Good morning Thursday, Sept. 8th
Working today, off tomorrow for laundry, packing, and the like....we leave early Saturday morning.
Thought I heard some rain earlier -- think it's in the forecast for the next couple days. Loving the cool nights and snuggling under the blanket.
Hope you all have a great day today,
Pat r.
I am running behind today , been cooking a pot roast or gettng it into the roaster to slow cook today and made some Red VELVET Brownies for a group of skinny people at work lol who loves to eat my baked stuff . I have to bake , therapy but dont much eat it so I share it with a group of hungry eaters ..
Hope your trip is a good one for you ,,,Coloroda should be a lovely adventure. You going with family?
I love trips too but hard to get away at work right now for one thing and finances another. I guess i fall into the group that is afraid to spend right now with the economy so poor.
Have a blessed day and a safe trip PAT and remember to have fun..

PS
MORNINGS ALL YOU SLEEPYHEADS ,,,,time to rise and shine ...PAT and I are the only ones up .
Pat I hope your trip is uneventful. It is great to see all the fantastic sites around our country.
Well, it is pretty certain that I have a leak in my port or tubing. Last Tuesday I got 3cc's. By Wed I was eating a 6 oz steak with no restriction. So this Tuesady I went back. The fill doc was unable to get any saline out! He put 2.1 in, but again, steak on Wednesday. I like this new fill doc. He is personable and 3 hours closer than my other guy. But, he has trouble finding my port and has to poke me 3 or 4 times. Thank heaven he numbs me first. But a couple of fills ago he said, there, I think that's the place, then said nope, I must have gone all the way through. Well, you can't go through a port! The back is plastic. So now I have to schedule a trip to Mexico so my band surgeon can replace my port and tubing for almost $2000. At least he will fill me, too, and he does it under fluoro so I know it will be right. Thank heaven!!
Our daughter comes today. We will be going to our grandson's football game on Friday, he will come here for Saturday, we take him back to the military academy Sunday. Our daughter flies home Monday! A quick trip.
There has been some terrible flooding in my hometown in NY from Lee. I hope all the girls that live around there are safe and dry.
Have a fantabulous day!
Our power flickered all night long. We couldn't sleep much for fear the power would stay off, which means the sump pump quits, and our basement would have been a swimming pool.
We live on a hill so the only flooding would be the basement. With more rain in the forecast, power outage will be the main concern.
Too bad we can't ship this water to Texas!!
Good Morning Pat and Friends, I'm watching the sun rise from my recliner. Our great room looks out over the city and the sky is wide open so we have beautiful sun rises and sets, and awesome storm viewing. The days are already so much shorter. We usually have a beautiful fall, but I'm so not a winter person that it is hard to enjoy the fall knowing that winter is coming.
Mike's headed back to Montana til Saturday. I plan to do a couple of little sewing projects while he's gone. I'm making skylight covers for the 2 skylights upstairs. The just blasts in there early in the am. Other project is finishing up some curtains for Briley's room.
Then either today or tomorrow I hope to go see "The Help."
Feeling a bit better each day. Not ready for any races yet unless it's with a turtle but so much better than even one weeik ago.
You all have a great day.

There's lots going on around here this week. I kept meaning to post yesterday, but I was just too busy all day. Got another busy day today, and then I leave for Hilltop tomorrow.
I'm a little worried about making the drive to Hilltop. I have to go right through so many burned areas to get there. Just to share with you all, we have had 18,000 (yes, 18 THOUSAND) wildfires in Texas so far this year. Every day I get on-line and check the fires map. I live in East Texas, which is all piney woods. I drive right through the Davey Crockett National Forest all the time. Lots of fuel and tinder around where I live.
So far all of our houses have been safe, praise God. But you just never know. Not a drop of rain in our forecast for the next two weeks either.
Well, enough of that sad news. All you can do is pray about it and go on.
I have been a sewing dervish (as opposed to a whirling dervish--whatever that is!) all week long. Vickie's curtain making factory has been running non-stop! I am almost finished. Just got one more valance to finish this morning. I tried to fini**** last night, but I was so tired, I was making mistakes, so I stopped. So far I have made: 2 white eyelet valances, 1 poufy valance, 2 lace curtains to cover the windows in the back door and kitchen door, and 2 pairs of Winnie the Pooh curtains for the playroom.
I have been carefully piecing together these two very long Winnie the Pooh valances to go over the curtains. Very cute little scenes of Pooh and friends, but I'm having to cut and piece them together from a panel that is intended to make a baby quilt. In fact I made the baby quilt several months ago. Anyway, each valance is over 6 feet long. Finished one entirely yesterday and have the second one pieced, but now I need to hem it and make the rod pocket this morning. Whew! I wanted a project, didn't I? I got it.
I've also been going to Curves! I joined on Tuesday, and I've had 2 workouts so far this week. Going back again today and then I will get my traveling pass, so I can continue to workout at Canyon Lake for the next two weeks. Unfortunately, the scale showed a GAIN of 2 pounds this morning! grrr! I hate that damn scale.
I plan to do a lot of painting and babysitting for the next two weeks. Can't wait to see my little grandson again! And I'll try and post some before and after pictures as I get rooms finished down there at Hilltop.
Love you all!
Don't sweat the weight gain, muscle mass from Curves workouts. Either that or you caught the two pounds that escaped from me. LOL. The stall broke this morning.
I've been sewing too. I'm working on a retirement quilt that has to go to the quilter on Monday at the latest.
I wish I could send the rain to Texas. Maybe that tropical storm on the Yucatan will blow into Texas.
Thinking of my dear Texas and hoping that moisture comes soon. Also thinking about all my FWS fire fighters that are out there working on those fires!
