Hello, everyone! First I send prayers for safety, courage and comfort to all those who will be affected by Hurricane Irene!!  As always, so proud of all of you who work with challenges in health, relationships and employment.  We are in a very intense time and we need to be very patient and positive. Stay centred, fully alert, reminding yourself often that this is all part of the Divine plan. All is well even though it may not feel like it. ‘this too shall pass!’ I got a message from my surgeon’s office saying to call them on Monday for the date of my ultrasound core biopsy.  Wish they had just left the actual date so I can plan…but you know what they say “If you want to make God laugh, make plans!”…lol.  But my daybook is full already and I have two full  three-hour classes a week to facilitate for the next eight weeks. I already know that I will have surgery regardless if this lump is cancer or not.  I really don’t have time for this nonsense!  :  }  Staying very positive. Friday afternoon,  I had to have a long talk with “Ferdinand” about talking to strangers and about getting into strange cars... the paper delivery guy was shocked when my over-friendly kitten jumped thru his car window for snuggles! He was stopped at our newspaper tube at the end of our driveway to tuck the paper in and then got a phone call so he parked right there. Then Ferdinand, a VERY affectionate kitten, jumped right into the man’s car window and climbed all over him, purring and kissing him.  OMG ..that kitten will do anything for cuddles!   What next!? We had a terrible storm here the other day including hail but this time no car damage and the peach crop seemes to have survived but the lightning was something I’d never seen so severe before!  We had a few big trees badly damaged though and now likely need to be taken down before they tear our roof off…such a shame..we planted them 40 years ago when we moved here. This weekend I have to re-read Gary Zukav’s “Spiritual Partnerships” and then go through my “Coles Notes” and ready myself for teaching so hopefully I can get through that book in two days and do the fact sheets for my clients done.  Always new challenges.   One of my new clients is an Australian man who tends to be a controller.   Because of this, I am making a “Talking Stick”, following the custom of some aboriginal tribes..whoever holds the Talking Stick is the ONLY person allowed to be speaking and NO ONE interrupts…when it is passed to the next person, THAT person can speak without interruption.  A visual aid to remind everyone to respect boundaries and other’s opinions.  I’m looking for wild turkey feathers for it. This morning, JB saw a doe with two young deer at her side..they were at the end of our driveway!  How I love living in the country!    Have a safe weekend, everyone!!Nancy B

Nancy and friends,

Sending positive thoughts your way for your core biopsy. You'll do what has to be done but I'm hoping that it is minimally invasive in your life!

I need a "talking stick" to carry with me to give to OTHERS so that they have a chance. I get so excited when with others that stimulate me intellectually that I just can't wait to share. This is a real problem that I have that I am aware of. I try not to interrupt but invariably I DO. So I wait and then wait some more but eventually my mouth flies open and I've done it again. Part of the problem is that I forget what I want to say so quickly. Anyone else have this problem? It is really one that I would like to change.

When I was teaching I expected my students to take turns; why can't I make myself do the same?

Thanks Nancy for letting me "see" your beautiful setting. Sure would like to get there some day. . . And I will. Just a matter of time. Believe me. when I make it to the northeast 8 (I believe) states that I haven't been to,I will "cross the falls" (windwalking, hang gliding, zip line?????) probably more conventionally and meet up with you. My cousin in Susanville, CA has a video of a large male deer, complete with a large rack of antlers, coming in and out of an open garage SIDE door ( NOT the big car doors) returning time and again to get apples out of a bag. Sometimes it would pause to spit out the core before turning around for another one. Such fun to watch!

I think I have some beautiful male pheasant feathers around somewhere if you are interested. My oldest brother hunts as do other friends around here in the fall. Let me know. Is that something that can "crossover" without problems?

I'm doing much better here at home. We have to head back to Seattle for a wound check on Tuesday, but it sure has been nice to be at home. Trying to change dressings, empty drains, keep from dripping body fluids onto other people's carpets or furniture. I'm sure you understandy. Sorry, probably TMI!

It's time for my pain pills and  gone will be my ability to type.I wonder if that word is even still in the dictionary. I wonder if "dictionary" is still in the dictionary???Hugs,

Karen C

I want a Talking Stick for my hubby......but I will hold it always.

Prayers for you and that the upcoming medical issue is resolved with the best outcome possible.

Kitty sounds too cute, but he needs to beware of strangers, our Diablo once jumped into a car, he was ready to ride.

Good mornin' ya'll.
Well Irene is visiting! We have 2 willow trees down in the back yard and the roof is partially off one of our sheds. It was just tar paper. And, of course that is where all of the 'good' stuff is. Our son has power, we don't, he lives 6 houses down from us. I think the worst is past. At least I hope so. Branches cover our back yard and in our son's pool.
Clean up will begin later today.
I fear Kristi got it really bad. I hope she and her family evacuated!
My DH is lost without his TV and computer! He is just wandering the house. I still have my iPad and a ton of books.
One grandson spent the night and he is still sleeping!
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Irene's path.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Morning OFF family. Sober 299 days and so proud of me.
Prayers and good vibrations going to all on this Saturday as Miss Irene approaches land. The media coverage is remarkable. Scary stuff happening as she moves up east coast. People have been told to go, for many where do you go? Very glad we are not being affected, but worried about those who will be hit. Grateful we do not live in  NYC.
We had a wonderful time visiting hubby's brother and family in Bonita Springs. Easy drive and I did very well with travel and traffic. Their condo is lovely and in a gorgeous area.
Yoda did well too. First long car trip with him and he loved it. He was sooooo good at their home and was a gentlemen. Very happy we went. They will fly home Monday to Boston, concerned about being able to get home.
Glad Karen is feeling better......take it easy please. Glad Miss Morgan is home.
Remember to be good to yourselves. Stay safe and happy, Monica

Good morning.

Nancy - our support group tends to get noisy and everybody wants to talk at once. I ring bells to quiet them down. Not always effective and I threaten to THROW the bells.

Kisses

Annette, Are you in the line of fire for the storm? I remember when I drove south through northern Mississippi in June after Katrina hit in I believe the previous September how many HUGE trees were still littering the sides of the road hundreds of miles north of the coast of MS and LA.
