Saturday already..what's new with you???
Nancy and friends,
Sending positive thoughts your way for your core biopsy. You'll do what has to be done but I'm hoping that it is minimally invasive in your life!
I need a "talking stick" to carry with me to give to OTHERS so that they have a chance. I get so excited when with others that stimulate me intellectually that I just can't wait to share. This is a real problem that I have that I am aware of. I try not to interrupt but invariably I DO. So I wait and then wait some more but eventually my mouth flies open and I've done it again. Part of the problem is that I forget what I want to say so quickly. Anyone else have this problem? It is really one that I would like to change.
When I was teaching I expected my students to take turns; why can't I make myself do the same?
Thanks Nancy for letting me "see" your beautiful setting. Sure would like to get there some day. . . And I will. Just a matter of time. Believe me. when I make it to the northeast 8 (I believe) states that I haven't been to,I will "cross the falls" (windwalking, hang gliding, zip line?????) probably more conventionally and meet up with you. My cousin in Susanville, CA has a video of a large male deer, complete with a large rack of antlers, coming in and out of an open garage SIDE door ( NOT the big car doors) returning time and again to get apples out of a bag. Sometimes it would pause to spit out the core before turning around for another one. Such fun to watch!
I think I have some beautiful male pheasant feathers around somewhere if you are interested. My oldest brother hunts as do other friends around here in the fall. Let me know. Is that something that can "crossover" without problems?
I'm doing much better here at home. We have to head back to Seattle for a wound check on Tuesday, but it sure has been nice to be at home. Trying to change dressings, empty drains, keep from dripping body fluids onto other people's carpets or furniture. I'm sure you understandy. Sorry, probably TMI!
It's time for my pain pills and gone will be my ability to type.I wonder if that word is even still in the dictionary. I wonder if "dictionary" is still in the dictionary???Hugs,
Karen C
Well Irene is visiting! We have 2 willow trees down in the back yard and the roof is partially off one of our sheds. It was just tar paper. And, of course that is where all of the 'good' stuff is. Our son has power, we don't, he lives 6 houses down from us. I think the worst is past. At least I hope so. Branches cover our back yard and in our son's pool.
Clean up will begin later today.
I fear Kristi got it really bad. I hope she and her family evacuated!
My DH is lost without his TV and computer! He is just wandering the house. I still have my iPad and a ton of books.
One grandson spent the night and he is still sleeping!
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Irene's path.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
Prayers and good vibrations going to all on this Saturday as Miss Irene approaches land. The media coverage is remarkable. Scary stuff happening as she moves up east coast. People have been told to go, for many where do you go? Very glad we are not being affected, but worried about those who will be hit. Grateful we do not live in NYC.
We had a wonderful time visiting hubby's brother and family in Bonita Springs. Easy drive and I did very well with travel and traffic. Their condo is lovely and in a gorgeous area.
Yoda did well too. First long car trip with him and he loved it. He was sooooo good at their home and was a gentlemen. Very happy we went. They will fly home Monday to Boston, concerned about being able to get home.
Glad Karen is feeling better......take it easy please. Glad Miss Morgan is home.
Remember to be good to yourselves. Stay safe and happy, Monica
