Well let me talk to my daughter's and see which day would be best for me to take jaunt, oh and then I will need to rent a car for the day, so tell me which days are definite no nos for you.  I actually have hung out with Carla a couple of times, once on a visit down there and a couple of other times elsewhere and Lynn I am happy to say and I know each other fairly well through our Barix support group. . .  anyway, it would be nice to get together, maybe share lunch.

Congrats on another sober day and hopefully I can meet you in person. ..

Ok Carla,

I was thinking of trying for Friday, but I do have to run it past my daughter's in case they had other thoughts, but it would be nice to see you, even for a couple of hours and I'm talking daytime, figured lunch or something, but if it can't happen, it can't happen, I totally understand.

Take care and enjoy having Carl home. . .

That would be really nice, so if you were to come up after the appointment, what are you, like 2.5 hrs. away?  Let me just clear the decks with my girls, I know my one daughter said she might need to go into work for part of one day, so I'm thinking maybe I'll tell her to do it that day. . .  I will get back to you by Monday, just give me an idea of what time you think you'd arrive in the area.

Be well, Laureen

We are two hrs away from Orlando. If can spare time maybe we can do a half way lunch together. I do not drive anymore, not good enough feeling in my feet to feel secure in working petals. So I would need to rely on Carla for a ride. Hubby might be willing.
Our expected Gbaby is due in Oct, so we are planning a trip up north for after the birth and to do the family holidays since we will be here for those. Also planning trips up north for late July or Aug.
But everything depends on hubby's doctor visit, he may a new hip replacement on his old hip replacement and the other hip. Also don't know what will be happening with my doc app. But I will keep you posted.
Oh I would love to hug you in person.

Good morning Carla and everyone!

It's a little overcast, and thus a little cooler here this morning, but it won't last.  Forecast is for highs around 103 F today.  Good thing we're staying in and remodeling, huh?  (I think I would rather be in the water with a cold drink and a good book, like Monica!)

Yes, Cindy, I agree 100% with you.  It's wonderful to be friends here and wonderful to be friend on FB!  I love looking at the pictures and getting to know the other side of everyone's lives.  Carla, your new pic on FB is fantastic!  You look like a model!

Since I took that long nap yesterday afternoon, I have to be productive today.  Hubby has a bad shoulder, so it falls to me today to take down the ceiling tiles in the guest bath.  I've never done anything like that before, and I have to be careful of my shoulder too.  Should be interesting.

Hubby took out the closet in the spare bedroom yesterday, and discovered that the old plumbing is cast iron drains with molten lead holding it all together!!!  Is this house old or what?  He's scratching his head this morning, wondering how he's going to cut the old pipes, seal them off and then move the plumbing to a new wall.  When we finish, the bathroom will be 2 feet wider, which is going to make it feel so much bigger and so much less like a literal "water closet".

I'm getting very excited about our little grandson's birthday party on Saturday.  I'll have to shut down the remodeling on Thursday and start getting things ready for the party.  Clean the house, go grocery shopping, bake and decorate the cupcakes, make the watermelon fruit bowl, etc.  We're going to buy a "party pack" from Rudy's BBQ, so I won't have to do much cooking.  They'll provide the meats and the sides.  But I want to make a fruit bowl (mainly for me and the kids), a veggie tray, and some chips and dips to go with the meal.

Well, I need to get moving.  Time to go out and feed all my little mommies this morning.  I thought yesterday that one of the big bucks was going to come up to me.  He was very curious about what I was feeding little mommy.  I might get him to approach me one of these days.  Wouldn't that be something?

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!

Love you all!

Good Morning OFF-

Back in Maine after five days in Ohio attending my college Alumni weekend.  Had not been back to college since graduation other than a drive thru three years ago.

It was a great weekend.  Got to hear my old roommate sing professionally for the first time.  The theater department has a musical cabaret and she sang two numbers.  Brought tears to my eyes it was so great.  She was always singing when we lived together but didn't really major in music or voice while in college.

Lived in the dorm for time there.  Talk about time warp!  I had asked to be close to the bathrooms thanks to my leaky bladder.  Mistake because the noise was incredible.  Roomie was down the hall with her daughters and it was quieter.  It didn't help that I was next to the sorority girls who were reunioning without there DH's and were quite rowdy.  Ah well, life changes us in 35 years or maybe it doesn't.

Keep on plan with the high protein and low carbs for the most part.  A few exceptions but didn't guilt myself to death about it.

Notified the surgeon last Thursday that I want to go forward with the WLS.  Should hear something this week from the scheduling.  I'm going to have to coordinate support schedules with my close friend here in Maine and my cousin.  Shades of being back at work again.

My CPAP machine died over the weekend so now I'm also waiting for a call from the equipment provider.  Strange sleeping without my mask and the quality of my sleep has not been good for the last three nights.  Sciatica reared it's ugly head with all the different seats and movements during the travel to and from Ohio.  Did more walking at the reunion than I have done in a long while.  Clear that I am not physically fit.  Going to try to start walking daily now that the black flies have died off here in Maine.

Way to go Monica on the sobriety!  That's awesome!

Vickie have fun with the remodeling.  I used to enjoy doing stuff like that, maybe it will happen again for me after the surgery.  Hope there aren't any fires in the area.

Hope all is well with the rest of you.

Cindi, it is a WONDERFUL BLESSING to regain your mobility!!!  I can go up and down ladders, get up and down off the floor, and get out of the bathtub on my own again!  It will happen for you, too!
