Pre-Hump Day What's UP
Morning Monica and OFF family!!
WOW!! 160 days and counting!! That is great Monica!!!
Well I just got back from the pain dr and had my sciatic shot done. Told the doc that the right side was feeling kind of a pressure again and should I have that taken care of? He said sure thing! So I had BOTH sides done today!! So now I rest today and then I should be feeling like a million bucks in no time he said!! I hope so!!! I go back to see him in 4 weeks for a check up to see how I am feeling. Foot is not feeling so good again...grrrrrrrr will that ever feel good again?? Guess I should call the foot dr and see what he wants to do for that foot again...sighs.
Rick's daughter got her car fixed after being told it would be like feeding a dead horse. Well that lasted a few days. Just like she was told. Wants daddy to help her fix it again...he said NO!!!! Good!!! Why doesn't she listen?? And his mother is just as stupid to encourage her to fix this dam car!! We give up!!!
Well need to go to the bank so best get going. Have a great day and know that I am thinking of you all! Prayers for those that need them... :-)
HUGS
You go girl, you are doing fabulous with 160 days sober, facing your demons and living life, so happy for you!!!
I am just making a quick visit, confirmation hearing going on and lots of people about, which means lots of food too, but I am eating on plan and not paying attention to the things around here.
Yesterday the weather was beautiful, warm temps, breezy and when I got home I mowed my back yard, as I knew with the wet coming this way, it would be too long if I waited until the weekend. It is nice watching as all the trees, shrubs, and flowers come to life, this is a part of why I love living in the Northeas****ching as the seasons come and go, though I also think at times I could easily become a snowbird, but that requires money I don't have at the moment, so I will dream of such things and in the meantime live in the current reality, which is a heavily laden clouds that look as though they will pour forth lots of heavy rains soon.
Last night I roasted some asparagus, sprinkled with a little bit of olive oil and liberally sprinkled with my favorite seasoning, garlic pepper grinder, OMG, can I tell you how good those were, made a 2nd batch for here today, this will become a new staple in the snack food area, along with red bell peppers, if you roast the asparagus long enough, it is almost like having a crunchy something. . . problem is I love food, solution is find ones that don't cost a lot in the calorie department. . .
Ok, enough from me. . .
Wishing peace and strength to those facing serious stuff, sending prayers out to Nancy B and her family as they deal with the loss of her Mom. . .
Hugs, Laureen

Hi Laureen - I am eating absolutely no vegetables. Most days, I can't stand the thought of eating them; however, there are days that I eat raw vegetables like sweet red peppers.
When I read about your roasting asparagus, it appealed to me, so I thought that I'd ask you how you roasted the asparagus in the hope that I will do the same and eat more of what I am supposed to eat. I love fruit, but vegetables most of the time (may be a bit too graphic - lol)
Thanks.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, I had a quiet day at home. Did laundry, nursed my headache .. it kinda went away after the storm passed. But today I woke up with it again. I want to go out to a movie today ... it's not as bad as it was Sunday night when I got home, so out I'll go ... on the way home, I'll stop at the chiropractor ... hope that will help a lot of things.
I got a Cinemark (movie theater) gift card from my brother for my birthday, plus some checks from Mom and my other brother and SIL in the mail (but after the bank closed) ... so I'll go to the bank first. I think I'll go see "Soul Surfer" ... about the girl who lost her arm to a shark a couple of years ago. Then I'll take myself out for lunch.
Well, got to get into the shower. Movie starts at noon. See ya.
Congratulations on your sobriety. I know you read your Alanon literature. If you ever want to read the AA Big Book, which is a huge resource, it is available online. www.aa.org Just an FYI.
Today is a down day for me. My foot is still healing, and I am still experiencing a ton of pain when I walk.
I walked Utley down by the Delaware River, in a drizzle. It is a challenge when I need the umbrella and have to clean up his business.
Today I have phone calls to make and I have to seriously get to work on my baby blanket for the baby to be born in May. Then I have to make a bankie for my grandson, because he keeps dragging around his huge crib blanket to snuggle with when he sucks his thumb. My daughter asked me to make him a little one just for carrying around.
I hope everyone has a terrific day.
Hugs,
Trish
