it's THURSDAY already!?

Wow, Nancy, what an exciting opportunity you have to meet Dr. Irena and act as an ambassador to her and her traveling team.  You are a special lady.

I got more packing done yesterday.  Today, I have friends coming to help with the kitchen and bathroom, as well as cleaning.,  I have a podiatrist appointment and they are going to let themselves in with a key I gave one of them.  Hopefully, the podiatrist will give me a clean bill of health, and I can stop wearing the boot.  Not so sure about that, as I still have some sensitivity in that foot.  I have been more diligent in wearing the clumsy thing, but it still hurts, like even now.  The boot is on, and my foot is elevated, and it still has twinges of pain across the top. 

So, today it's the doctor appointment and packing and cleaning with my friends here to help.  Then, this afternoon, I have another appointment.  This time, it's an intake appointment at an agency for some mental health help.  I am going to start attending some group therapy sessions for people with addictions, like me. 

Had a frustrating time with the cable company last night.  I had called them weeks ago, to discuss moving my service to my new apartment, and they told me to call back a few days before the move, and they would be able to help me transfer my service to the new place.  Well, when I called yesterday, they told me that they could not get a technician out to turn on my service till next Wednesday.  I told them that was unacceptable, and insisted that a supervisor get me my service turned on over the weekend.  They tried to blame Hurricane Irene, but I told them I should not be punished because I followed their instructions about the day I called to transfer services.  They called me back to tell me my service would be turned on Saturday.

Hi Everyone. I just got back from a seminar in Colorado Springs. It was focused on how marriage is affected by weight loss surgery. It was fun. My DH and I also did some sightseeing. It is so beautiful.

Oh, Nancy, what I wouldn't give to have some of your thick hair!  Mine is getting so thin, I can see my scalp in several places! 

So I just had to post this morning, if only to watch my ticker go down.  Another pound dropped off. Hurray!  My WL seems to go in spurts.  I'll have a long stall, and then I'll drop several pounds all at once.  Anybody else have this?

Anyway, I hope I get to Onederland before I stall again this time! 

Walked on my treadmill again yesterday.  I can only do about 30 minutes at a time before my hip and/or ankle tell me it's time to stop.  Still, I'm trying hard to do what the doctor told me to do: exercise!  I need to find me a water aerobics class.  I can do that without hurting my ankle at all.

Nothing much planned for today.  It's the 1st so I have to pay bills.  Fun.

My hair got very thin during my first year post-op, but in the last two it grew in nicely and I am thankful, especially since I've gone natural due to allergies to hair dye. . .  more than likely it will fill in.

As for the spurts, for me it always seemed that my greatest loss showed up about the surgiversary date each month, I could not see anything for weeks and then there would be a drop of 5 lbs or so.  This journey can be frustrating, but I was grateful to those who told me to take measurements, because those changed even when the scale seemed stuck and I am having a similar thing going on now, as I am in the losing stage of things again, but my clothes show the whole story while the scale, well the scale, as I've said over and over again, is not my friend, but I do need to use it to stay accountable, now I am trying to use it only on a weekly basis. 

In the meantime, you are looking wonderful, it takes time for the mind to catch up and see where we are now, just look at some old pictures to remind yourself of how far you've come.

Morning OFF family!!

Well I am going to try to post again...think my pc is acting up or maybe its me not sure...lol

Anyhow got my blood test results and everything tested negative...not sure what was tested but its negative...yippeee. Start the 60 mg cymbalta tonight because I forgot to take it last night...grrrr. Anyhow most of my pain is just about gone!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!! I am happy about that for sure!!!!

Tuesday I had a day from hell!!! Started out my alarm didn't go off...was late for work by 10 minutes...had to clean the smoothie machine...got the strawberry side all torn apart and washed and put back together started pouring the smoothie mix back in it and all of a sudden it was going all over the counter the floor and my new shoes...omg!!!!!!!!!! WTH????????? The gasket came off inside!!! I stopped and grabbed the paper towels and started cleaning it up and omg what a sticky mess that was!!!! Ha the mess all cleaned up and then it was time to get the shopping done for the day so I could get the cafe open and food started...still had to clean the caramel latte side yet....got that all done started cleaning the latte side...pulled that apart and ofcourse the auger that "usually" stays on and needs to be pulled off comes off right on to me and on to the clean floor and makes another mess!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!! THEN......All the managers start to come up for something to either drink or eat or both...sighs......why this morning I say to myself. I over charge the one manager for 2 muffins...he says its ok to give one to Ben ok Ben wants a blueberry ok I will get another one out of refrigerator and warm it in oven...ok. Umm none in there...nobody took any out night before as usual to thaw out. He had to eat the banana nut. GRRRR It was just one bad thing after another it was like a friday the 13th and what could go wrong did go wrong for me!!!! 3:30 couldn't get here fast enough for me to go home and stay there!!! Atleast I didn't get in trouble for being late for work!!!!

Nothing else happening here just the same ole same ole...had some storms all night and more on the way. Figures...my day off today. Supposed to be hot hot hot also!!!

Well need to get some laundry done IF the machines are availabe to use today...Thoughts and Prayers for those that need them!!!!

OMGoodness, Judy!  What a day!  I know it wasn't funny at the time, but you told it funny and I got a chuckle out of it.  One day you will laugh about it, too! 

So glad to hear that your pain is almost gone.  And that your tests were all negative.  That's good news.

Thanks for your encouraging words about the stalls.  You've told me that before, and my head knows it, but when the scale stops moving for WEEKS, I tend to get a little frustrated.  I just really, really want to be in Onederland!  I haven't been there in so many years.  It's hard to be patient!

Vickie I am LOL at it already but when it happened I sure wasn't laughing then!!!!! OMG!!!! LOL

You know when I was starting out I had so many weeks the scale would NOT move!!! I was so depressed and then it finally moved and there was a huge loss!!!! So STAY OFF THE SCALE!!!!! All it does is anger you!!!! LOL The INCHES are coming off you!!! Your body is going through MAJOR changes and is wondering what the hell happened!!!!  Trust me Vickie...the weight WILL come off!!! And you know what? The slower it comes off the tighter the skin is going to be!!!! :-) Yes!!! That is true!!!

Another story I want to share with you...I had a guy stop and chat with me monday...he asked me how I stayed so "skinny" working with food everyday!!!! I told him this "food" I worked with didn't really interest me anymore because I did work with it every day now...plus I had gastric by pass. He asked me if I missed being "fat". I said heck no!!!!!! He said he loved being fat!!!! He is a huge guy and my guess is close to 400lbs. We had a long discussion about WLS and I told him I would be happy to talk more to him whenever he would like. And he said he would be back on monday and would talk again. I told him I would bring another photo of me before I had my WLS so he could really see what I looked like before. He said he can't imagine me being so big!! LOL he is in for a shock when he sees what I used to look like!!!! But anyhow...me being called "skinny" is a shock to me!!! I still do not see me as "skinny" yet!!!  I know I wear a size 12 but skinny?? Not me....

So hang in there Vickie...your "skinny" days are coming soon!!!!!!!!!!
