Sunday whats up All!!
Hope you all are doing well this Sunday morning. Sober 137 days and so proud of me.
Getting ready for Mass. I do love the church we found here. Great community, great message, much love and devotion. Soothes my soul and heart.
Made Ritz cracker stuffed lobster tails for dinner. They were delicious. The tails were on sale so I decided to try them. Hubby and I worked together and we had fun. Found a great recipe online with instructions. I tend to overcook fish, but this time I followed the recipe and produced a special delicious meal. We also had sweet white corn on the cob. A Cape Cod kinda dinner.
Making Chicken & Dumplings for tonight. This is a FAVORITE of hubby. Old family recipe from IL and his father's family. Put chix and veggies in crock pot last night and let it cook away. I am making a slimned down version, not the usual full recipe. Will make the dumplings later today.
Yoda is feeling better and that means we are feeling better too. We both got worried that he wa*****y. He is a wise little guy and instinct told him how to get better, rest, rest, and love.
There were 11 big dogs at the dog park and he had a ball with them. When he runs he looks like Falcor, the dragon/dog in the "Never Ending Story". He and we had fun.
Hope Debbie get to Ohio today. Excited for Tuesday's meet and greet with Carla and Candy.
Enjoy the day. Connie....take some deep breaths...you have made some BIG changes in your life recently and been on the go, go, go.
Hugs, Monica
laureen, sounds like you're having a grand time with the grands...lol!
Gary has a new title....Super Husband. Yesterday he ran 12 miles, went to a bake sale put on by his Drug Court participants, than came home and painted my bathroom! What a guy! Today I'll hunt around for a new shower curtain and accessories to fini**** off. Whew...just four more rooms to go and the inside will be finished. 'Bout time, we've only been here six years! Lol
Okay, off for another cuppa and to get ready for the day. Hope you all have a wonderful one, too!!!

Your dinners sound delicious ... come cook for me. I'm making salsa chicken in the slow cooker tonight. I use chicken thighs because they don't get as dried out as breasts. But these thighs were in one package instead of in a big bag like I used to get at Meijer, and when I took them out of the freezer, there was paper stuck to the bottom of the chicken ... I had to run them under the water to get the paper off. Such a pain ... wish I could get the big bag of boneless skinless chicken thighs like I used to get at Meijer. Wal-Mart has thighs in a bag but they have the skin on (found that out when I bought them and used them in the salsa chicken recipe) ... didn't work out as well.
I was a slug yesterday ... well, I did do laundry and dishes ... but otherwise, I sat and watched basketball, read and played on the computer. I did try to do my Louisiana taxes (I can't do those with my software) ... but that gave me a headache ... I'm going to have to have someone to do those for me. I couldn't understand it at all. I got as far as trying to figure out the tax rate and then they lost me. I'm not a math wiz ... hell, I have problems balancing my checkbook. I still have a headache from those taxes.
So since I'm feeling so miserable, I decided to started the Cymbalta a day early. I hope this helps. I had a miserable night ... woke up sweating and coughing at 3 a.m. and had to take some Nyquil cough medicine to get the cough to stop, then used ice packs to get the sweating under control.
BTW, this is the first day of spring and no one mentioned it ... did anyone see the super moon? I forgot to look outside ... too busy watching basketball and dealing with the headache from hell.
Well, I'm waiting to see if my brother will pop up on Skype ... don't see him yet ... saw my sister-in-law but not Gary. Made a pot of coffee and put my protein in it. Still have another load of laundry to do. Would like to get my Easter decorations up. We'll see how energetic I am ... depends on the headache.
Well, have a good day. Happy spring ... sure is spring-like down here ...72 degrees.
It is a beautiful morning here in Florida for sure. Had a most excellent day with my daughters yesterday, doing something Mother's and daughters can do well, shopping (lol). . . we went to the Millenia Mall and got some pillows at some store there to decorate my younger daughters new couch, along with a throw, then went to the gap, where they were having a nice big sale and I bought all new undies and a long sleeve cotton shirt, all on sale and additional 30% off. In between we had lunch, then went to see how the pillows and throw would look at my daughter's, from there we went to TJMaxx where I bought my older daughter a nice comforter set and myself a pretty blouse, went to dinner at a place called Metro Burger where I had a yummy turkey burger and then home exhausted, the kids got home shortly after us and everyone was tuckered out and went to bed about 11. I slept on the couch and Lilly, one of my daughters two Maltese/Bijon's thought she should walk on me this morning (lol) to make me wake up, that was around 5, but I told her that grandma needed to sleep and she let me (lol) and so I woke up at 7:30 and am sitting here drinking coffee visiting with you. . .
Monica congrats on your 137 days sober, your dinner sounds scrumptious and the one you have planned does too! Whenever Roxie get*****y, I get nervous, after my experiences with Dillinger I am always on alert, but you are right, dogs seem to know when how to heal themselves of simple digestive ails and bounce back within a day, sometimes those of them that play in the doggie park, can make one another sick, or just worn out . . . glad Yoda is feeling better.
Not sure what is planned today, though I want to get some sun and my girls and I are planning on some exercise, as well as Brody's birthday (the other Maltese/Bijon they have), he turns 3 today. . . we are also going to celebrate Sami's birthday as a family today. So it will be a busy day.
Wishing you all a wonderful day, peace and strength to those who are going through life's challenges.
Hugs, Laureen
P.S. Where is Bev these days? Hope all is well with you Bev. . .

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Good Morning Monica and Friends,
Sitting here sipping a cup of decaf and watching the sun rise. Just enough cloud cover to make for a beautifl pink, blue, violet sunrise. A gentle breeze blowing.
Yesterday I spent much of the day getting our taxes done and ready to mail. Went to e-file them and found that one of the "ID" numbers for my employer wasn't written correctly on my W2 so I have to mail it instead. That's okay as they are done; that is the main thing.
By 2pm I was out in the yard. I started a perennial garden last year. It was time to clean off the old stuff. New growth is starting up through the soil. I just love this time of year. Wish I knew what the one perennial was. It looked so nice on the little sign that came with it. Well, it tried to take over the entire area so I'm trying to get rid of it. It spread like wildfire. I'll have to be watchful and weed frequently to get rid of it. Nothing special planned today. I re-discovered some muscles that didn't get much use this winter.
Don't know if I mentioned it or not, but the results of the biopsy on the cyst I had removed a few weeks ago came back "benign, non cancerous." I didn't think it was bad but always nice to get that confirmation from the lab.
I always enjoy reading about what is going on all over the country and in your lives. Wish I could "zap" myself to Florida to meet Monica in person and to see Candy and Carla. You all have a wonderful visit. I'm sure you will.
Laureen, sounds like you're having a wonderful family visit. I'm sure you really needed the warm weather get away from your winter and hectic work schedule. I'm so happy that your home situatio has returned to a "haven" for you.
Margo, Hang in there. As the saying goes, "Tough times don't last, but tough people do!"
To all of the rest of my friends, you continue to support me when I need it and to brighten my days. To those who are going through health issues or just day to day tough stuff know that I am thinking of you and yours.
