TGIF y'all! It's payday and Friday, and I'm off!

Yes, I have a day off ... well, just one, but at least it's one. Boy, do I need it. I'm so tired. My cleaning fairy comes today, I have shopping to do, have to pay the dentist so I can schedule my appointment so I can get my cracked tooth crowned. So plenty to do today, even though I won't have to go to work.

Maintenance man forgot to switch the breakers back on, but the woman who lives upstairs discovered this and got the A/c on before I got home ... she was sweltering .... I guess I didn't notice it; I felt like it was a little warmer, but thought I was having a hot flash. Oh well, it's OK now.

No news on my brother's job. The big news flash from my family is my grandnephew, Alexander, has started crawling. Found that out on FB yesterday. Boy, he's getting big and moving around fast.

So what's new with you? Chat among yourselves and I'll be back later. I'm off to bed.

Hi Eileen and all to follow,

I spent most of yesterday doing paperwork and making calls. Just don't like making calls because it always takes longer than it should. So I put them off as long as I can which is pretty stupid on my part. The interest on one of my credit cards went sky high. I called and ask them to lower it. She said the computer won't let her because it's not time for my review. Really? That's one I haven't heard before. So spending some time tomorrow (I guess it's today.) looking for a good balance transfer deal.

Today wasn't too hot, but we had more humidity than usual. I don't know which is worse. My lungs don't like the humidity and my skin doesn't like the hot hot sun (or dehydration.)

Time to clear more space in my closet. Bela is helping me type again. Take later   Mag

Good morning OFF
Boy it has been a long time since I have posted!   been reading most days  but have had poor Internet connections so it was hard to post  or do anything.  I have been mobile most of the summer because of road work in front of my house and some stuff they are doing behind my house that has fumes  my allergies don't like so I have been wandering around in the motor home.  We stayed at the home of friends of angel Mary for several weeks, Helping care for the two old ladies  after a bad auto accident  and the old ladies taught my little ones the use of imagination!   Oh the fun both generations had!  Tea parties!  dolly parties  hide and seek  all kinds of fun these two oldsters had and taught my little ones! I hope they never forget these two delightful grumpy old ladies and the time there!!.  Steve enjoyed  only driving a mile to work!
We are home now  and I am kid free for a while.  When the last crop of kids went to their permanent homes  I decided to take the rest of the summer off from kid care.
Life gets busy sometimes don't it?   I am still fighting those nasty regain pounds  but very slowly winning.
We had 7 baby kittens  6 weeks ago beautiful little ones  that are about ready to go to new homes and I have been having fun poking antibiotics down them.   Our area is having a whole bunch of kitty respiratory infections so I want to make sure they are  healthy so they get good homes.
Welcome to all the new ones here.  I am not a prolific poster  but I am around and always feel welcome when I am here!  This is a nice group!
Have a good day everyone an try to stay cool!!!
Prayers always going up for those who want or need them!!

Good morning OFF family and Happy Friday!
Granddaughter spent the night with us and I dropped her off on the way to work. Rozzie is so much fun and a chatterbox. I wish I could just bottle up her energy! LOL

So for me like Eileen I want the cleaning fairy to come!
It will be a busy weekend for me. Saturday helping out at church for a free dinner to thank our local fire fighters and police and our military. Hope it's not too hot. Then I get to babysit Holly and she loves her stroller rides. She loves to coo and is so happy. I'm one of those people that just loves babies. Looking forward to David Joseph who is going to be born in October.

I'm sitting here typing this taking my vitamins and drinking my water. I did exercise last night in my pool again, we had to add water to the pool, Rozzie loves to splash and we needed the water a little more refreshing anyway since it's been so hot. Michigan was even hotter than AZ yesterday. This weather we are having is kinda "tilted". Now I can't wait til Fall. I do like the changing seasons.

Everyone have a great weekend. Stay cool out there and drink lots of water. Hugs and prayers for all in need. Debbie

Hi all, sober 263 days and so proud of me.
Beautiful here, but expecting Tstorms, need the rain. Not as humid or hot as up north. Pregnant daughter suffering with awful weather....prayers to her!
News reports NFL player will not sign deal with owners....I need football in my life so I am really mad today....as a true longtime football fan it amazes me that a strike can happen, especially with all the $$$ the players and owners make. I am mad and sad to think about all the venders and other people directly and indirectly affected by NOT having football season...how will they live without the income generated by football?
Not much planned for us. Hubby very stiff and hurting.
Hoping Eileen hears about her new job prospect with positive news. Where is Nancy in Canada. Will try and reach her on FB.
Have a safe, cool Friday. Drink water and soak your feet in cold water.
Monica

Good morning Eileen and OFF-

At least two more days of hot and humid.  Didn't help that we had rain storms yesterday to add to the humidity.

Having trouble with bad gas pains.  Don't know if it's my bodies reaction to all liquids, the whey protein or something else.  I now have GasX strips in the car, the house and the purse.  Going to send an email to the NUT to see if this is normal.  Stopped all my chewables today to see if that helps.  I guess I can live on GasX for a while.

Saw my first moose of the summer yesterday.  I saw a nice bull moose still in velvet.  He was singing in the rain or puddle jumping at the rest area as I was driving home from PT.  Fortunately he slunk into the woods and didn't try to cross the road in front of me!  Now all I need is to see a bear for the summer and my summer is complete regarding my favorite Maine fauna!

Not much else is new.  Enjoy the day and stay hydrated.

Yep, it's hot! My paramedic son Bryce said that yesterday they had 15 hours of straight 911 response calls - almost all for heat related issues, including a 5 year old who got dehydrated and collapsed. So all of these plans to keep cool and drink lots of fluids are right on target!

Bryce had great news - he received a promotion a work and is now in a supervisory position. (For those in MIch he works for William Beaumont Hospital.) He is on the road still but also has the other duties and will be teaching classes for new recruits as well. He has insurance (HOORAY!!!) and tuition reimbursement as well. The insurance issue has been a thorny one between him and his dad - his dad has excellent coverage through his job at General Motors, but took Bryce off at about age 23 even though he would have qualified for 2 more years. That's just one of the ex's passive aggressive types of moves.  Anyway, Bryce took a leave of absence from his fire dept. job, and will continue to teach his guitar students as that is where he makes the most money.

It has really been a good week. Mike had a couple of "yes!" moments at work and got a very nice thank you call from an associate - those are hard fought successes, I tell ya. Yesterday was my review at work and I will be getting a raise this year - which in the nonprofit/education sector isn't something to sneeze at. It's not a huge raise of course, but for what we are expected to know and do....well, let's just say that after 8 years I am FAR FAR from even matching where I was salary wise in MIchigan. But...it's all a series of compromises and rewards, right?

Hopefully we will have a quiet day today. I'd like to see HP but it's not Mike's cup of tea - he may go along just to humor me, who knows!

Take care everyone!

Good Morning Eileen and OFF,
I am off today as well.  I worked a few days this week.  I am heading to a neurotomy procedure where I will be put under, and they will be lasering the nerves that are pinched and causing me so much pain.

After that, I must come home and finish tidying up so my landlord can show the apartment to prospective tenants.  I am moving downstairs Labor Day weekend.  I am so thrilled.  I will have a yard and a basement.

Have to run.

Hugs,
Trish

Lap Band on 05/21/07 with
Hi Eileen and all my OFF friends,
I am up early today.  Yay!  Usually my sleeping pills and my chemo make me sleep in mornings.  I was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 6:30a.
I use PeaPod for groceries and it really helps to keep to your list and only getting the right foods to eat.  I had gotten carried away with ginger snaps so those weren't on the list.  I got a lot of fruit.  Cherries, Nectarines, Blueberries and Cantalope.  I have berries given to me by my SIL so tonight I'm making Cottage Pudding.
Trying to tackle my regain.
Have good news if I haven't told you already.  My CT scan still shows the cancer shrinking and they can't see the cancer on my left lung anymore.  Yay.  The new chemo is great.  I won't be as tired on this one.  And so far I have had no side affects except for soreness in the mouth.  They don't have to give me Benedryl with this one so I may be able to go by myself to chemo.
I may actually do housework today!  July 30 is our family reunion on my Mom's side.  I've been getting things together to decorate the pavillion and games for the kids.  The reunion is a picnic at a town park.  If the heat lets up, it should be a fun time.
Stay cool and hydrated everyone.
Hugs and prayers for all,
Bev
