Attitude
Hi Everyone,
Listed below is the meaning of ATTITUDE.
Attitude: A position of the body or manner of carrying oneself. A state of mind or feeling with regard to some matters. I realized that during my weight loss my entire ATTITUDE changed about how I thought and what I was feeling. I always had confidence in myself, but my confidence really started to increase as I lost weight. My new ATTITUDE was that I could for the first time in a long time start to believe that I was going to achieve my weight loss goal. The closer I got to my goal my weight loss seemed to slow down—now what. But, with my new and improved ATTITUDE I knew what I needed to do to make it happen. I had to step up the exercise more. I did this and my ATTITUDE just kept getting better. Now once I got to my goal, I had the skills to maintain this weight loss. So everyone, I want you to get in touch with your ATTITUDE. We are here to help you with your confidence, be your new friends, and support you from this site. I want you to have the ATTITUDE that you can do anything you want in life including this journey you are on to lose weight. I was 63 when I started this and by 64 I was well on my way. Why did it take me so long to develop this ATTITUDE? I am positive that I would have never done this if I wouldn’t have gone to Dr. Aceves and his staff and had “Sleeve" WLS, I would have struggled like I had been doing for 30 some years. He gave me the tool to do this, I did the work, I developed by ATTITUDE and I became successful. Now it is your turn to follow so many of us who have done this. We are there for you every step of the way. NEVER give up on your dreams. Dreams do come true, I am living proof of it. Is it easy—No way is it easy—it doesn’t just melt off of you. It requires work and commitment on your part. Making lifestyle changes to eat healthy, and incorporate some exercise with it. I know a few who have not done any exercise and that is OK, they said they just lost a little slower. For me I actually started to like how I felt when I would exercise. So make your plan, ask for help if you need it, and ask us any questions that you might have. I can only speak about my experience that I had with Dr. Aceves, because I knew he was the best before I went to him after all my research. It is all about ATTITUDE so work on your ATTITUDE. This is ALL about YOU and NO one else. Hugs to you,
Suzanne B

Hey Debbie,
64 years young! Love meeting someone near my age. I am happy for you and your success. I used to hate exercise, but now seem to crave it. I no long live to eat everything. I now eat to live. And I have found that I enjoy so many of these healthy foods. We always share a meal if we go out to eat.
Hugs, and keep up the great work.

Hi,
I find myself looking at ALL the food that you get when you eat out. I am always saying that is "way too much food". Do you remember that day when we ATE ALL that food?
That is how we got fat and stayed fat. NO one needs to have that much food at one time. That is half the problem with the people in the US now.
It is amazing how your thinking really changes after having weight loss surgery. I wished they would have had the "sleeve" surgery when I was in my late 30's and I wouldn't have had to fight the battle of lose it gain, lose it gain it.
Now I know I will NEVER gain it back. I don't feel deprived at all. I can taste anything I want, and the things I know that would eat too much of never get to come to my home. Makes it a lot easier doing it that way.
I have enjoyed our messages back and forth. It is hard to find people in this age group who do go ahead and have some kind of weight loss surgery.
I think too many of them are NOT WILLING to give up eating all that food--but that is their choice. For you and I we wanted something better.
Have a great day and hugs,

Yep and I used to love going to buffets. I call them "feeding troughs" now. Thank goodness my hubby doesn't care for that type of food/restaurant.
Even though I have had the surgery, I still have to fight my weight. Food calls to me. I'm a food addict and a chocoholic. Thank goodness I'm not a drinker. I chose exercise as my "transfer addiction" before I even had surgery. Why? Because I have an addictive personality. I haven't gotten this weight issued whipped by any means. I'll continue to practice my Mindful Eating and watch my calories. At my lowest weight (145) I was wearing a size 6 and some 4's. I had regain due to "life issues" recovering from surgery and not exercising like my body was used to. At one time I was exercising 3 hours a day (not all at once). Now I'm recovering still from surgery in July from a small bowel obstruction due to adhesion's. I'm back on track and slowly losing my weight. Babysteps! Hugs and keep posting! Love your Attitude girlfriend! Debbie

Hi Debbie,
I hear you when you said you regained some weight. I put on about 10 pounds when we were remodeling our entire kitchen--we had out 2 times a day for about 3 months. Now I am getting it off. I have lost 5 of the 10 pounds. I usually do pretty good when it comes to food choice. Late night snacks are NOT good for me eight. I also have had issues with sleeping at night, but find that people "our age" and have never had any WLS also have issues with sleeping.
So after talking with my doctor she has prescribes Amytriptyline for me. I took the first pill last night at bed time and WOW it worked. So if I am not up in the middle of the night, I will not be eating anything.
Have a great day,
Hugs
