Judy,

There is no time limit on grief. Be good to yourself today and give Bandit some extra love.

Aww Judy,

What a trauma that had to be, it was shortly before I found you folks, but I remember you recounting the story and I can't even imagine the horror you experienced witnessing such a thing.

My Dillinger was a wonderful companion, great with people and children, but the friend who had him while he was young did not socialize him properly and so when I got him back at age 15 months, he was not other dog friendly, it saddened me that he was that way, but as a responsible dog owner I made sure he could never harm another animal and one of the joys of my current girl and something that was very important to me, in finding a new dog, was that it be non-aggressive towards other dogs and Roxie is all that.

So please try to hold onto your good memories of Spike and remember that the spirit of Spike brought you the love of Bandit. . .

Hugs, Laureen

Thanks Laureen!!! Spike was sort of a therapy dog in his own way I guess you could say. He would make Gary go for walks when he didn't want to and get him treats and just everyday things ya know. Me, well I was just there I guess...but I loved that little dog!! It still hurts when I even see a dog that looks like him or on the Animal Planet channel showing abused animals and the one where the shih tzu has its eye popped out its so like Spikes was  almost and it tears me up!!! I have never ever hated a dog before but that one I do!!!!! The monster that killed my Spike I will never ever forgive!!!

Hi Judy....just got back on the Boards after being gone all weekend.  Wanted to give you a big {{{{HUG}}}} for the sadness you are experiencing.  Only others who love animals and especially one in particular would understand your emotions....and I commend you for moving forward and bringing Bandit into your home.  When one door closes..another one opens...not easy but love must be given away in order to keep it.  God Bless you and I hope with each passing year, your pain is a little less.
