I'm doing well

Hi everyone,

I'm doing much better with my knee.  I wore the stabilizer for the wedding yesterday. And used my walker for the walking parts. Our friend, Jerry, drove us. We got in the car minutes before the rains began. It was a hard rain. All the cars on the Interstate were traveling at 45 mph or less. Most of the wedding guests were late due to the storm. It was to be an outside wedding. One blessing was the open shelter. The guys wrapped it in large sheets of plastic. We dried out quickly. It was getting warm inside with all the plastic around us. Just as quickly as the storm moved in, it left the same way. With the open air and winds we all were cool for the music and dancing.

I pretended to dance one fast dance. That translates into I swayed and never moved anywhere. Did take my brace off and danced one slow dance with our friend Jerry. It was nice, but my knee was "talking" to me for the rest of the night. I was up from 6AM until 3AM. That's not a mistake.  Almost 24 hours.

Went over to my cousins house at 7:30AM. He made a wonderful breakfast, but he doesn't know I had WLS. I tried to eat a little bit of everything, but the crepes didn't set well. I hated to waste all his cooking time and trouble., He even made sweet rolls from scratch., I did not have one of those. Not even a taste.

So my knee is getting well enough that we will be leaving on schedule for Florida. Will take extra breaks to keep me moving.

Thanks so much for all your prayers and concern. I felt wrapped in love throughout the entire experience.    Mag or Maggie. I answer to either.

Mag,
Glad you are doing better with the knee.  I can relate to the need to wear the brace or suffer later.  I have to wear a boot on one foot, and when I don't the foot hurts like everything afterward.  Glad you had a good time at the wedding, in spite of the storm.

Keep up the good work.

Hugs,
Trish

Mag, so glad the wedding went off well, despite the rain, and that your knee didn't give you too much trouble.
Trying to eat with others who don't know about your WLS can be a challange. Especially if they have cooked the meal themselves!
I hope the rest of your trip is fun and uneventful.

Glad you had a good time. Since I had my knee replacement and the subsequent problems, I don't think I could dance again ... I can't stand for more than five minutes without being in pain.

I used like to cut a rug at weddings, even when I was obese. Of course lots of people made fun of me, but I didn't care. I had fun.
