Nettie,
Certainly understand your fears and dislike. . . I have my own snake story, my second husband was a kickboxer when I met him and always training, anyway, one day he came home and said I have a present for you, I was all excited until he took out of the big bag a case that was an enclosure with a snake, I just about freaked out, he calmed me down and told me he had gotten it to study it's moves for his kickboxing and told me it was harmless, I relented and let him keep the thing, but I hated when it had to be fed live goldfish and somewhere I have pictures of me with it as I eventually was semi ok with it, but several months later when he came home with a 2nd one, I put my foot down and told him they both had to go, or he did. . . I won that battle, he came home two weeks later with a sick rottie puppy, didn't like that much on the day he brought the puppy home, but with 24 hours that puppy had cost me $260 and I was in love, his name was Max and that is a long story that I won't go into here. Snakes are something I think having gone to Catholic school I associate with evil and therefore don't much want them around. . . carry that hoe and try to be aware without getting paranoid.
Hugs, L

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

We get snakes in our yard every year. My DH learned that spreading sulfur powder around the yard, ditches, and trees will keep them out. The sulfur doesn't kill them, but they hate the smell and won't cross the "barrier". We get the sulfur powder at our local feed & seed store. Don't bother with the stuff they sell at Lowes & Home Depot.
