Good Morning Nancy and everyone else here. The list just reminds me how much I LOVE non-structured time. I do have a list at work- a schedule for therapy and a list of testing, meetings, and reports/paperwork that has to be done, but home is non-structured. I felt overwhelmed just reading that list. Do you have to pay for spaying/neutering all of those cats/ Maybe we should take up a collection for you.
I am losing an important tooth. I keep taking antibiotics to keep it a bit longer because it holds a bridge in place plus I am not really feeling up to dental work right now. But it is forcing the issue. I am also supposed to get a chest xray for work and I just can't right now. I'm tired and sad. I wish I could just heal for a while.
I do have moments of unbelievable "happy"- the other day I took my dogs to Starbucks. Penny- the chocolate lab (80 lbs. of pure love) saw my daughter Laura in the drive-thru window and just had to be there. She was pushing this huge lab back into the car, I was holding her to pull her back in and I absolutely lost it laughing. It was so funny. I need those little crazy times. Back to work now... hope you are all doing well.

Good morning Nancy and everyone.....

Nancy...you wear me out too...oh my gosh what you get done in a week I couldn't do in months!!  Thanks for the concern for Nic. He is doing okay. He has his Lime Green VW BUG  to drive if necessary. However, it sounds like he will be using his dad's truck.

I am definitely going to Minnesota tomorrow morning!!!! I am so glad I will be there for the Benefit for Chuck....I still find it hard to believe he is gone..wow! I guess this will make it real.

I will be staying with my sister this trip. Sadly she doesn't have a computer....can you imagine?? Still hoping to find a laptop to use. If not, I won't be back on here until Tuesday morning. I will be so behind!!

It is raining here today so we won't be running anywhere. Yesterday afternoon we spent 2 hours at the Children's Library. They have a great play area. Grace loves being with the other children. Then we went to McDonald's and Grace played for almost another 2 hours there. She was worn out when we got home. Then I swept and mopped the kitchen floors and all the main floor hardwood floors. By then I was pooped out too! (laundry in the AM) Rested about 15 minutes and got on the Elliptical.....I need to do it as I will be gone all those days. I hope to get out and walk every morning. I need to do something!!

Wishing you all a great day......and 6 days to follow!!

I will keep everyone in my prayers.  Time to start packing!!

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Good morning Nancy and my OFF sistas!

I can still say it is "morning" for one more minute.  It's almost noon and I am late posting today.  I always give myself one day of pure indulgence after my husband leaves for Saudi.  I get to take 2 Tylenol PMs the night before and sleep as late as I want.  Then I have a pajama day.  I read for couple of hours this morning and finished my latest book, The Black Echo, by Michael Connelly.  It was very good.

So I posted some of this yesterday evening, but I want to post it again today.  I had my 6-month post-op checkup with my WL surgeon in Houston yesterday.  I got a Very Good checkup!  My labs were all good.  My blood pressure was so low, I couldn't believe it.  And my cholesterol was 155!  No more BP meds or cholesterol meds for me.  And he said my weight loss was right on track.

My initial protein requirement post-op was 60 to 80 grams a day.  He dropped that requirement down to 50 grams a day.  He wants me to eat more plant based proteins and not worry so much about eating meat.  I've been really struggling to get 80 grams of protein in a day.  I think I'll still continue to drink a Pro Joe daily (20 gr protein), but I really like fruits and veggies, and I haven't been eating much of those.  I'm happy I can give up struggling to eat so much eggs and cheese and meats.  I love fish and shrimp, so I'll continue with those protein sources for sure.

He does want me to exercise more.  No surprise there.  I've just kind of been avoiding the issue all summer.  It's so bleepin' HOT here.  Makes you just want to sit on the couch and veg.  But okay.  I hear ya, Doc!  I'll go check out the local health club this week.  It's either that or Curves.  Not many choices here.

Happily, the scale dropped another pound this morning!  Finally.  That was a long, long stall.  Onederland, here I come!

This morning I had to rescue a little hummingbird from my hot tub room.  He flew in through the open door and couldn't find his way out again!  I finally got him to light upon the broom bristles (I had it turned right side down) and he rested there while I carried him out through the doorway.  He was so exhausted from bumping up against the windows, poor thing!  I'm sure he was scared.  At least I got him out before the cats got him.

Today I plan to catch up on some correspondence, return a few phone calls, and color my hair.  A slightly LESS shade of red this time!  LOL!  I might go buy some yarn this afternoon.  I want to start a new hoodie sweater for Benny.  Although it's hard to think about sweaters right now!  I just want to stay indoors and avoid the heat.  I'm a summer-time gal, but this summer has just about beat us all to death around here.  I'll be glad to see the end of August tomorrow.  Surely these 100+ temps will have to give way soon.

I can't remember who all I was going to respond to now.  Got the PM'sy hangover today.  But you all know that I . . .

. . . love you all!

Hi Nancy and my OFF family:

Boy, I'm on here late, and I got up early, too ... phone rang at 9 and roused me out of a deep sleep ... then the person didn't leave a message.

I felt so miserable yesterday I went to bed at 8 p.m. ... dozed off sometime around 9:30, then got up and read for awhile to find out what happened with the White Sox game because the MLB Extra Innings package wasn't working AGAIN on Comcast, so all I could watch was the ESPN game. Then I fell asleep again about 11 .... got up at 6 with a backache and struggled to get back to sleep for awhile, but finally did, with the ice pack on my neck and my covers over my head.

Today I feel remarkably well ... yeah, I'm sick on my day off and feel fine when I have to work ... what's backward about that?

Talked to my brother and mom today ... missed them on Sunday because they were busy with my nephew and company. Sounds like they had a great time visiting with Chris, Jill, Alexander, etc. Mom even enjoyed all the company, even all of Chris' aunts and family from his mom's side. She was so talkative today, more so than usual. I think it was good for her.

Well, I need a shower. I just finished lunch and should get into the shower and maybe get a nap before work. Have a good day.

LOL...Eileen, I'm the late poster now that I work the 3-11 shift!
Hope your feeling better now.

Howdy OFF family if you are reading this late post.
I'm getting use to the evening shift and I love it!
I'm able to go to bed almost a half hour after I get home. Need to just relax a bit to settle down I guess.

So today I slept in to 8am! Whhoooo...much better than getting up at 5:30AM
I went for a 4 mile walk with my dogs, I did have to carry Sophie several times to let her rest. She is my chubby doggie with short legs. Ugh...I did weight lifting while walking! LOL
Then when I got home, stripped and jumped into the pool and did 100 sit ups with my noodle...then went into the hot tub to relax.

Now tomorrow I will put Sophie in my jogging stroller I got for her at a garage sale...save my back!

On my walk I heard a little kitten meowing but she wouldn't come out to me. These people who drop off cats/kittens in the country need a kick in the patootie!

Hugs and prayers for all in need.  Debbie
