Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to say I had sleeve surgery Oct 21, 2008 with Dr. Aceves.

So I have been at this for 2 1/2 years.  It took me about 14 months to lose 105 pounds and I was 63 when I had the surgery done.  So that makes me 65 now and a little experience on this subject.

I know so many of the things you are thinking or feeling.  I know the challenges that you may be facing.  I know that the 1st month was the hardest month I ever did. It just kept getting better each month.

I am here to support you or help you if you are sitting out there trying to make up your mind about having this surgery or what Doctor to go to.  I sat on the side lines for about 6 months before I felt brave enough to start asking my millions of questions I had going through my brain. I thought long and hard before I realized WLS was my only answer.  There were some wonderful people who supported me and listened to me and helped be make the best choice I ever made in my entire life.  I find it pretty easy to maintain my weight loss.  Having the sleeve gave me the tools to achieve my goals.  This is not a miracle cure where the fat just melts off you.  It takes effort and work on your part, and retraining that old brain we had along with a lifestyle change. Adding exercise to my life and finding foods that I love to eat that are healthy--I was amazed at how good they really did taste.  I never consider myself on a diet.  I never feel deprived when it comes to eating.  I eat small amounts of healthy food with an small desert now and then--just not all the time.  It is pretty simple calories in calories out.

So if you have questions, just need to talk or want to know something please feel free to ask away.  I am good about reading my E-mails daily.

Hope to hear from you,
Hugs,

Hi!

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

Hi Suzanne,  Nice to meet you. Encouragement is always appreciated. Sometimes I even need some "tough love." Thanks for posting.   Mag

Hi Mag,

Tough love is something I am pretty good at or just telling it like it is.  So we are going to be good at this.

I am here to answer question, call you up on the carpet when you need, and to have a good laugh to now and them. I know all the emotions and feeling that go along with the WLS thing.

Take care,
