Why don't we get support from family and friends?
To All of you well said. I had Gastric Plication Feb.28th. I have so far lost 33 lbs. I am thrilled with my decision to have WLS. I am 73 and I struggled all my life. I never told anyone in my family and I have a big family. My DH is my number one support. He eats what I cook and he is the best support and that is the most important. I have 3 sisters of the heart in USA One in Texas one in Virginia and one in Florida. That is all the support I need. I have kept it a secret from all of them. No regrets. I have no intention of ever telling them. They know I am on a diet and thats nothing new. Mums the word. Doris QC. Oh yeah tried to change my avatar. screwed up. lol
Congratulations to you and welcome to the world of WLS people. We all understand each other so much. And it is NEVER too late to take control of your life. If people ask how you are losing weight. I love telling them. I NO longer am on a diet. I have made a choice to make a permanent lifestyle change--they look at you a little funny but it sure stops all the questions most of the time. I have NO problem telling people what I have done. I am willing to try to educate some of the very uneducated people when it comes to WLS. It is no more that an tool to allow us to achieve out goal of weight loss and to be able to maintain that weight loss forever.
Hugs to you and keep up the great work. I am very proud of you for making this choice. You are one special lady
