I'm up....been awake since 5 a.m.   Back to my awesome job today after two weeks off.....probably a big bunch of work waiting for me.

Rainy here this morning - heard rain most of the night.  The trees are already starting to change colors -- I love fall, it's my favorite time of year.

Nice retirement party for our lead pastor yesterday.  Lots of folks showed up.  Food wasn't too good -- 2 main dishes and both had pasta in them.....I don't do pasta much.  So picked out some chicken and ate the lettuce salad.

Finally met my guy friend face to face Saturday afternoon and I really like him.   He came over again yesterday afternoon -- wanted me to play the piano for him -- which I did, and he especially liked "Moon River".  Then we watched the Nascar race and did a little smooching....LOL

He's been really good for my weight -- I've lost almost ten pounds since we got acquainted!  Woo Hoo

Time for some breakfast and get ready for work.

Glad to be back with all of my friends here....have a great day.

Morning all, sober 330 days and so proud of me.
Special prayers for Carla today....successful surgery! and recovery!
Started the day with a bang and happy fun and loving.  Grateful hubby is feeling OK. No doctor appointments today.
Raining here, but that is OK.
Interesting that Mr Cain won the Florida poll.....we like what he has to offer and what he says.
Calling the WH as usual, MAD about military members having healthcare taken away from them and their family's.
VERY happy for Pat....enjoy your new friend and your 1st day back at work. Your vacation sounded wonderful.
Happy Monday all....remember to be good to you.
Monica My daughter Sara had a super baby shower, lots of friends and lovely gifts. Love abounds.

Good morning all.

Pat - how nice that your friend is turning out to be good. Smooching too. You go girl Lips

Tom's BP is so high that the machine reads ERROR. Now to decide if I gently convince him to see the doctor or tell him to give me $$$ to buy an all
black wardrobe.

We are having a guest speaker at the support group tonight. The Anesthesiologist will answer our questions. Two weeks ago we compiled some questions for him. This should be interesting.

Ready for work, Cats are fed and asleep. Baxter needs one quick walk. Off I go.

Kisses

Hi Shirley and All,

I am not thrilled to have a good old fashion head cold. I am feeling drained. Thinking of you all. Will write more when the head feels better. Too cold for me here in Indiana. Silly of me to only bring summer clothes. What was I thinking?   Hugs,m Mag

Good Morning Shirley and the rest of you OFFr's,

Had a good weekend, food prep, laundry, catching up on DVR'd television programs and then yesterday I took Roxie to the hiking trail dog park, it was so humid that when I was done, I felt like a wet dishrag and Roxie was worn out pretty much the rest of the day.  Then I went home cooked up some stuff and relaxed the rest of the day watching football, my team got beat, not happy about it, but guess you can't win them all, hopefully they learn from whatever it is that they did wrong.  Also attended an AA group anniversary where there was lots of food, made my selections based on what I know to be good for me and did not overdo, it was definitely a good food weekend.

I am very upbeat on this particular Monday in part because I am only working 3 days this week, as the office is closed on Thursday and I took Friday and next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as well, so Tony and I will be leaving on Sunday to spend 4 days at my son's beach home, which we will use as home base for some day trips, Cape May, Atlantic City and who knows where else.  It will be nice and I am looking forward to it, In the meantime, here and now I am at work, I got up went to the gym, got into work early today, had my breakfast of this awesome recipe I got from someone on the PA Forum and tried yesterday, Ricotta Apple Pancakes, 13 grams of protein, only 20 carbs in two 3 inch pancakes, recipe as below:

Ricotta Apple Pancakes

Ingredients
    3 eggs (large) separated

    1 whole egg
    1 cup ricotta (part skim)
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and 1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon or apple or pumpkin pie spice
    1 tablespoon Splenda
1/4 cup of whole wheat (or regular) flour
1 cup of grated apple (approximately 1 large apple)

Directions

Separate three eggs, beating the egg whites until stiff, set aside

Combine yolks, whole egg, ricotta, vanilla, baking soda, salt, cinnamon (or other as desired), flour, splenda together and when done fold in the egg whites.

Using a heated non-stick skillet, cooking spray, drop about 1/3 cup batter and coo****il golden brown, turning once.

Eat as is or serve with apple sauce or such other toppings that would compliment this.

Each pancake is roughly 100 calories, with almost 6 grams of protein and 10 carbs, so figuring that two of these are filling, that is roughly 200 calories, low fat.  A healthy alternative to the regular pancake.

the rest of today will find me making a noontime AA meeting, meeting with a sponsee after work for a little while and then home so I can do it all over again tomorrow, the work part that is ;)

Wishing you all the best possible day and for those facing challenges, I wish you peace and strength to persevere.

Hugs, Laureen

 Laureen,
That pancake recipe looks yummy, and easy.  I am going to try it.  I already copied it and saved it in Word.

Thanks for posting it.

Hugs,
Trish
