Happy Friday TGIF

Hey y'all:

It's Friday morning and I tried to go to bed early. It's Friday and payday, and although I don't have much left after rent, I do have stuff to get (groceries, prescriptions); after that, it's home to watch baseball playoffs.

It was hot again Thursday, in the 90s; supposed to be cooler today but it's still 69 degrees. I have had pain in back and knee on and off all day. Didn't do much all day; I did do laundry and take the garbage to the dumpster but that was necessary ... the garbage was really stinky.

So anyway, I went to try to sleep; I was sleepy, I thought, but as soon as I shut off the lights, I had a monster hot flash and came out to get my ice pack and some ice water. Now of course I'm cold. It doesn't take long.

So I've been out here in the living room watching shows I've DVR'd ... catching up on new shows: "Revenge" is promising, so far so is "Person of Interest."  Starting to get a little sleepy.

Well, have a good day. Hope yours shows more excitement than mine.

Good mornin', Eileen, and everyone yet to come.
Eileen, our son is having back problems, too. I took him to get a shot in his back this week. Made his butt and legs numb, the pain relief only lasted a couple of days. He can't get another for a month.
Well, so far I love my gastric sleeve. I truely can only eat a tiny amount before I am full. And I am still on liquids! I am a little concerned about the swelling and tenderness I still have in the back of my left hand and slightly up that arm. It is the hand that had the IV. I have a routine PCP visit this morning, we will see what he says. I called my Mexican doc and he is a little concerned and glad I am seeing my regular doc. Possibly an infection.
I'm back to working on my last 2 costumes for Halloween. I am ready to be done with them. With the few they bought last year on clearance after Halloween we will have 17 costumes. 8 women and 9 men. I hope they have lots of parties to go to!
I have been reading posts, if not replying. I know many of you are having problems and you are in my prayers. Cancer concerns, children, new babies, work, pets. I continue to think of all of you daily.
Have a fantabulous day!

 Hi Grammy,
Glad you are home, safe and sound.  Hope your PCP can help with the IV wound.  Keep ice on it till you get to the doc's.  Will pray for your recuperation period.

Hugs,
Trish

Grammylew-

I had similar swelling in my hand and arm after a procedure.  It turns out that I am allergic to Propofol which is a popular anesthesia.  I used warm compresses and ice packs to help with swelling.

Congrats on the sleeve!

Caroline, I used to get more than two days relief out of my shots (I got lumbar facet injections); more like about a month or so. I could only get these shots every three months. But they are $1,000 or so a treatment and my insurance doesn't seem to cover them, so I can't afford to get them.

Hope your sleeve continues to work for you; You could have an infection. I was told if my injection site or where they put the IV or any drugs was swollen, to use ice packs on it first, then hot compresses. Ice to get the swelling down, then heat to bring down the infection. If it's red, then it's infected. I got a shot in my right hand once when I got my back injections (they gave the meds in the hand in a vein or sometimes in the wrist); I always told the nurse not to put it in my right hand ... I had better veins in my left. She didn't listen, poked around in the right hand and bruised it badly. Then she decided, Oh, the left looks much more promising. Well, then I had a sore right hand, extremely bruised, for a good two weeks. And I'm right handed.

  Good Morning OFF,
I am awake and having trouble sleeping, so I am watching my NCIS DVDs and surfing the Net.  When I was in the living room, I was watching stuff I DVRed weeks ago.

Well, I went to my Bible study tonight and was really blessed.  We had some really good, hosharing.  We have about 15-20 women, and our backgrounds are varied.  I really appreciate every single one of them.

Friday has me trying to wake up in time for my AA meeting at 9:00.  After the meeting, I must head to the lab for my INR bloodwork, which I must do, or I will be miserable not knowing if my Coumadin level is okay.

Gotta scoot.

Hugs,
Trish

Good morning Eileen & Caroline. Eileen I love the way you describe payday, exchange day! My son calls his weekend with his kids, rent a kid. Seems that way. He has never missed a weekend or his time in the summer.
Well more news on Morgan. This time the Doctors say the tumor has shrunk a lot, that is wonderful news!! Today she is having her gallblatter removed & a liver biopsy. I sure hope & pray they are right this time. She is supposed to start chemo on the 10th. Time will tell. We all feel like we are on a huge roller coaster. I can't even imagine what goes on in her mind!!

If things go the way they are supposed to we will be out in Texas in 2 weeks. We will stay through halloween so will be there for my birthday, Morgans & one of her sisters. I am so excited.

Thank you all so much for your prayers, they do work!!!
Nancy B, you are in my thoughts & prayers for your upcoming treatments, Caroline, Good luck on your new surgery, Judy hoping you can get rid of the neighbors & back pain, seems like they both cause the same amount of trouble!!. For the rest of you. Prayers & good thoughts coming your way.

Nancy-

Wonderful news about Morgan.  Hope that it continues in the positive direction.  So much new treatments with confusing results can be confusing and roller coastery for family members.
