it's THURSDAY already!?
Hello, everyone! It is 2 am Thursday morning and I’m still wide awake and working. I have sent out the invitation to our BPW Niagara Garden party for Sept 8th and have been writing for my website. Yesterday, I received an email from a lady doctor who is President of Business & Professional Women’s Club (BPW) of Moscow, Russia. Dr Irina will arrive in Niagara Falls, Ontario (Canada) on Sept 20th and is on tour through some of our provinces & cities to see and learn more about Canada. She contacted me to ask if we could meet….wow!! I am so very excited to meet this BPW lady! She wants to know more about BPW Canada and wishes to establish a connection between our countries BPW Clubs. I am organizing a dinner party to welcome her and her traveling companions and we will enjoy dinner, comraderie and discussion on the social & economic betterment for women worldwide! What an amazing opportunity! Had my haircut Wed...my hair looks the same except that it is now MUCH shorter in the back. I had to ask her twice to thin my hair even more….she remarked that I have incredibly THICK hair…indeed I do….too bad it’s also trying to grow on my upper lip and chin *rolls my eyes*…lucky for me, the hair is white-blonde. Yes, I grow my own HIGHLIGHTS! *s*. I still have to get used to going for a trim at regular intervals. Having had butt-length hair all of my life, I’ve not had to worry about that but now, it seems, that once a month, I must get there and have a trim because my hair (and fingernails) grow extremely fast…maybe it’s all the protein that I ingest!? Last night’s dinner at the Japanese restaurant went well. I had miso soup….not sure I would go looking for more....blech…and shrimp & scallops…even ate my salad and wasabi salad dressing with chopsticks. That’s all I had room for…..the rest : sushi and sticky rice, crystallized ginger and wasabi paste….went into a take-out box and I took that home and gave it to Derek who loves sushi ...*shudders*..he emptied that take-out box quickly! Well, no food was wasted *s* Today at 10 am, I will have my tests to see if I am still deathly allergic to penicillin.....so, if you never heard from me again, you will know that I was…lol.JB wants to drive and go with me….in case something happens, I guess…I’m not too concerned, however, a reaction could be nasty. Hopefully I have outgrown it. My Argentina-South American half-cousin cannot come to Canada today from NYC where she is working temporarily…..apparently AMTRAK cancelled the train…likely due to damage on the rails from Hurricane Irene. We are all very disappointed…..she worked so hard to get her visa to visit family in Canada…..she will try again in December. A gorgeous day here…..we had perfect weather to sit on the verandah for a while last night in my nightgown, drinking tea with my lap, shoulders, neck and feet all covered with fur…my outside furbabies ...while Zeus, my big goof of a rottie sat beside me. *sending healing energy for those needing it, physically, emotionally & spiritually* Nancy B

Can you bottle some of that energy and ship it south? Boy, I sure don't have any. I did two sports sections tonight and feel like a truck ran over me. Whew! I'm whipped. I got done on time with a minimum of help, so I felt good about that. Plus, I was trying to help our new young woman out on another sports section ... I'm afraid I wasn't as much help as I could have been if I wasn't so busy. She felt like a deer caught in the headlights. She said it wasn't so bad, but I told her she was working on a night without stories on deadline ...I said if you think this was bad, wait until football night. And that starts for some schools tonight.
That's great about the woman from Moscow wanting to meet you. Another place I've always wanted to go ... would love to see some places I've read about and seen in movies.
Still would love to see Niagra Falls some day. Maybe in a couple of years if I still have a job.
Well, not much else ... work again tonight.

I am up baking creamcheese bars for work this am . I have to take them something a couple times a week or they think thye will croak . LOL
Busy day in my world today too ...My shipment of computers arrived yesterday and I have to get them installed and a million other things.. Have a hair appt at 100 then back to work ,,,Gym tonight and on and on ..
I am grateful for things to do so no griping just sounding them out LOL
LABOR DAY coming up . Anyone have any special plans ? I am trying to go see my mom ...She lives 2 and half hours away so that is a 5 hours trip on one day if I stay just the day..

GOOD MORNING OFF!!!
Hi ladies, how have you all been? I am doing as well as can be expected. Have had some trials in my life (involving my son and his family), but thanks to prayer we have survived.
Since I last posted here, my son has started his own business (he is a franchisee). Take in mind, my son has a GED. Last year, he was the manager of a truck terminal. He has since gotten his own business in the trucking industry. In the first two months of this year, he made more than he did all last year. Wow. So good to see his hard work paying off.
Now that he is a businessman, he is looking for a hobby. As of now, he wants to take up golf. He played in Chicago last month for the first time ever. (Putt Putt does not count). Well, he asked me to join him. I told him I won't ride a cart. If I am going to get exercise, I am going to get exercise. Well, we can't do it in this weather, so maybe next month when it cools down we can try it.

Lookie here, big brother George come out to say hi!!! Well hello there brother, you've been thought of and missed, sorry to hear there were trials, but so long as you all survived, guess that is part of the lessons everyone had to experience to learn from. . . happy that you son is doing well in his new endeavors and hope that before long you two are enjoying the golf course.

Good mornin' ya'll.
Got a guy to come look at our downed trees and the one in our son's yard. Plus our son has 3 others that need to come down before the next big breeze brings them down. Ours are just baby trees, his are huge ones. Guy will do ours and our son's for $1400. I guess that's a good price. I have no frame of referance for this. But the guy is licensed, bonded, and a FEMA approved contractor.
My fill did absolutely no good. The first night it felt good. I was able to eat all of my normal meals yesterday. Including a steak and half a baker. The doc won't give me another fill for 2 weeks. At $165 per, I would really like them to work.
Anyway, gotta finish copying my aunt's genealogy books today so I can mail them back to her.
