Feeling much better

Hi Ladies, I'm finally feeling better after my gallbladder surgery on 2/22/11.  I was so weak, tired and shaky. Didn't have enough energy to cook anything.  Went to the surgeon and he said I was starving myself and that's why I felt sooo bad. First time in my life I was told to eat more fats and carbs. He said I took the message of protein first and drink water to an extreme. (And that's about all I ate.) Was taking about 250 to 350 calories a day. He said I should be eating at least 800 calories at 2 months out of WLS. I'm pushing food and still only got 560 calories in yesterday. I'm afraid of stretching my pouch too much.    Mag

Awww, Mag!  {{{HUGS}}}  Hope you can begin to feel confident enough to eat better and take care of YOU!  Moderation and balance in all things.  Easy to say, hard to do.  Keep posting, okay?

Hugs Mag and glad you are starting to feel better.
Don't be so afraid of stretching out your pouch...I mean we all had that feeling at one time or another. The further out you get the more you can eat. You just have to stay mindful of your eating always...for the rest of your life.

You have done good upping your calories...baby steps for you because you are recovering for gallbladder surgery. 800 calories will come to you shortly. Hugs Debbie

Mag,

It's hard to get those calories in. For me it too at least a couple of months before I was even close to what my surgeon wanted. I was afraid to eat like you and also everything including me smelled "musty" for want of a better word. I think it was ketosis from burning up the fat so fast.

It evened out eventually. Hang in there. Like the rest of us you'll get it figured out and you'll be absolutely amazed and delighted at the changes come your first year WLS anniversary.

You must almost be in Mexico! We made it as far as Benson. Would have loved to have gone to Tupac and Bisbee. Are you anywhere close to those towns? We'll have to save those for the next trip! Have a great rest of the week.
