Sunshine Saturday, whats up?

Morning OFFers. Happy Weekend.
Sober 150 days and so proud of me. Thanks to you all who help sustain my recovery. Without your support, caring, love, humor, and words of wisdom, I would NOT be where I am now, and I am lovin it.
Woke up freezing at 3:30, all cramped up in bed. So I got up and came out to the couch, got under my down, tuct tape patched, blanket and continued to be cold. All the windows are open and didn't want to wake hubby. Put my hydroculator neck pillow in microwave, thank you QVC, and I am finally toasty.
Abundant sunshine reported for today, so I hope we get to work on our tans. Dog park is flooded so we took a huge long walk yesterday and Yoda had fun & frolic hunting squirrels and lizards. Every tree, sidewalk, and heating/AC unit became a place to prance to searching for prey. Yoda can't understand why he can't climb the trees like they can. He looks up then at us with this quizzical look on his face.
Not much planned for today. Hope you all have a great day. Hugs, Monica and the Traveling Bra

Good Morning Monica,
Congrats on your time.  Are you attending AA?  You are doing great.

I did not sleep at all last night.  I was hot, and changed my niightgown.  I could not get rid of the pain in my foot.  Surgery was 12 days ago, and I was obsessed with getting rid of the pain.  But most importantly, my Munchkins are coming to town today.  I am so psyched.

Today has me attending a fundraiser breakfast at my church.  Then, I am heading to a Fitness Expo to promote and do some fundraising for Special Olympics.

Then, tonight, I head to see my Munchkins at the hotel they will be at just for tonight.  I don't have room for guests, and her Dad is on his way home from Italy.  Grammy Pat was going to host them, but couldn't at the last minute, so she got them a hotel room.

Have a super blessed day.

Hugs,
Trish

Good Morning Ms. Sunshine Monica and master of Yoda, those yet to come. . .

Monica, my Roxie and Dillinger before her, would do the same thing you describe, look up the trees and it was so amusing as they would look askance at me, I would laugh because they so don't get it, Roxie wants to climb the trees and go after the squirrels. . .

I am up early today because it is my month WLS support group and today the board where we have our meetings is finally going to meet with us for our first quarterly meeting to discuss ways in which they can support us.  All of us who are group leaders have been volunteering our time for the past 3 years to aid others on their journey and other than providing us with a nutritionist and the facility, they have done little else.  Anyway, we (group leaders) are meeting for breakfast at 7:30 to discuss anything we can think of to aid us within providing better leadership to our community and also to discuss possible ideas for topics, then we have to be at the facility to meet with the board at 9 and at 11 until 1:30 we have our support group. . .  then I have lots of other things to get done because tomorrow Tony will arrive bright and early and we will spend our day together, so other than laundry, tomorrow I won't have time to do anything else ;)

That's my day, hope you enjoy yours!

Wishing peace and strength to those facing life challenges.  Laureen

Good Morning Monica and OFF!
Monica I can tell you are feeling good, look at your cheery rosy red font in your message!
Also wanted to mention that I saw your post yesterday about using ribbon for a shawl.  A few years ago at a fancy yarn shop (read that as expensive) they had yard pre made up in 3 different yarns.  one was kind of soft and fuzzy with a nice eye lash, one was ribbon like and another was a complimentary color and again soft so that nothing was real firm but soft and flowing.  You can certainly do something like that by just choosing 2-3 different types of yarns, but again keep them soft.  I would use a larger hook or needles which ever you decided crochet or knit.  JMHO.
Well we in the NEK had SNOW again yesterday. It wasn't bad out driving until after Carol and I went to IROC, when we came out we went up a hill as I was going back to the hosptial to help her get her husbands wheel chair into their car after his dialysis.  the wheelchair weighs 60 lbs and she has had many abdominal surgeries and has hernias, and actually was in hospital a few weeks ago with a small bowel obstruction so she has a limit as to what she can lift. (plus she is SMO so that doesn't help her situation either). Anyway as we were traveling back to hospital, our way was stopped by multiple flashing lights.  finally got around it and there a van had rolled several times it appeared.  the road was pretty slick by then on the mountain.  once down on the lower roads it was ok traveling.  Wind was blowing a lot last night too, so I'm sure that is not helping.  Hopefully not to much more snow will be falling.
No major plans for today except reorganizing the basement with all the new boxes in there and trying to figure out what is where.  Laundry and cleaning complete the weekend!
Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning Monica, Laureen and Debbie...

THANK GOD that last storm did not hit us badly in New York.  We really, as you probably are Debbie and Laureen, sick to death of winter and snow.
Today is my run about day...I'm getting ready and will head north to visit with my mom.  She is 81 and in need of some help with things ..so off I go. Then I meeting Annette at the gym for some much needed "me" time.  After that grocery shopping at Walmart and then home again.

I just got word yesterday that my daughter has to have a C section.  They scheduled it for Friday April 8th, if she can hang on till then.  On that Friday my grandson, Liam Carter will be born!!!!   I'm excited to introduce myself to the little guy !!!

Well I'd better get going..I'll be late getting to my moms and I certainly will hear about that.
   (((((HUGS))))) and prayers to alll....

Good morning, Monica and all to follow:  So proud of you Monica -- 150 days sober -- such determination and strength -- I applaud you!!

I'm up early for a Saturday, and the birds have been singing for at least an hour already.  We are to have a rainy weekend and I've even heard the "s" word mentioned.  It's supposed to get into the 40's today, we are actually 10 -15 degrees below normal here.  Last year on April 1st it was 80 deg.....but that's unusual -- we should be at least in the mid 50's.

Have a load of laundry to do and pay monthly bills....that's about all for me, for today.  Need to find some boxes to put all the "stuff" in I purged out of my clothes closet for the rummage sale at church.
The guest room bed is covered with clothes, etc.  Still want to go through cupboards for more things to get rid of that I never use.

Praying for my son and DIL and the rest of the staff along with 50 young people making a trip to Florida.  They are all part of Youth for Christ and this is an annual trip......Mom still worries even if he's 38!

Have a wonderful day --keep on keeping on!

Pat R.
