Morning Julia and all t ocome
It the Sept 11 again...Do you know what you were doing 10 years ago?  I remember the impact of those planes .  I was about to head out to work , went in late that day and saw it on TV.  I was stunned as was everyone.
Ten years is a long time , yet it isnt .  I was single then, a different life all together back then . My oldest son was still alive then , my mom was in great health then, it was when I was fluffy before RNY, before so many things ...
I SO WISH I could go back and know what I know now.  I would have a REDO on alot of things..

VickieP ....your weight will fall off,,, it just takes time and to be honest the slower you lose it , the better for your gall bladder to process it .. SKINNY WISHES  going up for you

Julie, I so wish I had a daughter so be blessed that she wants you in the celebration.:)
Off to church this am soon where I will thank GOd for all my blessings.   I have so many that I forget sometimes when I get that woa is me going on :)
Have a wonderful day and remember to count your blessings ...If you think about the families involved in 911 then it sure is easy to do so
Hugs

Good mornin' ya'll. Everyone who has posted and those to come.
I am watching GMA and the rememberances of the terrible day 10 years ago. We lived in OR then and we were still in bed when our daughter called to tell us to turn on the TV. My cousin and her family are all members of The Salvation Army. Her husband still has major respiratory problems from helping at Ground Zero that day and weeks after.
I have spoken to my surgeon in Mexico. We are all pretty certain that I have a leak either in my port or the nearby tubing. Most likely caused by the fill guy in SC. I will be going to Mexico for a repair on the 19th. I am still trying to decide if I just want a repair or a revision to something else. I have had so much trouble trying to get a perfect fill like I had right after I got the band. I love the band, but if it isn't adjusted correctly, I may as well not have it!!
Our daughter is here. We went to SC to watch our grandson play football and then bring him here for the weekend. Well, for a day. We take him back today. We have had a good, but short visit. He had a chance to spend some time with his cousins, too. He loves this school and he is sooo growing up! Usually he and his cousins would stay up all night playing video games. Now he knows he pays the price for that for days. Having to get up at an early hour everyday makes you think about lost hours of sleep. And he has to get out of bed on the run and no time to catch up on sleep all day!
Better get my bacon going for BLT Sunday at G-Ma's.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Hello Grammylew ... my daughter called us too!  It was before the 2nd plane hit when We tuned in and we thought, as I'll bet many did, that "it" was happening, we were under attack .. big time.  Then they told us it was terrorists.  Which as it turns out, it was war.

Anyway ... I am gratified to hear you considering revision.  Sort of like re-visioning yourself with maybe a more comfortable decision.  I had predetermined to have the band, but on my first meet with my surgeon
he told me that he felt that a band would not suffice for me.  He explained that with my age ...75 and the number of my co-morbidity's the RNY would serve me much better.  As I have read on the forums and elsewhere, I am glad Dr. Marema is my doctor!

You will be guided to your right decision and be blessed in any case.
Hope you do not misconstrue my interest, I just really only write when I feel I should.  I will be having surgery on the 19th while you are in Mexico!  love and stuff....Samantha

Good morning everyone,

I, too, am watching the 9/11 coverage on TV this morning.  I remember that I was already at work when one of my co-workers came in saying we needed to find a TV in the building.  But what I remember most is that my husband was in the Middle East and due to fly home on 9/12.  We were terrified.  His company made the decision to suspend crew change and he spent 8 weeks on the rig before we felt it was "safe" enough for him to fly home.

Julia, I wish I could hug you in person and give you support.  It is never easy to do what you must do right now.

Well, if you all could hear me talk this morning, you would probably think I'm a croaking bullfrog!  Oh, heavens, this cold has moved down into my chest.  I have the beginnings of a nasty cough.  SO . . . question:  can RNY patients tolerate honey?  I have a wonderful home recipe for cough syrup, but the base is honey.  Do you all think I can tolerate that?

Didn't do much yesterday, but I did start a little crocheted "big boy" vest for Benny.  Almost finished it, it was so easy.  Just got a little bit left to fini**** up this morning.  Then I think I'll make some little mittens for him.

Don't know when I'll feel like starting my painting projects.  Not today I think.  Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be feeling better.  I want to paint the master bedroom and the playroom this trip.

Special prayers and hugs for everyone today.  We were all so impacted by 9/11.  It's a somber day for America.

Love you all!

Connie think about you today, praying you start to feel better soon. Yes today is vwey emotional for so many. I remember no one heard from my son for days afterwords. He was in N. Carolina at the time, & even his wife had no word, all the guys were put on guard duty, some for up to 24 hrs. at a time. As many family's on here that are, or have been military, & police & fire, thank you all!!! Nan

Hi Julia and my OFF family:

Julia, I can understand how difficult this must be for you, although I haven't had to go through this, I have had friend go through this (my friend Margie's daughter Lori Jo had to do this a couple years ago, and it took her nearly a year to get through everything, it was so painful).

I am switching between football (Bears) and baseball (White Sox) before I go to work. Bears are kicking butt (beating the Falcons 30-6); White Sox are losing 3-2, but at least not getting blown out.

I too remember where I was 10 years ago. I was at work, in the newsroom, building my business page. In fact, I was done with my page for the first edition and getting ready for the Lakeshore edition (no real change anticipated, but sometimes we had changes for the 3-star). Then we saw the events on TV; everyone's jaws dropped opened, hands went over mouths, tears started. These objective journalists couldn't help but show emotion. No one could. It was a very emotional time.

Back in the sports department, their TV showed another plane going into the Pentagon; there were reports of yet another plane headed for the capital. What was going on? My boss started working on ripping up the paper. Production boss kicked in, too; he pulled all the airline ads, so we had to redo a lot of the pages. The front pages was quickly remade; the big news that day was a mother who had killed her children because she said, God told her the devil was in them. Big story anyday, but not this day. It went to the front of the local section.

We worked feverishly that morning to put out a great package, all of us, as a team; then came back that night to put out a special edition. I didn't sleep. I was scared. I didn't know anyone there. I was worried about the future, for me, for my grandnephew, just 1 1/2 (he's now 11 1/2). What kind of world did we live in?

I wish there would be peace now, that the world could get along to solve its problems. I think too often cultures and religions don't try to understand each other, preferring to say instead, "Mine's the best, and you have to be like me or be dead." That's not right. We need to respect each other, love each other.

I am proud to be an American, of our resiliency, of our willingness to stand up to bullies and tyrants, our helping hand to those in need. But I wish we would stand together and end our divisions at home. That's the end of my soapbox.

Not much for me; I go to work again tonight. Talked to mom on the phone today; my brother is working a lot at his part-time job so we couldn't Skype. I'll try to catch up with him later in the week. Glad he's making some money.

Well, have a good day. Hug someone and tell them you love them.  Be patient (yeah, that's not easy for me to say; I'm the most impatient person I know.)
