CYMBALTA UPDATE

Just got back from the dr and he took me OFF that drug!!! He said I was good to get it to his attention so fast with all that was happening to me! And with it being only 30mg that I was taking I don't have to be weaned off of it. He told me to keep taking my vicodin and topamax (which he gave me both scripts again!! because I threw them away by mistake!) and that I can also increase the topamax for the pain and also keep my weight down to help. So we will go from here and see what happens. I am not looking forward to getting that awful pain back again but being off cymbalta and those weird happenings I am happy about for sure!!! Hopefully it won't take to long for my brain to get back to "normal" again!!!!

Thanks again for being here for me!!

 Judy,
Glad you got the old prescriptions rewritten, and that the doctor took you off the Cymbalta.  I am on 120 mg a day, and it has done nothing for my pain.  Weird, huh?

Not sure what is causing your pain, but I see a pain specialist, and get cortisone shots and rhizotomies to help with pinched nerves and herniated discs.

Hugs,
Trish

It's funny, Trish, how drugs affect people differently. I'm on 60mg of Cymbalta daily, and it cuts my pain about in half. Plus, I find I'm not as spacy as I was; my focus is better at work. Now, I still have pain, basically when my legs are down or if we have a storm brewing (or if the humidity is too high ... well, this is La., the humidity is always high, but sometimes higher than othes) ...but I do see the difference.

I would love to go back and get the shots in the back; I found that did help, but insurance didn't pay for it, so I can't afford to put out $1,000-plus, so I have to rely on drugs. Crappy insurance, what can I say? I too have pinched nerves in my back, actually, bulging discs.

Hi Trish, I am seeing a pain specialist that is who is treating me for my pain. I have had the blocks done in my back also and for my sciatic nerve. Now when I had this all over pain in my body the dr had me go for the blood work and put me on the cymbalta. The pain went away and then after about 2&1/2 weeks weird things started happening to me and I went in to see him and tell him what was happening to me. That is why he took me off it. He is keeping me under watch. I love this dr!!! Just hope this God awful pain that I had before I started taking the cymbalta doesn't come back again!!!

HUGS
