitors here in the south.
Our eldest daughters pregnancy is going well, baby should be here soon. We are making plans for our trip north. It was 39 there this morning.....we will have "fun" readjusting to cold. We got Yoda a sweater...he has never been exposed to colder weather and we want him to be comfy.
Our Gkids called last night all excited about the Halloween packages we sent. Lovely how little gifts can create such excitement and joy. The masks are perfect for the costumes they have decided to wear for trick or treat fun.
Really beautiful weather here, heading for pool soon. Cooking chix soup and the house smells wonderful.
So proud of you Vickie, enjoy the surprise you doctor will have with your visit today. Pat proud of your weight loss too.
All be well and enjoy this Thursday. Glad to have this place to come and share MY thoughts and feelings.

Good Morning OFF!

We're in Seattle tonight at our son and daughter in law's. Tomorrow morning we have a shuttle pick us up and we'll head to the airport and to St. Louis for 9 days. I am NOT taking my laptop. May have withdrawal but I think I can live without it! My cousin has a computer that I can use in St. Louis and when we're in Columbia, MO later in the week I'll just have to deal with it.

Had a great 2 days with the grands. Hannah sang me to sleep last night and it was wonderful! Briley is all about Papa Mike. I hardly get any attention from that one. He's the only one she'll snuggle with.

We're on our daughter's cell phone plan. We're due for renewal and we're making the move to i phones. Hopefully I'll not have too huge of a learning curve. The phones were "free" with the new 2 yr contract. Supposedly just an extra $15.00 per month per phone if we don't overuse it. Hope it works out that way. Mike didn't want the i phone so instead we bought him a refurbished "Rugby" which is supposed to be just about indestructible. Sure hope so as he is so hard on phones.

That's it from here. I'll check in when I get a chance this week.
