MORNING everyone else who is still sleeping .
Tis Monday and we are up and ready for the world . Feeling down this am .. Woke up feeling in a funk or a rut .. I try hard not to and to shake that mess so once I get dressed , roll on the paint and head out the door praying for a good day .
SO instead of dwelling and whining I will offer prayers for those that need them , want them and pray that all of you have a blessed day filled a heart filled with joy .
Didnt do much this weekend , just puttered , cleaned alot and got all churched up :)
I am about to make one of those no sew fleece tyed blankets for my grand daughter who lives in Tallahassee. She picked out the fabric by my choice as I want it to be something she will treasure and she is excited as she picked out pink and brown butterflies .. :)
Have a HAPPY day ladies , do your exercise and eat your RAINBOW food :)
Hugs
Shirley
Carla, I bet your daughter was beautiful. Sorry the gentleman didn't know how to mind his own business. People can be so rude. It's good to vent and this is the place to do it.
I had the most excellent day since my surgery. So much energy. Did cleaning, laundry, worked out for an hour and 15 minutes. A new record for me. I got up at 3AM our time and still felt great. Will probably need a nap later on.
They keep saying our temperaturs will drop soon. but it hasn't happened yet. It did rain over night but just added to the humidity.
Did I tell you that a friend of Ellen's (well, business friend) said we had termites in the outside wood of our storage area, So she hired a person to tear it all apart. Then we would have it treated. Well, no termites. We did have a door put in the back of the storage room so we can get yard tools, etc. and go directly outside. Plus the breeze really cools off the laundry and storage rooms. We are having stucco placed rathen wood. I think it's going to be very pretty. Expensive, but pretty.
Going out to lunch with 2 lady friends. Should be fun. We are going to a buffet so I won't be able to bring leftovers home. Such a waste of food and money. But I'm going for the great company anyway. Hoping they have so baked or grilled chicken. I've learned not to try new foods when I'm out. Sometimes it doesn't work well.
Everyone have a great day. Hugs to all, Mag
It was a good weekend. Our son and DIL came for BLT Sunday. Both grandsons are working and we don't see much of them. Plus the younger one is doing soccer practice, and his senior project. I got the clown dress and vest done. Jacket today. Well, that'll take 2 days. Then the little hat. In the afternoons I will keep scanning genealogy documents.
Lots of rain and thunderstorms again yesterday. My back yard is a swamp again. It may take a couple of days to dry up this time.
Sorry to hear about the wedding stress. Unfortunately, that happens too often. Weddings and funerals. We just have to rise above.
I hope everyone has a fantabulous day!
Sorry you had a bad experience with your daughter's in-laws. That really sucks. I am grateful that both my son and daughter's weddings went well. My daughter and her husband paid for most of their wedding. My ex and I were going through our divorce, and my ex gave her a certain amount of money, and that was it. She managed to bring it in for around $5000, ten years ago. Of course, my brother catered it, she just had to buy the food. She used the church hall, which was relatively cheap. It was beautiful, and I bought her wedding gown for her. That was even a bargain, for $500, back then.
My son's wedding was a huge hoopla, and his in-laws paid for that, and the rehearsal dinner, which was a catered meal for all of the out of town relatives and guests. My son paid for the beer and wine at both venues, because the in-laws are not drinkers for religious reasons, and Chris was able to pay for that.
Anyway, my packing is going smoothly. I took down my living room curtains and washed and packed them. They are white lace with a maroon valance. I won't take the bedroom curtains down till the day before the move. My bedroom does not have air conditioning, and the curtains keep the sunlight from heating the room.
Today I have a ton of phone calls to make to doctors, and then a bunch of errands to run. Nothing exciting.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Hugs,
Trish

Good Morning Carla, OFFr's,
Happy that the wedding was fun, sorry to read about the drama, there usually is some surrounding all weddings, but the stepfather sounds like a real sad person having to fabricate things like that. . . well it's done and so long as you enjoyed it and now they can go on their honeymoon (if they are going on one) and well Carla, I imagine one day in the not too distant future you will be a grandma ;) and that is simply the best. . . my son's wedding drama was due to Hurricane Isabel, which was slated to arrive on the day of their wedding, my DIL was in tears the whole week because people were calling to say that if the hurricane hit as scheduled they would not be able to make it. . . it was a top notch affair and they paid for it themselves, with no expectations that anyone else would or could and they put it together in 9 months.
I had a weekend that was just full of bustle and hustle, Saturday Tony came down, we went for breakfast, then to see the Planet of the Apes movie, which while I was not really wanting to see it, I wound up enjoying as it was nothing like the original one, though they left the door open for a sequel, afterwards we went to lunch, then home, hung out and when he left for work, I went to run errands, my AA women's meeting and then bed, yesterday, it poured down rain which was the perfect excuse to clean my house, so I did the front rooms and laundry, took a break and went shopping with my friend Owen to buy a gift for his wife to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary which is today, I took him to the Pandora store, where he bought her a bracelet with three charms, two clips and a pair of earrings, then we stopped and had Red Mango yogurt, yummo, I dropped him back at his car and went home where I prepped food, picked up where I left off on the cleaning side of things and finally sat down at around 8 p.m. to relax before going to bed at 9:30 and then tried to go to sleep, however, it was a bit difficult since my neighbors son was out back with 3 of his friends whooping it up in their pool until almost 11 p.m., but I did not want to be the crotchey old neighbor and I also realized that the boys had been housebound all day due to the rains and so, hey, let them enjoy what's left of their summer vacation, right? lol, so I got about 5 hours of sleep instead of my intended 7, as I got up early and hit the gym. When I got to work this morning, my cousin called to say her Mom had passed early this morning, my great Aunt Mary was 95 1/2 years of age and had a good life up until 4 years ago when she developed dementia, so her passing is a blessing for her and my cousin, who has had to watch and experience this sad state, the last time I saw my Aunt was last year and she did not even know who I was and I grew up with my cousin, always at their house, so it was very sad, but she is at peace and with the rest of our family members who have gone before her, with her passing that is the end of my grandfather's family, she was the youngest and the last to pass, sad to see my family shrinking, but this is life as we age. . . so after work this evening I will go home, pack a bag and head to New York, will stay at my cousin's for the funeral tomorrow.
Wishing you each a very good day and as always, I wish you peace and strength to withstand the more challenging aspects of living.
Laureen

I can't imagine having all the drama you went through on top of the normal wedding jitters. And the rules about money for weddings have changed a lot. My husband and I paid for our own- the whole shebang. I knew my Mom could not afford it- I think that since we were both working and our parents were retired it made more sense to do it ourselves.
Today I go back to work! I'm on the way in just a few minutes. The teachers have been back for a few days already (as I was doing my Mom's funeral) and today the children will come. Since I'm the speech therapist I don't see the kids right away other than visiting the special ed classrooms. I'll go and get my hugs though! I'll have a whole new slew of babies that won't know me yet. but the oldies will come running! They love me...and the hugs are always welcome from my perspective and theirs too. I'll get my hugs from the adults too- they know how much I loved my Mom and the struggles I was having last Spring with her care. I can actually relax now and get absorbed into my job with less outside worries.
I think that's it for today. I hope you are all enjoying a stress-free Monday!
Julia
Thank you for the work you do as a speech therapist.
Don't know if you read this as you were going through your own problems with your mom's death. But the fifth-grade teacher who diagnosis my speech impediment died last week, Sister Madonna Marie Mulqueen (I never knew her last name until recently). I thought of you because of the speech therapy. I so appreciate the work of teachers and school personnel.
Tell her I said hello.
Well more work in the yard today, also my craft area. Hopefully just puttering around, nothing pressing.
As for Morgan, my son said they saw parasites in her bowel movement, it was sent to the lab & they test it for everything except parasites! Supposed to be a new test. He is livid. Today they have a meeting with the Doctor. They are not happy, also a few other things that have been done, without consulting the parents. It's in the orders to always consult the parents, my son is always there, so there is no reason for that.
Right now she is is at Scott & White Hospital, I hope they move her to Texas childrens today.
Ok enough rambling, have a great day all!
