Judy,

Mom did canning every year and that meant we girls did canning duty too. I swore that I would never can again. So far I have kept my promise. Mom canned so much we had a kitchen in the basement just for canning, etc so the upstairs didn't get overwhelmed with the process. One year some of the canned tomatoes explored. Guess who got to clean up that mess.
Hope they find an answer to your "punk" problem at your complex.

Good thoughts coming your way.    Mag

Mag, my mom used to can years and years ago...I tried watching her but was told I was in her way...oh well...then a year or so before I left Michigan she was going to can pickled beets and I asked her to show me how to do it. She said for me to buy the beets and she would show me how to make them. Well I got the beets and by the time I got over to her house she had over Half the recipe done!!! GRRRRR So I had her send me the recipe once I moved to Ohio and I tried making them on my own...took me a couple tries but FINALLY they came out good!!! I haven't made them again!! I have a couple pints left and its all I need. LOL

Sorry that you had to clean up that mess from the exploding tomatoes!!! That had to be onbe big mess!!!!

The cops come through here every once in a while but I guess the punks KNOW when they will arrive so the cops are now changing their ride times through here...haha smart huh?? The guy I mentioned from the pool is a middle aged man and should KNOW better but ofcourse he doesn't!!!! JERK!!!!

Hope they figure out your REM sleep disorder soon so you can get some much needed rest!!!

Hi Carla and OFF friends,

Carla:  Time is flying by. The wedding will be here before you know it!!
Debbie:  We love watching the birds in our backyard. We make sure they have water during these hot summer months. Now that Ellen is working full time she said we can start feeding them again. That's even more fun.
Nan: Have a great time with the family!!

Annette:  Glad the Zumba in water was so much fun. I'll check to see if one of our community pools have a class.

Monica:   255 days!!! That's wonderful.  Also, it's good to take a day off from the SS rat race. Enjoy. Has anyone hear from Bev?

Mona:   So sorry for your loss.  Prayers said for you and her family.
Well, I had my second sleep study last night. With my Bi-PAP on my O2 was in range so I don't need O2 at night. The bad news is that I still had no REM sleep. They increased my pressures but that didn't help me. Said I will need another sleep study to find a way to get a restful sleep. Think how much better I feel when we have an answer to my problem. I'll be ready to take on the world. I wish I knew someone in the sleep study field that I could talk to about this. I doubt if googling it will give me the info I'm looking for, but it's worth a shot.
       HUGS to all,    Mag

Morning everyone!

Just a quick fly by today.  Got much to do before I leave for Waco tomorrow.  Mostly I just want to post to see my ticker go down another pound!  LOL!  Onederland, I'm gonna get to you soon!

On the canning topic: I do love to make jams and jellies and pickles.  But canning all those vegetables?  Phooey.  Sometimes I get suckered into it, but most of the time I figure the canned ones at the store are just as good if not better.  I do freeze produce from the garden though, because we have a big stand alone freezer and I have room for it.

Picked up a couple of patterns for me at Hobby Lobby yesterday.  Sale price $.99 each!  I need something to wear to an outdoor wedding next month.  Yes, I know.  It's insane.  An outdoor wedding in Texas in August.  I don't care if it IS at 7 p.m.  We are all going to broil.  Anyway, if I can find the right fabric at JoAnn's Fabrics next week in San Antonio, I may try to make me something lovely and COOL to wear.

Well, gotta run!  Love you all!

Good morning to all my OFF friends. Oh, how I have missed you this week. I stopped by to check on ya'll but didn't post. Been a busy, crazy week for me. DH's dad is back in the nursing home from the hospital. Has congestive heart failure and extreme dimentia. Sad to watch him deteriorate so fast. He will be 94 on the 24th of this month. Went to see him on Tues. After that, we went to Wal-mart & the commissary. Got home & put groceries away. Just as I was putting my feet up, my Mom's neighbor called ith news that Mom had fallen and was taken to the hospital with pain in her left hip & leg....you guessed it...fractured and had surgery yesterday afternoon. Mom is 80 yrs old. Very proud of her for not wanting strong pain meds that make her head all fuzzy. She said she wants to be alert, aware, and know what is going on around her. My sister drove down from Greensboro yesterday and is with her while I am working. I have delegated some responsibilities to my sis so she can make some of the decisions. I've been doing it all for about 9 yrs now. Mom will be moved to a nursing home/rehab for physical therapy before being able to go home. Been there, done that with her before and she was horrible to everyone. The nursing staff called her doctor that time and begged him to release her because she was so bad. This time, I have threatened her that if she doesn't cooperate, and understand that she is not the only person in the world, that she will not be released to go home and live in her apartment. She has to work at getting healed.

Been praying for all of you. Julia, taking care of your Mom and the news you recently received. Monica, aone day at a time, and the SS issues. Carla, praying your headache eases up and you can enjoy your daughter's wedding stress-free. Miss you all so much when I don't get a chance to stop by for a visit. Vickie, I would be in Tx to help you cut that 10 acres in a heartbeat if I could. Just keep the cold water handy!

Hugs to you all,
Kristi
