Oh Nancy, how horrid for Morgan and her family. Getting the doctors and staff to involve parents isn't always easy, why do they make people jump thru hoops at times like these. Prayers sent.

Thank you Monica, I try not to let this shake my faith, but it's getting harder each time. I spend a lot of time talking to God.

Oh Nan....I am so sorry. I too hope they move her to the Childrens Hospital....she needs the best care therte is. More prayers on the way!!

Has she ever gone to NYC Ketterling or any of the St Jude's Hospitals?  These places have kept Nic going...we are especially impressed with St Jude's!!  Plus, Jamie know's lot's of places that will fly them for free. Also they usually stay at Ronald McDonld houses...that sure helps with expenses!!
Just saying ....not trying to be bossy.

Love and hugs....connie d

Connie she is still a patient with Dr. Kushner. Now they are trying to shrink her tumor. Aftet that they plan to do surgery to make sure it's gone. Not until then can a plan be made for a final treatment. Sloan Kettering kept her going last time, the 3F8. Six years ago, when she was first diagnosed, they contacted St. Judes, at the time Margan's cancer was so advanced they couldn't treat her. The kids are looking for the best, but the tumor has to be gone first. Texas childrens is 3 hrs. away. The one in Temple was supposed to do what Childrens told them. Haven't heard anything yet, will post as soon as I do.

Hope your appt is just what you are looking for!

Nan....now I remember Morgan was in NY. That is when I found out about her being there. My daughter met your son there.

It is so hard to sit by patiently and wait....I want her fixed now as do all of you. I hate this Evil Cancer Monster. Too many children suffering and no cure....time to start having Childrens Cancer in the lead for researh and funding!!

I am so glad Dr K is working with Morgan. He is so wonderful and caring! I hope that other hospital follows his orders.

I will keep praying and keeping you all in my thoughts.

Love and hugs.....connie d

Good Morning Carla and OFF-

Carla sorry there were meltdowns at the wedding.  Try to forget those and think of all the happy things that happened.

Julia good luck at you first day back at work.  Must be fun to see how the kids have grown over the summer.

Monica you're my hero with your sobriety.

Nancy I'm mailing a get well card to Morgan today.  Hope the doctors get their act together soon.

Thought I was going to quilt today but the sewing machine has gone on the fritz.  So I've decided to take a break and get some chores done.  Then I'll try to tackle the sewing machine.  Bobbin is not cooperating.  Worse comes to worse, I'll buy a simple one at Walmart to finish this quilt.  Grr!!!  Always happens when I have a deadline.

Well Benefiber is officially off my list and will be feeding my septic tank.  No discomfort whatsoever yesterday without having any Benefiber.  So now I'm not worried about leaking.  Tomorrow I see the NUT and the surgeon so I'll be interested in seeing what their scales read.

Rainy again in Maine.  I feel so guilty when it rains here since I know that my friends in Texas are struggling with drought!  Going to be an interesting winter at the Refuge if they don't get some rain.  Alligators will dig deep holes in the mud along with the turtles and frogs.  But birds and mammals will suffer withou****er.  I'm going to pray for a couple of tropical depressions that stall out over Texas with slow and steady rain.

That's all from Maine today.  Enjoy your day ladies.

Hi Carla and my OFF family:

Glad the wedding went well; sorry for the stress before. Her inlaws need to mind their own business. I'm looking forward to seeing the photos, seeing you and Lizzie in all your glory.

The only wedding story I have to tell is my brother Gary and his ex-wife Debbie. All their married life, they struggled with finances, and it started at the wedding. They, of course, paid for their own wedding ... both were working for awhile and Debbie had been married before. When it got to the wedding day, they got an awful lot of regular gifts (not typical of a Chicago wedding, where most guests hand the bride an envelope that she puts in her fancy wedding purse ... it of course has money or a check in it). Gary and Debbie thought they would have enough there to pay for the reception and their honeymoon. When they saw the number of regular wrapped gifts, they panicked a bit, so when they left the reception, they had to add up the checks and cash and make sure their check for the reception would clear ... and thus began the rest of their married life, always worrying about finances. (Debbie and I are much alike in many ways ... eating and spending addictions.)

Well, I didn't get the newspaper job in Naples, Fla. Heard from them today. I have a feeling I didn't get the one in Chicago, either, because I haven't heard from them. Oh well. The guy at work called in sick again last night; I got dumped on with a lot of work and although others pitched in to help, it was crazy because some of the stories came in late. And then I forgot about a page. Just a nutty night. Body feels better today, although my right leg is still swollen. If I had the money for the copay, I'd call the doctor and have it check out. Guess I'll wait until Friday.

Anyway, back to work tonight. Hope it's better. Have a good day.

Just back from OPC visit for hubby about his ear.....he had a bad cancer removed almost 15 yrs ago and I thought it "looked" strange. Not to worry. Doc spent almost 40 min with us and put in special consult requests for his back and hip problems. She is wonderful and so caring. She is fairly new to VA and used our time to "learn" how to put in consults for chiropracter since he is 100% Service Connected. He will see Ortho in Sept for his artifical hip check up. Very glad we made the move for care here in FL.
Sending special thought for Morgan and her family. Hoping this little girl gets great care and treatment.
Hugs, Monica

Monica, sounds like you found a good Doctor. My DH has 100% disability too. We have no complaints about the Doctors he sees. Only problem is it's 2 hours away. But thats not too bad either as we get to see Phyllis & John when we go.
