 Hi to everyone.

Morning Mag and all to come on Monday. Sober 259 days and so proud of me.
Sure wish I had had $$$$ to buy gold coins.....just went over $1600 an ounce for 24K. Didn't have the $$ then or now, OH well.
HOT HUMID, what is new for you across this nation? We had a 4 hr Tstorm yesterday...so much lighting and thunder and a good soaking of ran. Lush vegetation around us.
Going to Target today, Acer computer on sale at big savings so I will check this out. Also want to look at wirless printer, wonder whick printers have the cheapest ink?? Suggestions please.
Watched Black Swan....I must be too old to appreciate that movie.
Hope all are well, keeping cool and happy. Prayers and hugs reaching out...Monica

Morning Monica -- have to slip in here and post about printers --- I wouldn't buy anything but a Hewlett Packard printer....absolutely the best.   I buy re-manufactured cartridges and have never had a problem - and I do a lot of printing both black and color.  There are several websites for the remanufactured cartridges - 123 Inkjets, is the one I use.

I have netflix and ordered Black Swan -- wonder how I will like it???

Have a great day -- envious of your rain -- we are dry as a bone up here in Michigan.

Hugs,
Pat R.

Hey Pat,

I saw the movie in the theater and it was a very well done (acted) movie, though it is a dark movie in the sense of the nature of it.  I will be interested in what you thought, Natalie Portman was wonderful in the part. . .

Good mornin', ya'll.
Mag, I'm always in bed by 9 PM, and always up by 5:30 or so.
Monica, still so very proud of you and your sobriety. Why can't I control my food addiction like that?
Mom and Dad had 2 Krugerands given to them by very grateful friends. My Sis and I each got one. I offered to buy hers at market value so I would have one for each of my kids. She declined. Sure wish she had taken me up on it. That 1oz of gold is worth twice as much now.
I am waiting for the doctor's office to open. I have pink eye again!! It is always my left eye. In the past it has always happened after an airplane flight. It is usually viral, not bacterial. But, my eye is nearly swollen shut and I have goop, LOTS of goop. Hot washclothes help.
I am always washing my hands. I don't wear eye make up. I don't touch my eyes except when I wash my face. Why does this keep happening to me?!?!
My DH is having a grand time in NE with his brother. Even if I didn't talk to him twice a day I would know by looking at our debit card and AmEx statements. I told the kids he is spending their inheritance. I will do my part this week with my sister.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Hi Mag and OFF family to post later...Happy Monday and again it's a hot one outside!

Weekend flew by way too fast. Had fun at the grand kids birthday party. Then the 2 older ones came home with us for a few hours of fun play in the pool.

Sitting here drinking my water and taking my vitamins. Nothing new with me and pushing myself to exercise in this heat. No excuses, I just gotta do it.

Hugs and prayers to all in need, let's all be kind to ourselves today, don't beat yourself up if you indeed can't exercise in this heat. Especially for people who don't have air conditioning. Debbie

HI DebbieJean:
That's what I said this morning when I got on my recumbent bike -- with the a/c running and a fan on me, I was still perspiring!! But I got 'er done.  That's what counts.   I went over to my 87 y/o next door neighbor's part of the house and made sure her a/c was running -- it wasn't, so I set it correctly and it came on....she can't see and tho't she pushed the button to cool, and it was on OFF.

We need to watch out for those older folks who think they can get along with only fans --- not in this heat....so check on them.

Pat

Well done Pat!! Keep exercising and am so glad you checked on your neighbor. This heat is unbearable, the humidity is sky high. Ugh...I know my car is baking outside and when I leave it will be over 100 inside my little car but thank goodness I have air in my car.

When I get home the pool will be in the shade and I can workout with my new noodle and do my sit ups and jog around in circles, do jumping jacks and cross country skiing and froggie jumps...love my froggie jumps! It really stretches me out and makes my back feel better.

Keep biking away Pat! So proud of YOU! You rock!!

Morning Mag and fellow OFFrs-

Hot and sticky this morning.  Ten day forecast is predicting a week of this sticky weather.  Just finished pedaling and will head to the shower next to get rid of the sweat!

Today starts my two weeks of liquid pre-op.  Not stressing at this point.  Had my farewell to solid food for awhile weekend and managed to avoid going over board.  Proud of my choices for the weekend.  Going to have to adjust the pre-op diet to handle the heat, don't think soup is going to cut it except for breakfast.

Lots to do over the next two weeks.  Have the little cabin to prep for my cousin who is coming to stay with me.  Also have to clean the house as it is a disaster area.  I've got two knitting projects started.  Making a pair of wool socks for myself to keep my feet warm this winter.  I'm also starting another felting project, a hot pink backpack for a young friend of mine who will graduate from high school this year.

Still designing the retirement quilt in my head but I'm going to start putting it down on paper now and start sewing.  Think I'm going to move the sewing machine to the screened porch where it is cooler.  May also move the computer downstairs so it's cooler.

So that's all from me  today.  Hydrate folks and try to stay cool.

Cindi,

Try not to fuss over all those cleaning projects for the next two weeks. No sense in wearing yourself out before WLS.

It is not farewll to solid food forever. Time will pass quickly and you will discover all sorts of food you begin to enjoy. Some foods you love now may no longer have an appeal too, so don't be surprized.

Make sure to pack chapstick for the hospital stay. That was the most important item for me. A pillow to rest against your tummy for the ride home is good. You will feel every tiny bumps in the street.

Rest, relax and try not to worry.
