It's Tuesday, what's new?
I'm sitting here at the lakehouse this morning, but we're talking about heading for home tomorrow, so this is probably the last day of vacation for us. We've been so busy, I haven't had much time to "plug in" and check on everyone. But this morning, DH is cooking our breakfast, and since I have a few minutes, I wanted to at least say hi to everyone.
We've had a good time here at the lake, although the weather hasn't been especially cooperative. We've only been out on the boat one time! It's been way too windy, for one thing. When you see whitecaps on the lake, you know it's not a good day for boating! And the silly weather turned COLD here again yesterday. WTH? It's MAY in TEXAS! I had to wear a jacket all day yesterday. Crazy weather.
Today will be my housekeeping day around here. I need a cleaning fairy here at the lake! Oh, well, guess it won't hurt me to do it myself, will it now? Won't be too bad. Since I have so little furniture here, all I really have to do is sweep and vacuum and clean the bathrooms. I already washed the linens on the guest beds.
This weekend we have our annual POA meeting at the other lakehouse. I'm on the Board there, so I have a lot of prep to do before the big meeting on Saturday. I'll be glad when my term is up next year. I want to be free to come and go now to see my grandson and daughters. Seems like I'm always having to hurry back to make a Board meeting.
I've been doing real well with my food this week, but I keep forgetting to take all my pills and vitamins! Not on purpose, but I get so busy during the day. I look up and it's 4 or 5 o'clock, and I realize that I've missed my mid-day pills. I need to get myself better organized. Can't wait to get home and see how much I've lost this past week. Hubby says I'm looking thinner.
I was glad to read some of the news this morning on everyone. I think about you all, even if I'm too busy to respond! DH says breakfast is ready, so I need to close. Having a poached egg and turkey sausage this morning. Gotta keep the protein up!
Yes, Eileen it has been awhile since you started the thread. Nice to see you first thing this morning. I miss my cleaning fairy..I am her now...LOL
Not much happening here this morning....just the usual. Nothing much planned . Need to take back some video's later this afternoon.
My BFF Pam called...her boyfriend had a stroke. He (52) is in awful health....doesn't take care of himself. His BP is threw the roof. VERY dangerously high. His Triglycerides are over 1200...just insane!! He has a sleep disorder and sleeps all the time. Has spells where he passes out...wouldn't go to the doctor. The list goes on and on. He can't work....he pretty much lives off her. Hope now that he is in the hospital he gets things straightened out.
Wishing you all a beautiful day.
Prayers for so many in need.
Love and hugs to all...connie d
Hello everyone.
It is overcast and cool today. We need rain but haven't gotten any. It teases us then goes away. We went from 80's and 90's to 60's and 70's. It get wierder and wierder.
I have gotten caught up in Ancestery.com. I started entering data and kept getting these leaves and just had to look at the hints. I spent all day chasing rabbits. I did however find some interesting things. I saw the passenger list of the ocean transport "Lapland" that my grandparents took after their marriage. My grandfather was a soldier in WWI and met and married my grandmother in Germany and brought her to the states. I was hoping to find a copy of my many greats grandfather's ( that came here in 1717 with the Germanna Colony) naturalization papers. That would be his naturalized British citizenship papers. I know they are in private hands but I wish they would be given to a museum.
This past weekend we went to see Ariadne Auf Naxos an opera by Strauss. I had never seen it before and really enjoyed it. We also went to Galveston but it was too windy to sit or walk on the beach. We were buffeted by sand and salt, not pleasant.
Other than that not much going on with me.
I am sending up prayers for those who are recovering from illness and "stuff". Wishing all a good day
I am doing pretty good today - no pain to speak of, but this not being able to sleep is starting to tire me out. I don't nap during the day at all, so can't figure out why I can't sleep at night. I am also having some bowel issues today and just talked to the doctor's ofc about that. It's probably going to resolve itself, hopefully.
I've done two loads of laundry today, walked out to the mail box twice, cleaned the cat box, and picked up around the house -- must keep going to get my full strength back. I truly feel like I can see light at the end of this tunnel now!
Best wishes and good thoughts to all,
Pat R.
