Finally.....the Dr. called
Hi OFF friends!! I've been missing in action lately, actually reading, just not posting due to not feeling well. The last time I posted, I mentioned stomach pain. Well, last week my DH talked me into going in to see our PCP. The PCP was very concerned about my symptoms. He did a urine test, it came back with blood in urine and white cells so he puted me on Cipro, with 2 refills. Then he had blood drawn and sent me home with fecal smears....never heard of them until then. So, I did 3 days of fecal testing, took the specimen in to his office this past Friday. In the meantime, I ran fever, chills, extreme pain, to the point that I've been taking my DH's pain meds. Not wise but you gotta do what you gotta do. Got the call today that there's blood in my stool and my Dr. is very concered. He faxed my test results over to the GASTRO specialist who did my colonscopy prior to RNY and I will hear back from this Dr. tomorrow. So now I'm worried spitless!! This pain is relentless!! It started on my right side, below my gallbladder surgical scar and radiates to my back. So when I ended up with a urine results showing blood and white cells, that sort of explained the pain in my right back side. The right side over the gallbladder site, I tossed the idea of adhesions around. Then over the wknd, I started with severe pain over my pouch area with burning, thus ulcer. Who knows??!!! Any ideas? Thought I would ask.

Hi Cindy,
I'm sorry you are going through such a rough time. Many hugs to you. I hope it all gets resolved quickly. I just want to remind you that the Emergency Room is always a option. That comes from a retired nurse. I can quit a job but the wanting people to be well and healthy will never leave me. Mag

Mag, thanks for your post & reminders of the ER. Believe me, I've considered it heavily several times when pain got so bad but thank goodness I had some good pain meds available. Our ER department is small and leaves a lot to be desired in emergency care so I dodge it as much as possible. Hopefully, as our town grows, it'll grow and improve. I didn't realize that you worked in a hospital. My hat goes off to people who work in the medical field. Takes special people for that calling.
