Sharing something very special...!

AND... a portable very compact cd player! I think it is the very one she had with her when she got her WLS! and a gorgeous angel that says much love in small letters at the bottom, I will keep her by me all the time I am there... Will they let me have her with me in surgery? Oh and a packet of protein powder to try!
This reminds me...

has to be clear, this is true?
Ok...ready? The big box contained the beautiful statue of Quan Yin that I have hankered for for many moons! She stands around 2 and 1/2 inches tall and is hand carved of sandlewood, she smells lovely! My daughter has been thru a great deal of pain and suffering over the last 2 years and has come back from the brink of death by suicide... This Quan Yin was one of a collection she had and was given up for sale at one time, along with ALL her belongings. She is back, has a good professional job and is putting her life back together. So I am honored to have this lovely lady to grace my home and to be here as I take on this journey to wellness...
I sure wish I knew how to take and post pictures on the computer..

I have gotten long winded here..but maybe you could read it in installments

Well guess I will let you go, I do want to share my trepidation with you sometime, but right now I have some books to look over! Think about me sometimes and my poor tummy, I better get word on my Date soon or I fear I will not make it to surgery.... thank you and I think about you all and bless you in you goings and comings ...Samantha

I'd consult your surgeon's nutrition on the pre-op diet. My surgeon has us on two weeks of "liquids". Mostly protein drinks, cream soups, yogurt smoothies and protein fortified pudding. I'm on day four of the preop!
I experimented with a number of different protein drinks. I ordered Unjury from unjury.com. My nutritionist gave me a sample packet during my first training session. I order Syntrax Nectar from netrition.com. They have a variety of flavors. I also use EAS Advantage protein shakes. I bought a sample of rice protein drink at the health food store the other day.
If your bargain digital camera has a cable with it you're in business to download pictures. You can usually find the "User's Manual" on line these days. Look at the manufacturer's website.
Hope this helps.

Samantha and Cindi--there are so many protein drink options out there, but the one I like the best is Pro Joe from Bariatric Advantage. It comes pre-mixed in a 9.5 fl oz bottle. I like the vanilla and the mocha flavors best. A little pricey, but then what good is it to buy the cheaper powder if you won't drink it? I like these and I drink one every day. You just have to play around with it until you find one you love enough to drink all the time.
Sam, I never heard the thing about "clear" protein. I'm not sure that's accurate, but check with your surgeon.
And yes, DH stands for "dear husband" "darling husband" or sometimes, as Annette says, "damn husband"! LOL!

Samantha....you are lucky....two gifts at a time and it isn't even a special occasion.....lucky you!!
I was on the 10 day liquid diet pre-op. I had to drink 4 Boost High Protein Drinks a day. I could have all the broth, Sugar Free Jello, Sugar Free Popsicles that I wanted.
I guess I would check in again with your nutritionist if you have any questions. All doctors are different in what they require.
Good luck....I didn't mind the liquid diet at all. I knew at the end of it I would have my surgery!!

Samantha,
What a wonderful gift from your daughter. How thoughtful. Have a nice time reading your books. The statue sounds very nice. I think the purple color of the font very pretty. My digital camera bit the dust. I have the ability to download to the computer. Just don't have anything to download. lol Maybe someday I'll find one on sale or at a yard sale.

Samantha,
That sounds wonderful, the gifts, the fact that your daughter was able to reclaim her life and you on your way to having a healthier life. . .
As for your digital camera, if you know the make and model, you can google it and probably get the manual online on how to operate it. Once you download the pictures on the computer, click on the link I am putting on here, if that does not work, then just copy and paste it into the bar at the top of your computer and it will come up, it gives instructions on how to shrink photos, then you save it to your computer and you can go to your profile on here and upload it. It's easier than you think. . . just takes a little playing with to familarize yourself, oh and by the way, to make an avatar here it must be 100 x 100.

Your surgeon or if you have a nutritionist through your bariatric surgeon, can tell you what protein supplements that want you to be on. While most surgeons put you on clear liquids the first week post-op, they will tell you how to get your protein in and there are actually some protein forms that you can use easily the first week. Again, google liquid protein supplements and you will find what you need, just make sure they are sugar free and don't load up on protein supplements, as after surgery your tastebuds are flat and what may taste good prior to surgery, can be absolutely gross post. There are some that will send you samples.
It is normal to be on an emotional roller coaster leading up to and even post-surgery, but you will do fine and you have us for support. So enjoy your books and good luck.
