Cindi:

Welcome to the losers' bench! I had a roommate my first night in the hospital ... her CPAP kept going off. Between that, and the nurses waking me up every two hours to walk the halls, I didn't get any sleep.

Most of my doc's patients went home after one day (if they had no complications or problems) ... I had a "heart glitch" ... that's what they wound up calling it because they couldn't find a reason for it. So I stayed a second night with no roommate, which was a lot more peaceful.

Don't know much about the sleeve, other than you don't malabsorb like RNYs and can take NSAIDs, am I right? Good luck with your post-op. You will have a little post-op weight gain because of the IV fluids, so don't be alarmed.

Good glorious morning to you all!

Oh, I slept so well last night in a COOL house!  I'll never take AC for granted again.

This is a happy day for me.  Headed out to Houston in about an hour to pick up my sweet darling husband at the airport this afternoon! I'm leaving a little early today because I want to do some shopping at the big mall near the airport.  I need some shoes for the wedding on Saturday, and I might see what's on the sale rack, too.

We have a full month of travel ahead of us.  Going to that stupid outdoor wedding on Saturday in College Station.  Then on Monday we're headed to Lafayette for a 3 day school (for hubby, not me), but I'm okay with that.  We'll be at the Hilton.  While hubby is in school, I can hang out by the pool or go shopping or read my Nook or watch movies and work on my crochet.  Sounds like a vacay to me!

And then finally we'll be leaving for Canada!  We'll be there a whole week!  I can't wait!  Cool mountains, cool air, cool, cool, cool!

Sweet Julia, I'm praying for you and your mom. I know it's not easy.  All you can do as a family is hold each other's hands and go through it together.  Your mom senses your presence as she makes this journey and she knows she is loved.  You are loved, too.

Grammy, I hope you can get some relief for your back pain soon.  It is slowing you down! Cindi, so glad to see you post this morning.  Gee, I think it was at least a week post-op before I felt like posting.  The best advice is walk, walk, walk, and sip, sip, sip.  You've heard it already, but it's so true.

Trish, you must rise above the pettiness of others.  People are always going to disappoint you.  It's human nature.  But you can still be happy by and with yourself, even when others don't live up to your expectations.  I was in therapy once, and the main thing I took away from that year was that we are each responsible for our own happiness.  We cannot rely on others to make us happy.  We have to make ourselves happy.

Shirley, you are so funny!  Last night on the news, they baked cookies on the dashboard of a car.  Yep, it's hot!

Well, I must get off of OFF now and go get my sweetie!  Love you all!

Shirly you are funny!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning OFF family!!!

Cloudy humidy but breezy sort of day so far here in Willoughby....had a phone call at 1:30 am from who else but Rick's mom asking if he could take Anthony for atleast one day this week! Seems that the babysitter will no****ch him anymore because he is a bad boy...bad? Yes. He is almost 3 and 1/2 and still poops his pants and she will no****ch him any more! I do not blame her at all. Nicole spends all her time running all over hells half acre and then some and doesn't take the time to train her son to go potty!! Neither does Diane when she has him. That poor kid has no idea what to do at all. I feel so sorry for him. A couple weeks ago they had to take him to the dr because of a severe rash on his butt because of him pooping his pants. Its a wonder they didn't report them then for it! They laugh at the poor kid when he poops himself. Like I said, if Diane comes over here while I am home she is going to get an earful!!! Trust me!!! I have had enough!!!!!!!

Last night when Rick went to close the pool up e noticed the lifesaving ring was missing from the pool shed. He found it on the ground. They were using it to play with!!! So today and until further notice the poll is nw closed!!!!!!! Thankyou idiots!!!!!!!!!! And we know who it was that did this! It is the guests in building G. They will be banned from the pool for the rest of their visit here!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!! But while the pool is closed the restof us suffer in this muggy hot weather!!!!! Just because of them!!!!!!!

Well I have to take my neighbor to work because her car is broke down so need to get going now. Will stop back later to add a few more things I need to let you know about.

Thoughts and Prayers to those that need them.

My neighbor guy took me to Walmart this morning....he had a short list -- mine was pretty long.  It was nice to have someone along to reach the things that I wanted that always seem to be on the TOP SHELF.  Riding the electric cart is fun - he accused me of going over the speed limit.
Anyway $87 later, home and everything put away.

Have an appt at the bank at 2 p.m. to re-do my IRA.  Then to the foot dr. at 2:40....going to ask to go back to work starting Monday.  I'm just part time, so don't think it will be a problem.  A lady at work has already said she will come pick me up and take me back home.   I miss everyone.

Calling for my cousin is tomorrow about 15 miles south of here in LaGrange, Ind.  Unless he releases me to drive, don't think I'll be able to go.  Son and DIL will take me on Saturday to the funeral.

Cooled off nicely here and have doors open, but it's very cloudy and gray.....just thankful for the cool air.

Time to fix a bite of lunch and watch Y & R.
Thinking of you Julia, and wishing you peace and strength.
Good-O Debbie on the new job.   Feel Better soon Connie and Trish.  Congrats to our new surgery over gal!

Hugs,
Pat r.

Hi Shirley and my OFF family:

Yeah, I can understand that kind of heat being down in Louisiana. My boss, who also moved here from Michigan, burnt her arm when she used the ATM last summner. True story. it's 99 here and feels like 115, 43 percent humidity, light breeze. Supposed to go up to 104.

Got one load of laundry in the washer to start off, which means I had to get out of my jammies because the the laundry room is off the patio. Didn't do a whole hell of a lot yesterday after the cleaning lady left. Made salsa chicken in the slow cooker and had that for dinner. Have enough left for two or three more dinners. Watched baseball all evening and was so tired I went to bed and tried to sleep early (I did doze off early, but of course, woke up several times). Then I got up with a headache ... pulled the covers over my head and tried to get rid of it because the sun was bothering my eyes. Still, when I finally got out of bed, I had the headache anyway, so I had to take an Imitrex to get rid of it. Wish that would mean we're getting rain, but I doubt it.

So no big plans today, either, other than laundry, and I'll go out later and check mail. Then baseball later today. Hope the White Sox get their act together and can actually beat the Yankees. Boy, they've been pitiful lately. At least yesterday they hit the ball a bit.

Take care. See ya later. Stay cool.
