Morning OFF family!!

Well I have been up since 3 am because of some IDIOT driving their SUV through our building!!!!!!!! YES THROUGH our building!!!!!!! He must have been doing about 100 MPH because he took out a tree first then he hit the building and it ain't pretty at all!!!!!!! He ended up half way into my neighbor's bedroom!!! She lives in front of our apartment and thank GOD her husband is in the nursing home or he would have been killed!!!!! Also she sleeps in the living room and was not hurt!!!!!!! BUT her apartment is now off limits and so is the one above her!!!! They are boarding up the wall right now so it can't be looted. It is just awful!!!!!!!

Its cold here and after being outside since the accident I am froze!!! Drinking coffee to try to thaw out...not working!!! Its about 49* and windy...BRRRRRRR I have to work 8-430 and not sure how long I am going to make it today after only having a couple hours sleep!!

Back is still hurting me but looking forward to tuesday and the injections!!! Can I say AHHHHHHHHHHHH?? Oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talked to my mom last night and she wants me to come home for Christmas so bad so she can see me again. I don't see it happening. I don't have the money to travel back and forth this year. Wish I did have it. I would love to see my mom again and my family but the oney just isn't there to do it. Bummer.

Well time for me to get ready for work so you all have a great day. Thoughts and Prayers for all that need them!!!

HUGS

Morning all, sober 336 days and so proud of me.
So much going on for many of you. Prayers and real cyber hugs to those who are dealing with cancer issues. I have not seen Bev, from CT on line in a long time. Anyone know how she is?
Nothing planned here, very wonderful cold front came thru, it is 61 now outside. All our windows are open and I have my winter robe on..ha ha.
Need to get a sweater/coat for Yoda.....when we go to MA after our new grand daughter is born it will be COLD. Yoda is a southern dog originally from Mississippi so he hasn't experienced northern cold before. We want to keep him comfy. Looking for a NFL Giants coat if possible.
Enjoy this Sunday. May God infuse you with his/her love.

Good mornin', ya'll.
OMG, Judy! Such a blessing your neighbors weren't hurt. But, such a disruption of everyone's lives! I hope you can make it through your shift on little sleep. I remember when our kids were younger they could work a shift at work after almost no sleep. Ah, to be young again! And I hope an injection gives you some back relief!
As predicted, I didn't get much accomplished in my sewing room yesterday. I don't know why I even attempt it on weekends. I just gave up. I did get the peach afghan done, though. I can at least crochet while being a good hostess and visiting with 'company'. When our son comes for lunch and a nap during the week, I wait til he falls asleep and go back to my sewing. But on the weekends I like to hear what everyone has to share about their week. Our DIL is going through a rough patch at school and quite often needs to vent. Sometimes on the weekend she will bring her afghan she is working on and we crochet and visit in the LR while the men watch football, eat, yell and fart in the family room! Ah, the joys of having men in the family.
So, this morning, I will try to get another of the little things done on the costumes, before BLT Sunday gets into full swing.
I am learning that with this sleeve I have to go back to eating like I did when I had a new band. Just a few tablespoons at a time. But with this sleeve, even 1/4 cup of tomato soup fills me up. With the band you do a little p-b ing and feel better. I could just bend over the sink and the too much I ate just came rolling back out. Not with the sleeve. If I take one bite or sip too much I feel so miserable. It's like you ate an entire 5 course meal and you want to loosen your pants and lay down and moan for an hour. Not a feeling I enjoy, so I am learning to NOT over eat.
Well gals, I better get movin' for the day. Oh, before I forget it again...has anyone heard from Kristi since Irene came through NC? I am pretty sure she lives out where the hurricane did the most damage, and I think her parents live inland more. I haven't been on here as often as I used to so I may have missed a post from her. I am a little worried.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good Morning OFF-

Judy what a way to wake up in the middle of the night to such noise.
Monica congrats on the sobriety soon it will be one year.  Yoda will need a coat as the weather reports for the NE next week include lows in the 30's.
Grammylew - I learned to listen to those signals very painfully too.  I also learned to burp myself using my infrared massager.  Apparently the remodeled stomach needs to learn to burp again.  I did get an PM from Kristi.  Her house was okay but lots of cleanup for the rental properties.

The sorting is done at my Mom's house.  We worked all day yesterday in the sewing room.  There are a few minor things to move around today but the remainder of the day will be spent resting and hopefully traveling to visit our friend in hospice.  I know my Mom doesn't want to go but Frank asked me to bring her up and I think saying goodbye is important.

It's cool here in NC.  Today I woke up at 7:15 to the sounds of the loudspeaker blaring at the local triathilon (sp) going on at the lake where my mother's house is located.  As a former southern bell I have to say that waking people up before 9 am is tacky, tacky, tacky.  Anyway I'm up and will have a protein coffee for breakfast.

Tomorrow will be spent flying back to Maine.  I'll be happy to sleep in my own bed and with my furbaby Sylvester the cat.  I have to start my winter shutdown checklist to prepare to leave for the winter.

Have a great Sunday ladies, I hope all the teams you root for win today!

Cindi,

Be sure and let me know when you will be coming to Texas, and we'll try to plan a time to meet.  Are you driving or flying?

I had one of my infrequent sleepless nights last night.  Just could not fall asleep, even with tylenol PM....it was after 2 a.m. and I was up at 6:30...

I never thought I could miss someone so much as I miss my new guy friend....we were together 3 times and talked on the phone every day, now he's in Okla. since last Wednesday and I'm just lost. ...  I did get a message from him online, very brief -- he's not much of an online chatter. The SIL in still in critical condition and Jim said he's gonna be there a while yet.   Keep prayers coming.

Going to our new 9 a.m. service at church this morning, then a quick trip to Wal Mart for a few things -- need to get a cushion for my chair at work -- it's too low and can't be raised any higher....feel like my chin rests on the desk!

Cold here this morning -- 34 deg.   Time to start re-organizing my closet for winter.

Prayers and good thoughts to all,
Hugs,

 Good Morning Judy and OFF,
Wow Judy, thank God nobody was hurt in that crazy accident.  Sounds like someone may have had too much to drink.

I am heading to pick my son up at the train station, and we are heading to the Philadelphia Eagles game.  He got free tickets at work, and is taking me with him.  I am honored and thrilled.  Tonight, his high school friend got hold of some Phillies playoff tickets and he is going with her.  I will be watching from my warm living room.

Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Hugs,
Trish

Good Morning OFF friends!

Haven't had much of a chance to sign on lately. GrammyLew, thanks for asking about me. Things went well at our house, but did have lots of beach rentals with Hurricane Irene issues. Mostly wet ceilings and carpets, that brings on the mold and mildew problems. Judy, sorry you had such a rough night. Don't ya just hate stupid people?

Things have been crazy at home. I/we have Tuesdays and Fridays off and it seems like we are constantly on the go. My FIL is in the hospital, again. At 94 yrs old, the assisted living facility can no longer care for him. His needs are to complicated and he is very combative. The dementia is taking over and his mind is somewhere 40-50-60 yrs in the past. He wanders the halls in his wheelchair looking for my MIL, she passed over 3 1/2 yrs ago. He has scared several of the women residents in their rooms, thinking they are his wife. We are having a very hard time finding a skilled nursing facility that will accept him because of the combativeness. The sad thing is, he has always been somewhat violent and unpleasant. So we are not dealing with a sweet little old man that is displaying a change in behaviors, this is an enhancement of his normal attitude.

Last Friday, after visiting my FIL & shopping at the commissary, I got to pick up our 3 yr old granddaughter and have her over for a few hours. That was fun and she was a very happy little girl to spend time with Grandma and Poppa. I put a meatloaf in the oven and took her back home. As I was leaving my son's house, I got a call from the ER at Carteret General...my mother had fallen again, this time coming out of the grocery store. Fast forward dinner for my DH, kissed him goodbye & off I went in the opposite direction to see to Mom. No broken hip this time, she had just finished therapy for that. This time was broken front teeth, scratched glasses, stiches in her upper lip, scrapes & bruises on her nose and chin. She was treated and released. I got her settled, I finally got home around 11pm.

While at the ER with MOM, I was texting my brother & sister to keep them informed. My brother's birthday...his wife was going to fix him a special birthday dinner and the oven quit, so they went out to dinner...where she suffered an extreme gall bladder attack and he rushed her to the ER near their home in Va. She was admitted, had surgery on Tues, and finally released on Thursday.

Also on the 23rd, my DIL was admitted to the hospital in Milwaukee to be induced...10 days early...she wasn't due until 10/3. While I was with Mom, Amanda had a beautiful baby girl. Ellieauna Marie. Little Ellie weighed in at 8lbs 6oz, 21.5 inches long, and a strong set of lungs.

My weight loss is going well. Even when we are on the run, I take my water and a protein bar, just in case. My DH will even double check before we leave the house to make sure I have taken my vitamin, B12, and have sufficient fluids. He's my rock... But now, I have the "nothing fits me anymore" issue. Got to hit the thrift stores. Bought a pair of size 14 jeans at Ross' on Tuesday and they are already baggy, had to borrow a belt from DH today so they won't fall off. What a feeling! And I bought a sweater that doesn't have an "X" in the size...Woo Hoo!

All of you have a wonderful day and I hope to visit more often.

Hugs to you all,
Kristi

 Hey Kristi,
So glad to hear from you, and know that you are safe from, Irene's visit.  So sorry you are going through so many family issues.  Our parents have no clue how challenging it is for our generation.  Being in the sandwich with parents needing us, and kids needing us leaves us pretty stressed at times.

Congrats on your weight loss.  You are going great.  Keep up the good work.

Hugs,
Trish
