What's New- MONDAY
Good afternoon, OFF!
I'm late getting on here today. My poor sweet hubby had extensive oral surgery this morning and I've been playing nurse all afternoon. Poor baby! He's been through it since he's been home.
We had a pretty wonderful Easter yesterday. It's so much fun to have a baby in the house again. I have some pics I need to post, but I'm a little too wrung out to try today. I am proud to report that I had no trouble staying out of the chocolate and the jelly beans at all. However, I did have a cupcake (made with a sugar free cake mix!). But I haven't touched them today.
Started reading Water for Elephants this morning and I'm hooked! I've been trying to get back to it all day long.
Good to hear all the news from everyone today! Especially happy to hear from Judy about her mom. Well, I'm needed elsewhere. Daughter and baby are still here today, but leave tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm trying to get in all the last minute hugs and playtime I can!

I am so proud of you. I knew how desperately you wanted to stay away from all the Easter goodies. You did it women!!
Did you have any tube socks in your house? Fill them with crushed ice or frozen peas, corn whatever and have hubby make a sock beard around his mouth and jaw.This will help so much. Whenever I had oral surgery I would do this and by keeping the swelling down, the pain meds and antibodics got into the small area via the blood stream quicker. Hope he feels better. Do the ice packs every 3-5 hrs.

Thank you, sweet Monica! I have stayed out of the goodies all day today. I threw away most of it, but hubby wanted me to save him a cupcake or two. They have tried to talk to me all afternoon, but I have ignored them!
We've been keeping the ice packs on his jaws and mouth pretty steadily all afternoon and evening, and he's looking pretty good. Not nearly as swollen now, and he says he's feeling better now. Fixing to have 2 more pain pills, another antibiotic, and then bed. Poor baby. I tell you all right now: I'm keeping my teeth! Wow. What an ordeal.
Off to bed. Night-night!
We've been keeping the ice packs on his jaws and mouth pretty steadily all afternoon and evening, and he's looking pretty good. Not nearly as swollen now, and he says he's feeling better now. Hi Julia and my OFF family:
It's really late now that I'm getting on, after 7 p.m. I didn't get home until after 3 p.m. and then I had to call mom, call my cat sitter, give lots of love to Juliette, unpack, cool off, go to the bathroom several times (not necessarily in that order), read the papers, the mail, the e-mail, etc. So it's been a busy afternoon. I got up around 9 a.m. and left about 9:30, hit a Starbucks and then got on the road. Made a couple of brief stops to get coffee refills and go to the bathroom and get gas, etc., but that was it. So I'm pretty tired. Luckily, I slept really well last night ... for once. And although I was stiff and sore again, at least I wasn't tired.
I had such a nice trip ... wish I could have stayed a little longer at the ballgame, but my body wasn't going to let me. I loved seeing George and Janet and of course, my nephew, niece-in-law and little Alexander ... such a character ... so much like my nephew in face and yes, demeanor, too. Very stubborn, very determined.
I'm happy to be home and that I don't have to work for a couple of days (not until Thursday). Tomorrow is laundry day and I'm not leaving the house other than to get mail.
