Good morning Monica and everyone....

Nothing new here. Tomorrow morning I go up to MN to get my other granddaughter Amanda(17). She will be here about 12 days...we are all so excited!! Especially me....she will be a great distraction for Grace. I might actually get some quiet time!!
Since I have been here I had only read a 1/2 of a book. In less than two days I read 1 1/2 books. It felt great...I miss my reading!!

My other granddaughter Kyleigh (19) is still in the hospital. They are trying to get her meds straightened out...and her head too. She sounded so much better when we talked yesterday. I keep praying for her. She lives alone and I know it isn't always easy for her. Hopefully she will be able to come and visit us soon.

Time to make Gracie some breakfast. Have a great day everyone!!

Prayers for so many in need....a few special ones as well.

Love and hugs to all......connie d

Connie--praying for Kyleigh!  I've been down that road with my youngest daughter who is bi-polar.  I meant to write you the other day and tell you how proud I was of you for advocating for her.  It's heartbreaking to watch our young adult children and grandchildren struggle with life, but thank God she has your support.

I love to read, too!  Do you have an e-reader?  If not, I highly recommend getting a Nook!  I absolutely LOVE mine!  They will have to pry it out of my cold, dead fingers when I die!  LOL!

Enjoy your time with Amanda!  I know you and Gracie will love having her there!

Thank you so much Vickie. I can only imagine what you had/have gone through with your daughter. Bless your hearts!!

They don't want to diagnose Kyleigh as Bi-Polar if they can correct her meds and keep her at Major Depression. They said that diagnosis would cause her difficulties in the future. She is still a bit borderline. I feel like a major mental health issue of any kind is all the same. Once labeled always labeled. I have plenty of my own I deal with. It shouldn't be something to be ashamed of!!

Thanks for caring and understanding...huge hugs...connie d

Morning Monica, OFFr's,

Hope you have a good day and congrats on another day of sobriety!!!

Yesterday went by quickly and I went home and shopped for the rest of this week, we have a place called Produce Junction which sells produce, plants, flowers and such stuff and their produce is generally good and more importantly reasonably priced, though some of it is in bulk, but for $23 I got 3 bunches of scallions, romaine hearts, vine ripened tomatoes, about 8 of them, a huge bag of baby spinach, 5 nice red bell peppers, cucumbers, radishes, dill, anise (which is a licorce tasting celery like vegetable) and two boxes of strawberries, two boxes of blueberries, figs and grapefruit.  I then went home and proceeded to make salads to get me through the next few workdays, cut up the berries and when I was done, I sat down and spent time with the Roxie girl.  So other than some melons, I am done at least until next week with produce.  I have lots of chicken and fish in my freezer and will tackle cooking over the weekend.

I am at work, very quiet here and after work, Tony is coming down and we will have dinner and hang out.  I had intended to go to the gym today, but my alarm never went off this morning and I woke up at 5:35 which was too late to go to the gym, guess I needed the sleep. . .

Anyway, I wish you all a wonderful day and sending wishes for peace and strength for any in need of some. . .

Hugs, Laureen

Good morning Monica and OFF friends,
Just stopping by while I'm at work. Monica, your strength and dedication to a cause is inspiring. I feel like you are out there fighting for all of us. Congrats on another day of sobriety, you rock!

I had my consultation yesterday with my surgeon. My date is set for 7/28. I'll start my pre-op high protein, low or no carb diet Sunday and switch to liquid diet 2-3 days before surgery...I hate the word "diet", I think I'll use "program" instead...

I want you all to know your friendship, support, and advise means everything in the world to me. Regardless of the type of surgery we have chosen, the journey is similar and the destination is the same...to be the healthiest and best "us" we can be.

Love you all and I'll be back later after work

Kristi--I hate the word "diet", too!  I say "new eating regimen"!  Ha!  It's WLS-speak for diet!!!

Morning Monica and OFF family!!!!

Had a good sleep last night for a change!! Got our new memory foam matress topper from QVC and it was like sleeping on air!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Off work today and tomorrow YIPPPEEEEE!!!!!!! I am getting to dislike it more and more with all the drama that goes on there along with the back stabbing!!! Not saying any more about it...:-(

So far today the weather is nice its 78* right now and cloudy. Calling for some storms later this afternoon and tonight. Great.

Need to go to the store for some fruits and veggies. I am craving a honey rock melon for some reason...not sure if those are ready yet or not. There is a fruit/vegetable market not far from here and I am going to go check it out later.

So other than that nothing new to talk about. OH!!! I did see a couple deer in the yard across the old apartment I used to live in!! It was two does and they just stood there watching me and Bandit. We moved away and finished our walk. Saw the managers daughter out with her friend and asked them if they saw the deer. No they said and asked where at. I told them over there and to be very quiet and walk slow so they wouldn't scare them away. They did as told and saw them then they got bored looking at them so they scared them away!!!! GRRRR They found me again and I asked if they saw them and told me what they did...I told them to be careful because those deer will come into their backyard one day and then see who is afraid!!! Their eyes got so big!!! LOL But yes those deer do come back where they live. They live under my old apartment....:-)

Well guess I better get ready to check out that market. Also need something to eat. Hope you all have a wonderful day and know that I am thinking of you all!!

HUGS

Hello and Good Morning to all,
Monica: the days are flying by. You are doing great.
Going to dentist and then Sharon and I will meet for lunch.  Nothing else. Last night was a horrid storm in Tucson. Wind gusts up 80 miles per hour. Lots of trees down. Other damage as well. 18,000 people still without electricity.

I haven't heard from my son.  I imagine he is all right or I would have heard.  He was home all last week, but is in an Arabic refresher course now.  Hope he and the grandkitties weathered the storm okay.  Hope your home and trees are okay also.
