HI Eileen,

Yes he's in P- Burg. They went to an orthopedic surgeon in Missoula this morning. His brother broke his hip about  1.5 yrs ago but had no insurance so no treatment. Surgeon examined and x rayed and came out and said "You will no longer work in any building trade." He did carpentry work when he worked. He said he needs a hip replacement.

So, I think this should be good news on the trying to get him disability help. Now if he will just help himself if it comes through. Right now he has no water, no power and owes 3 years back taxes on the house that was willed to him by my father in law because otherwise "He would have no place to live."

I won't go on more. I hope he does get straightened out but with his history he'll probably mess this up too.

I really enjoyed the movie. When I attended a small teacher's college in Conway, Ar in 1967 I would go home with friends on weekends. In one little MS town there was a sign at the local kids' hangout drivein that read "Parking for whites only." I couldn't believe it meant what it said, but it sure did.

I didn't realize until the end that Ron (Opie Taylor) Howard's daughter Bryce played the snitty Tillie (chocolate pie eater) in the movie.

Time for my pain pill and putting my feet up.

I knew Ron Howard's daughter was in it but I didn't know which one she played. I had to go to the bathroom after the movie so I didn't stick around for the credits. I figured I'd look online to see who played who. I talked with my friend Patricia, who had some stories for me about life in the South in the 60s. I read about it ... of course I was in grade school then ... couldn't believe some of the crap, but thought some of the way they got back was pretty funny. And I won't say more because I don't want to spoil it.

Enjoy the pain pill. My leg is all swollen too. I'll be taking one now, too. Poor Patricia, she is having problems swallowing and talking now because of the MS. I have to get her story down while I can. She is very interesting.

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Just a quick post here. I'm going to the early show of "The Help" ... I was going to go with my friend Patrica (who gave me Juliette) but she has to hang around her house to wait for the guy who's taking her recent mama cat to the vet for spaying. This is the cat that had the kittens a few weeks ago. The kittens are getting adopted now ... they sure were cute, I'm sure they'll get homes ... so now mama has to get spayed and then she can get a home.

So after the show I'll stop by at Patricia's to visit. I made zucchini bread yesterday and I was in pain after that. Took awhile to get the food processor to work ... boy, you have to have muscles to get the zucchini down in chute of the Kitchen-Aid processor. But it really shreds it well after that. I was going to make more than zucchini bread but I ran out of zucchini and flour. So maybe I'll pick up some more zucchini and flour on the way home.

Anyway, I need to get into the shower and get ready to go. Have a good day.

Seems like a day for a lot of us to see "The Help".  I, also, plan to take in the early show.  It will be my first outing, other than the MD visit.

It also seems like a lot of us are hurting.  Not that it really helps, but I always think of the old saying "If you are over fifty and wake up with no pain, you are probably dead".  LOL  At least we are on the right side of the grass.

Have a good day, all.  And thanks for the welcome to the loser's bench.

Good afternoon Trish and OFF family,
Got some running around today b/4 I went to work. Found some nice sweaters and tops at the Salvation Army along with 5 books, then went grocery shopping. So I didn't get my exercise in today like I planned but tomorrow I'll kick it!

Plan on mowing the lawn tomorrow if it doesn't rain. It's suppose to be nice. Maybe hubby and I will go to the Allegan Fair.
Everyone have a great weekend! Hugs and prayers for all in need. Debbie
