What's Up on Sunday?

Morning all, sober 308 days and so proud of me.
Feel like I have been hit with 20 2x4's, pouch and lower area so sore and distended. Maybe I have been eating too many tomatoes. Taking it really slow.
Hubby still hurtng from chiropracter adjustments. He slept most of yesterday and was "el grumpo". Hoping he is more engaging today. We have doctor visits each day for the next week and the week after.
Nothing planned and that is OK. Campground is filled with people. Wishing the weather will stay clear.
Trish glad the move went well. Please take it slow, just like WLS you can't get where you want to be overnight.
Grammylew, enjoy your day of shopping.
Hugs, Monica

Good morning, OFF family,

Just got off the phone with my DH in Saudi.  We got to talk an hour and a half (unheard of!), which was wonderful, but now I am feeling sad and blue.  I miss him so much and he hasn't even been gone a week yet.  It is way too soon for me to be feeling like this.  He won't be bac****il the end of this month.  I've got to find me something to do today or the blue funk will get me.

Monica, my tummy is bothering me today, too!  I'm sorry you're not feeling well.  Hope it improves soon.  (Hope John improves too!  LOL!  "El grumpo" is perfect.)

Trish, I'm so glad the move went well.  I was thinking about you yesterday.  Let's hope this will be the last move for a long time to come.  Hope you and Utley get all settled in and are HAPPY there!

Grammy, you sound wonderfully cheery and upbeat today!  How is your little toe?  Did you wrap it like I said?  I was unaware of your cancer diagnosis.  You have beat the odds!  Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

And speaking of praise God, it actually RAINED here yesterday.  Not a lot.  We must have been on the very outer fringes of Lee, but it did rain for hours yesterday afternoon and last night.  Just sort of a cross between a drizzle and a light shower.  You know that sound a straw makes when you're sucking up the last bit of soda from a cup?  I could have sworn I heard my yard making that same sound last night!  LOL!  And it is blessedly COOLER here today.  Ahhhh, relief!

Not much on my plate for the rest of the holiday weekend.  Think I'm going to start sewing some new curtains for the lakehouse.  Maybe that will help me get over the blue funk.  I have the material already.  I just need to put some good music on and get my head into a project so I'll stop missing DH so much.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.  Love you all!

Yes Vickie, I did wrap my baby toe. It is not nearly as black and blue and it does still hurt, but not as much. It still hurts to put on my tennis shoes. My Birkenstock**** it a little, but not too bad. I only wear the tennies on my treadmill. Feels very weird walking on there in my Birks!
I hope you can find something to get yourself out of your blue funk! It's bad enough when you have to say goodbye and he'll be gone for 8 months. At least you know when he comes home he'll be here for a year or so. But to have to say goodbye every month would put me in a blue funk, too.

I just downloaded several new crochet patterns from Annie's Attic.  A sweater vest for me and a bunch of little boy/toddler things for Benny.  That will help.  I like to crochet at night.

I'm going to start on some curtains this afternoon.  I like to sew, if I can get in the right frame of mind to do it.  Curtains are pretty simple.  Just a lot of straight seams usually.  My DH made me the nicest cutting table last year!  It's sized just for me--TALL!  Hurts my back to lean over the dining room table.  This cutting table has drop leaves, so I can expand it, and lots of storage underneath.  I love it!

I'm glad you're managing with your toe.  I tell you, I've broke the same little toe twice now.  Hurts like a B*TCH!  Hopefully yours will start to mend soon.  But you'll always have to watch it from now on, just like me.  I never go barefoot anymore.  Always have a shoe on to protect that toe!

Hope you're having a pleasant Sunday!

When I sew I need to get started early, or I won't start. In OR, I had a wonderful table for cutting and sewing, nice and tall. Unfortunately it was one our son made in Shop class and he took it when he married his second wife and moved to a new house. Now I have a cardboard cutting boatd on a queen sized bed in the spare room.
I also like to crochet at night. That is my best day...sewing in the morning while listening to GAC or CMT, and crochetting at night while watching TV with my DH.

OMG, Carolyn, we could be twins!  That is also my best day.  I love to get up and sew in the mornings.  And I listen to country, too.  Got it on right now!  :)

I still use the cardboard cutting board on top of my cutting table.  It helps me square up my material.  I feel for you having to bend over the bed to cut fabric, although I had to do that for years, too.  Either that or the dining room table.

Today I am ripping seams.  I bought 2 white eyelet bedskirts for one of the guest rooms at Hilltop.  I put one on the bed, of course.  The other I bought so that I would have matching white eyelet to make valances for the windows, plus hopefully a white eyelet throw pillow for the bed.  So I'm patiently ripping the white eyelet away this afternoon.  The valances will be very simple: just hem up the sides and make a rod pocket at the top.  Can't decide if I want to make the plain white curtains to go underneath or just order them.  I may just order them.  We have very limited shopping here for material!  Boo hiss!

Next I'm going to make some sort of cute little puffy valance to go over the guest bath window.  I brought the old one home with me to have for a pattern, but I want to make something a little dressier.  Haven't quite figured out what yet.  It's a very small window, only 2' x 3', so I'll have to keep scale in mind when I "design" it.  LOL!

Lastly, I want to make some Winnie the Pooh curtains for Benny's playroom at Hilltop.  There are 2 huge windows in there!  Both of them are 6' x 6'.  I'll just make simple rod pocket curtains for those, since they'll be temporary curtains.  Just a few years at most, and then I'm sure I'll change them for something more grown up.

I am in awe of your sewing all those Halloween costumes.  I've only ever made simple costumes like angels, witches, clowns, etc.  Although one time I did make a big Hershey kiss out of silver lame fabric!  That pirate costume you made was a work of art!  You should move to Hollywood.  You'd make a fortune there!  LOL!

Better get back to my ripping!

Oh, those are just fabulous!  Kudos!

Please tell me how you get pictures to go in your posts!  I can't figure it out.  When I click on the "Want to insert images into this post?" link, it says the pictures have to come off the internet.  How are you managing that?

Just about finished with my eyelet valances this evening.  They are turning out great.

Well, I go to my photos and upload the pix I want to my photos, Then I copy the photo and paste it into my post. It's the only way I figured out to do it.
I love to repurpose things into new things. Curtains, pillows, etc.
