Why do you have to wean off the Celexa, Pat? I know how hard it is to get off an antidepressant ... I was really a bear. I was itchy, too.

About 3 months ago I was having trouble coping, so asked for a small dosage of Celexa.....I am doing fine now, and don't want to take it any more, so he said to cut the dose in half for 1 week, then stop it all together.    Started weaning off Sunday and so far I am doing great.

It was such a small dosage, didn't have the withdrawal some might.

Thanks for asking tho'

Morning Monica & all. Monica, I know I don't say it enough, but I am so proud of you being sober! My dad quit drinking cold turkey & I know how hard it was for him.

Kudos for hubby too. Men & kids, sometimes the only way to tell the difference is their size!

Well I picked a gallon size bucket of tart cherries yesterday. Got them all pitted & in the freezer. I just got started on the tree, so I should get a lot of them. Had fresh green beans, sugar snap peas & the last of the asparagus out of the garden this week. So good! Raspberries are starting now, they are 2 weeks late this year. It's a good thing, I get myself so overwhelmed when things are all readt at once.

Today more cherries, grocery shopping, sewing, & at some point I have to clean & do laundry. I love to hang clothes outside, but the humidity is too high today.

Thank you all for the friendship we have here!!

Nan, how hard is it to pit cherries?  You must have a cherry pitter or something.  Pitting peaches takes forever. I can't imagine doing cherries!  How did your maraschino cherries turn out?

Hi Vicki, the tart cherries aren't to bad to pit. I have seen them do it at the orchards & they use a machine. Here I squeeze the cherry opposite the stem end & use a litter pressure to get the pit out. Most of the time the pits pop out. You really need to make sure they are ripe. They aren't perfectly round anymore, but thats ok. They are alot cheaper than buying them. I did another gallon sized bucket in less than 2 hrs.
PM me you address & I will send you a sample of the homemade jam & a small jar of marachinos!

Just have to say that I have read Monica's post twice....and laughed out loud both times!

Monica, you remind me of Erma Bombeck sometimes!

Hi Monica and my OFF family:

Congrats to you and hubby for him replacing the TP roll the right way. How lucky you are. My dad was persnickety about that ... there was only one way to replace the TP, and it was under. Mom and brothers do it that way, I am an over person. I was always the rebel in the family. My dad always replace the TP roll, but then there was only one of him (well, two more, my brothers are just like my dad, cooking and cleaning ... it's why I'll never marry because there aren't any more of them).

I made my zucchini bread yesterday. I posted this on FB yesterday ... I had the two loaves in the oven and was cleaning up and putting things away, when I saw the Splenda sitting there ... OMG, I forget to put the Splenda in! So I quickly pulled the loaves out (they had been in there five minutes) and stirred in half of the amount in each loaf. They turned out OK. I already had to sub some oil for the applesauce because I was short. But it tastes good. Nice and moist, too. I wasn't sure I had enough zucchini in there because some of the zucchini was still frozen, so I had to pitch it. But oh well, it tastes good. I'll bring one loaf into work, not tell anyone what's in it is good for them.

I slept wonderfully again last night, slept til 11 a.m.; got up at 9 when I heard the cellphone ring but ignored it. Went back to sleep and slept another two hours with strange dreams but I'm well rested.

It's 101 degrees here already, feels like 110. Nasty. Staying inside until I have to go to work.

Well, I need to get into the shower. Have a good day. Stay cool.

Hello Monica and OFF friends,

Monica could you please send your hubby out here so he can teach my sis to do the same. I swear she got mostly my Dad's genes and not too many from my Mom. She takes care of the yard, water's plants, takes out garbage, and does some handy man things around the house.

I had my appointment with the cardiologist yesterday. We have been weaning down on my heart medication since I started losing weight. She stopped it all together yesterday. What a wonderful feeling. I'm thrilled.

Other news is not as good. We now know why I'm always so exhausted. My sleep study results showed absolutely no REM sleep at all. They say I was literally waking up every few minutes even though I don't have any memory of it. They suggested O2 at night for low oximeter readings, I'm have a repeat done tonight to readjust my BI-PAP machine. I'm in the severe category. I thought that the sleep apnea would improve with such a big weight loss.

Steve and I got together at lunch time today. Talk about moving slow. We hugged when I was leaving. Owning his own business means long hours. He works 12 hours a day 6 days a week. He is suppose to call so we can set up a date for dinner.  I'm still in the infatuated stage. Very nice man.

Thinking of you all. Take care,    Mag

Well, that's just too sweet!  I love that you have a new man in your life!  Slow is good.  Crossing my fingers for you!

Sorry to hear about the sleep problems.  We just take so much for granted, don't we?  Sleep seems like one of those things that should just "happen naturally".  I sure hope they can fix it for you.

Great news about the heart meds!  Your co-morbidities are decreasing!
