Hump Day, Wednesdays Wonders Whats UP?

Hi Monica,
I just got home from work.  I went in early today to complete an online assessment required of all employees.  Then, I did some training for some things required of social workers at this hospital.  I was only supposed to work till 12:30, but my supervisor wanted to have me do a few more things, so we had lunch and then I learned two more things.

My feet are killing me.  I need to find some type of slippers that can pass for regular shoes.  I am required to not wear open toe shoes, and the heel can't be open either.  My dress shoes kill me to wear for more than an hour or so.  Sneakers look so unprofessional for me.  If I wore scrubs, like the nurses or techs, especially because they are on their feet more, it would be acceptable to wear sneakers, unless I got some plain ones, not athletic looking.  I will go looking this weekend.

Tonight, I have an appointment with my psychiatrist and then I am going up to visit my daughter and the Munchkins.  I am going to take my camera and try to get a good shot of them together, and them with me.

I hope everyone has been having a good day.  I will read through all the posts in a few minutes.

Hugs,
trish

New Balance actually has some dress-type shoes that are fairly comfortable. I can't really wear dress shoes, but I found a pair of sandals last year when I was job hunting that were acceptable for me. I know you said you can't do sandals, but maybe if you find a New Balance store, you could find something that would work for you. They have wider width shoes. Some of their "sneakers" are in black or brown, so they look like work shoes.

Thanks Eileen,
As soon as I read your post, I went to the website and ordered two pair of dressy looking shoes in my size.  They were both on sale, and I got shoes that regularly go for $149 for $44.  If they fit, I will be thrilled.

Thanks for the lead.

Hugs,
Trish

Glad I could help. I love New Balance. I don't have a store near me anymore, but I have ordered from the website. They're expensive, but it's all I wear. I have bad feet ... severe pronation, need orthotics, the whole nine yards. So when I find comfortable shoes, I don't care how much they cost.

I CROC or CLARK for shoes. Feet so bad, I need to feel the ground. Still wear my original pink CROC's I got in 2003.
